Feels kind of strange to hear in D Tier "Because you are a mobo colored commander" and see the S Tier Commander and a bunch auf A Tier Commanders are also mono colored 😅
Generally, it's a downside, because it limits the amount colors you can play. The S and A Tier Commanders got their grade not because they are monocolored, but despite it. If your Commander's ability/archetype (like equipments) is really weak, it's a further downgrade
mono color limit what you can do. duh! Like mono white lack of draw and tutor.
I think the idea of Rhuk is to run him with For Mirrodin and Living Weapon cards that come with something to attach to, but have expensive equip costs.
Also with the artifact guy that enters the battlefield and you equip ALL equipments to him. Like each equipment your opponents control become equipped to him. Then sac him and bam! Rhuk has everything.

I've had a Slobad commander deck since i started playing edh and i cant tell you how many times I have heard this. New Slobad is a combo machibe waiting to happen.

I don't agree that Mono colored commanders are "limited" in their card selection, sure the cardpool is less but you can play a lot of interesting cards that don't make the cut in decks with more colors, that's why i prefer to stick to around two colors in most of my commander decks.
They are limited in my opinion (or rather inflexible). You normaly have 1 or 2 cards that can do something you want and those are expensive most of the time.
For example draw on white, board wipes on green and blue, protection on red, enchantment removal on black. You get 1 or two options and that is it.
It is the price you pay for consistency, I would rather keep them in 2 colors to make up for the flaws of the other color.
It's nice to see all 5 of the Dominus' in A tier!
Once you accumulate 3+ equipped creatures, rhuk is literally a loaded gun in the command zone. The deck is creature+equipment focused. You just equip creatures over 1 or 2 turns, then full swing when you summon rhuk. Your not hoping for anything to die.
There is also the Artifact guy that enters the battlefield and you equip everyone's equipment to him. Once you sac him, Rhuk takes all the equipment.

dont forget that for Neyali, you can run phyrexian mites to load up a bunch of poison counters- doesnt really bump her up much imo but it is notable in this context
I don't think Glissa's final ability is supposed to be used offensively. It shines when combined with Sagas. For example, you can retrigger Binding the Old Gods over and over again as long as you keep getting hits in. Eldest One Reborn can similarly turn into a value engine. Phyrexian Scriptures turns into an infinite boardwipe until your opponents can do something about it.
I agree. I'm building a deck around her. Dark Depths is good when used with her as well. Her third ability is really underestimated.
Ovika is a beast, and the high cost is easily managed through mana rocks.
I had no idea Unctus was so powerful and fortunately I pulled his extended art foil. Guess I’ll have to build him.
He's NUTS I use him in Locust God and he doubles the Insect tokens on attack. He also synergizes really well with Grand Architect.
I’m just excited for Atraxa. Maybe it’s not the most creative commander but damn it’s cool
Dude same! I built a quick prototype for her recently and she SHITS out value. I really hope the price drops on her because the current 10 bucks does not feel right...
You're heavily underestimating the impact of having an instant speed "destroy target artifact or enchantment" on your commander as one of the options, the other ones being gaining evasion and a stat buff. With Liquimetal Coating or Liquimetal Torque, this becomes a Vindicate on a stick in a deck without W or B in it.
Also Venser can't give himself flying or lifelink because he isn't an artifact creature.
I definitely disagree about Urtet being C tier. There are about 40 myr card with a good chunk of them that are basically 2 cost mana rocks. Plus there are 3-4 infect myrs with an inbuilt way to buff them in Urtet's +3/+3 and cards like Eldrazi monuement, darksteel forge, etc to give them indestructible and plenty of ways to reduce the cost of the myrs to 0 (leaving room to cast spells from any color).
PLUS you can always win by just going wide with tokens (another Urtet effect) then giving them the +3/+3 and swinging out..
That’s exactly what I said, he’s cheap and he’s 5 color, giving you access to any of the most powerful cards in existence (that are legal). I built a myr artifact deck the second I pulled Urtet from my collectors box and have been slaughtering tables with it all week using tactics and cards you mentioned. He’s EASILY the best commander to build a deck around out of this set.

Otharri should be at least A tier imo. For mirrodin helps to make rebel tokens to bring otharri back.
That and a haste giver with Breath of Fury = infinite tokens as long as you can get through.
Also, every Changeling could be used. Otharri is very good!
The only commander I'm interested in from this set is Vishgraz tbh. Chiss also interested me, but not as much. Plus I already have a mono red deck and I don't wanna be as reliant on artifacts
He is definitely the one I wanna build out of this set.

@@DREADxMAW I utilize a lot of token doubling and blinking to create a massive army of mites while also playing plenty of cards to protect my board from being wiped, from playing it though (testing it on a simulator) I've found that late game you actually want to shift a bit more into buffing vishgraz himself and he can get hella deadly being able to oneshot opponents fast if you spread the love right. The deck certainly gets better the more opponents you have to spread the love of phyrexia
unctus with a card of "if cant draw more card you win" and 2 cards of "tap to untap other card" in the table is a win, legit got that in like 3 turns with a perfect start hand
I feel like Ezuri should be A tier. Sure it's kind of basic and effectively is just giving extra draws but there are quite a few ways to achieve infinite proliferate and draw with it which with the new cards that give each opponent a poison counter or a few other options just is game over.
man i love my vishgraz deck, i have different builds with him as commander, one being blink, one bing go wide, and another being aggresive toxic with grafted exoskeleton

Karumonix the rat king is an amazing rat commander if you have a rat tribal
I run Karumonix in the 99 with Ayara as the commander. Then once in awhile switch them for variety.

New venser is good surprisingly. It has a 3 card combo in a color with Tutors and Transmute. Dross Scorpion & Throne of Geth + Venser is infinite proliferate. Hit an opponent once then control the battlefield with blue spells and then out of nowhere kill the person in 1 turn.
Thrun and Glissa not in atleast C tier, Venser not in D tier...interesting. The phoenix too feel it could be B tier, also weird to see myr urza not higher.

I dunno, I think people are sleeping on my boy Ezuri. If you can make infinite mana with a sacrifice outlet, you just win right? He draws you your deck and then you cast your win con if choice. You can do this pretty early in game too.
Been playing with a Norn MoM deck with a proxy for Norn. Love how it plays so far. Its a lifegain ETB where the lifegain triggers other effects like card draw. Doesnt have a "I win now" type card in it (although i did one-shot someone with a 55/55 Serra Avatar + Wedding Invitation). It just grinds down other players and I've sent in an equipped, enchanted Norn herself to punch faces since she has Vigilance. Also got the OG Norn in there. Hopefully the real card wont be 50$ a copy like the promos so I can snag the real one. Mondrak is on my list too!
So all versions of norn had been tanking, the normal version is at like 44 now and will probably continue to drop!
For Rhuk, any equipment which comes with it’s own token body would work well
Glissa I think should be at least c tier the last ability us amazing for a saga deck
Melira, living cure + Phyrexian unlife = you cannot lose to damage for an aditional 10+ combats after hitting 0 life.

As an avid OG Slobad commander player, new slobad is a combo piece waiting to happen.
I really dont understand why Elesh is so high up, one clone effect and you are out of the game. A commander, which ruins your entire deck if your oponnents have it out, is not good in my opinion. Copy, steal, Elesh playing casualy all these things just make the deck super unfun for you. And everybody plays blue so its pretty common to have a copy effect each game, and in addition when you design your deck around elesh and have your spot removal on permanent slot you dont even have anything you can do cause you dont have any etbs

Well 10 months and she only has 1204 decks on edhrec. Pretty much nobody plays her and D tier seems generous xD
@@pgkb216 10 months are pretty long period for Magic, considering all the expansions that came out meanwhile modyfing the metas, back then was pretty used

@@pgkb216 Using your site as source: Zopoandrel that he put in Tier A currently is used in only 742 decks, Unctus the only he put in Tiers S is used in only 951, also others Tier A have less than 2k decks.
Still sure that Glissa was/is so bad to deserve the bottom tier? :)

@@pgkb216 also check the others Tiers D commanders usage, most of them barely reach few hundred decks, Glissa with over 1k is still solid after all this time

I’m sorry, but Urtet is definitely S or A tier with it being a cheap, colorless, 3 drop, 5 color, artifact, tribal commander. I built a busted Myr artifact deck with him and have been slaughtering tables all week with it. It creates boatloads of mana and token creatures, I got 20+ artifact lands, kuldotha forgemaster to cheat in threats like darksteel forge to prevent boardwipes, bronze guardian because of its massive power boosted per artifact, mycosynth golem to make everything have affinity for artifacts and basically play everything for free in the deck. Also have tezzeret, master of the bridge to also give everything affinity for artifacts and do massive damage to each opponent with his +2 ability. And have a ton of cards for looting including unctus. Got 3 cheap boardwipes, 2 of which don’t destroy my creatures and plenty of ways to add +1 counters as well. Token doublers like doubling season and Mondrak. A couple tutors to pull anything I need for a couple infinite combos. I even threw in a mechanized production to enchant a myr token and basically win the game on the spot. Artifacts are some the most busted cards in MTG and Urtet is probably one of the best, if not the best commander to run in an artifact deck. You sir, need to reevaluate this list.
Well I thought I had only pulled some mediocre stuff in my prerelease pack (I don't play blue)... But seems I have 'the best commander' and gotta try to make a deck with him lol 😎😂

So i Build urtet mir tribal and ist definetly very powerful but i dont really understand the Ranking is it how powerful is the Effect of the commander or how good can you play around it? Die example i think urtet is ez A or S tier cause it is 5 color ez to Build he has an absolutely incredible overloaded kit on effects and you can Combo very ez. For example drivnod is for me D Power cause its only black you loose many oppurtunities for example an aristocrats Deck. The only good thing is his indestructible ability

Urtet only tier C? I think you really don't understand how powerfull is a commander deck with him... pentacolor, with all tutor. I think Urtet will defeat easly all other stupid commander on this tier list. See you in the future.

Just realized of all the cards I got, I also got unctus, collector edition..... Hue hue hue....
I feel like ixhel is better than you give her credit for. Probably still B tier, but definitely not the bottom of B. Her ability once it gets going is fairly strong tempo. And with as many cheap ways to infect with this set, it's really not that hard to reach 3 counters.
And now Atraxa dominated all Commander / Historic Brawl and Unctus is not used at all

@@jobiy1999 toxic only effects poison tokens given to players who receive combat damage from creatures with toxic. Toxic actually causes normal combat damage whereas infect does not.

I think tier list videos are more interesting if you don't go from lowest to highest. That kind of takes out the "how will he rate this" anticipation for viewers, since we know that the earliest you mention are D and C tiers and the last ones you bring up are A and S tiers. Not as exciting.
