Thank you for this video! I gave up on my shoulder for a long time, because of how many surgeries I have had and the diagnosis. The imaging looked very bad and kept reoccurring. I stopped exercising my upper body, but just taking the next step in terms of physical therapy with the help of this channel has changed everything. I can do most all of the exercises I want, which I never imagined possible before. The concept of not giving up, but managing your load and pain is what has really made the difference. You are much much more knowledgeable than the physical therapists I had through my insurance. Watch E3 Rehab and don't accept chronic joint pain!

I was convinced I tore the ligaments in my knee and could barely walk afterwards due to pain. A month later I had an MRI and it showed no damage. Almost immediately I stopped feeling pain and could walk again. The mind is so powerful.

I got an X-ray, ultrasound and also an mri done for my hip. I have been feeling pain for 10 years or more, but never really severe. It still isn’t very severe, comes and goes. But Friday I got a consultation with an orthopaedic surgeon and he said that only a hip replacement will take my pain away. The femur doesn’t fit properly in the pelvis. When he told me I needed a replacement at 30 my pain increased so much this weekend. I was crying in the doctors office because I was so shocked. I didn’t think I was gonna need any surgery let alone a replacement. Over the past few days I’ve been doing a lot of research and that’s how I discovered your channel. I really appreciate the information you put out here!! I’m still very scared and unsure what to do.

Hi, Sophie. It can be helpful to get a second opinion from another orthopedic surgeon in cases like this. It can also be helpful to consult with a local physical therapist. We have a blog and UA-cam video that discuss when a total hip replacement is indicated. You might find the resources helpful. e3rehab.com/blog/totalhipreplacement/

Sophie .sorry i think the information provided by consultant which gives negative impact on your brain took more fear and anxiety life threatening being young age 30 reccommended for THR .i think you can go through the indications for hip replacement surgery because age isn't the factor there are some uncemented techniques surgeon can do fantastically and quick improvement are there , i am postoperative rehabilitation physiotherapist .so my suggestion for you is whether you need surgery or it can treated by physiotherapy better to get 2nd opinion from orthopaedic surgeon and one experienced physiotherapist needs clinical evaluation and correlate with imaging ( xray) so 90 percent surgery not needed for musculoskeletal conditions but redflags like tumour or fractres or dislocation displacement or Avascular necrosis you may need ....so check ...dont worry ..

@@E3Rehab thank you so much for this! I will definitely get a second opinion and perhaps more. Was just very shocked and taken aback from what this doctor told me and how he did that.

Love the video guys! I recently d/ced a guy with a "massive" back herniation at L5-S1 and he was relatively pain-free without any foot N&T in 10 weeks. His MRI results initially scared him quite a bit and I had to constantly reassure him we'll take it week-to-week and see his progress, well he ended up doing fantastic regardless of all his very significant imaging results.

We need videos debunking myths about strength training and its relation to your overall health. Many people avoid certain exercises or heavy lifting itself as if their bodies were made of glass.
I would love to see videos debunking claims about certain exercises or strength training itself being inherently dangerous to your body.

Its absolutely true myths are bunked its a lesson for clinician still in biomedical models of pain management ....still rely on imaging as a powerful tool to investigate instead of listening observation of patients problem values needs .excellent e3 rehab doing fantastic job keep it up being a physiotherapist feel proud of your jobs guys

When I was in my late 30’s I tore my meniscus in my right knee , I was in pain after that and went to Ortho Dr where MRI didn’t really give a precise image to see tear but Dr explained it may not heal on its own as I continued to struggle walking with that right knee and my Ortho Dr recommended surgery to repair tear . In the time it took to get the surgery schedule things improved but on the day of scheduled surgery I went through with it.
After surgery was over my Ortho Dr explained he almost could not find the tear when he went into surgery for my knee and found only a slight tear that he trimmed. Upon going home once pain drugs wore off I was in terrible pain my entire leg throbbed and felt like it weighed a 100 pds to move it . I was very regretful I had surgery and after seeing my doctor and post operative appt I announced I don’t like you doc because this is not healing right , he sent me to physical therapy for 3 months . The gist of all this was I had burning nerve pain in that knee where for over 10 years and was no longer ever able to run on it like I had previously .
I learned a great deal in the years after that meniscus surgery was most commonly performed surgery and peoples meniscus does experience small tears throughout life just living and doing things with are knees .
I learned that if the meniscus tear is near a blood supply it can heal on its own , if it’s catching on things inside your knee then yes maybe surgery may be right for individual.
I was mad at myself and swore I would never do that surgery again
A few yrs later I tore meniscus in opposite knee rehabbed it well it healed up just fine .
Over the years I would from time to time have problems with my knees and tore ligaments in my leg then knee problems started up again because it caused my center of gravity to be off balance walking , dr again recommended surgery to clean it all out , I opted to rehab it myself with being patient for a year with icing , heat packs every morning to increase circulation , magnesium spray everyday on it and I was successful even though it took a year .
I do believe that body can heal itself sometimes if we just give it time and know the right things to do it avoid doing but of course you must do your research .

Nice video once again!! Lets say i stepped somewhat abnormally and my knee starts to hurt i do an MRI and comes out that i have meniscus tear. That pain that came after the incident maybe doesn't have to do anything with the meniscus tear?

This is interesting. Maybe not your area of focus, but I’d be interested to see a video like this focused on breast imaging. Apparently, 50% of women in my age range have dense breast tissue and fibrocystic breasts. The free screening mammograms promised under the ACA are supposedly not intensive enough to identify cancer in those of us in this category. The more intensive, diagnostic mammograms are not covered by insurance, and my radiologist has recommended annual MRI’s and ultrasounds to keep an eye on my cysts, which don’t increase my risk of cancer. And none of these imaging procedures are covered under my insurance due to the high deductible. There is a lot of confusing information out there. I’m also interested in myofascial release to reduce dense breast tissue, but again the evidence I’ve seen is mixed. Just wondering if y’all have any thoughts on this topic.

Hello. As you mentioned, this is not my area of expertise. There may be experts on another platform like Twitter who might be able to answer your questions or point you in the direction of helpful resources. As you said, there's a lot of confusing/conflicting information in the medical field.
