After several months of struggling to get ideas and getting those ideas rejected, this is perfect for my eagle scout project I am working on! Thank you so much for this! This is actually a blessing!
@@donnygrahambuilds I just built a 6’ table for Sophia’s birthday party that we may convert to an outdoor table since it’s pressure treated. BUT if we don’t, I’ll be making this for sure, love doing stuff with Trex! Last year we made a 4’ planter box out of it with corner angler iron and it’s done awesome!
You could definitely beef it up with 6x6s. Not sure what you mean by ‘PT’. If you went the longer bench route, you’d likely need a middle support to prevent sagging. Thanks for checking out the video!
Thanks for the video and inspiration! My wife and I made a version of this today. You don't happen to have a link for the glides/spacers you attached to the bottom of the legs? I couldn't find anything at Lowe's that seemed appropriate for outdoor use.
Thanks for checking out the build! Unfortunately I don’t have a link, I just picked them up from my local Menards (green box store). Since Lowes failed, maybe Home Depot?
At 10:13 I see a skinny board between the wider ones on the top? I counted 6 boards across the top so where did that come from and why is it there? I am a NOVICE but want to build my own set bc the ready-made ones of resin are IMO junk. I can't go with typical type picnic as I need the seating to be open on the ends so you don't have to raise your leg to get into the table to sit down. I don't mind if they are attached vs separate benches but slide to get in.
That skinny board was used because my wife wanted a specific width for the table. You could definitely use full sized boards throughout. Plans are in the bio. Good luck!
Personally we really enjoy having 2 benches on one side and 3 chairs on the opposite side. Anything weather-proof would work great, we have a few of those wicker woven style ones from our local big box store. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the video 👍🏽
Thanks for checking out the build! This table is just about 9’ long. There are plans linked in the video description. I would caution going for 12’ unless you’re going to add in a 3rd middle set of legs. The trex material is too flexible for that kind run with out center supports. Cheers!
@@donnygrahambuilds thank you so much - do you believe that these plans would be portable to make the 12' table (by 4 feet wide) if I added a third set of legs in the middle? Just having lots of difficulty trying to find design docs for that size table....thanks in advance!!
@@WizzardZero probably unlikely. All the measurements would be off. Honestly, for what you’re trying I’d recommend 2 - 6 foot tables. Same place, easier to support and easier mobility.
@@donnygrahambuilds That's a fantastic idea and I totally agree! 2 6' tables would be much more straightforward. How would you modify your design to support a 6' table vs the 9' that you have here? just go with 2/3 of the measurements? I assume I could mitre the trex on top in the corners if I didn't want to see the scallops on the underside of the deck pieces? Thanks in advance for the guidance!
Hey! Thanks for checking out the build! I’ve been kicking around the idea of making a set of plans for this table. If enough people express an interest, I’ll do it 👍🏽

@@bosox2k1 Those will vary in color depending on which trex (or other composite material) you decide to use. I added a link for the ones I used though. Hope that helps!
Haha they do, but with where this is positioned at our place it doesn’t get sun for too many hours of the day. Plus, we have a huge umbrella we can open up to cool it off if we’re planning to have a meal outside👍🏽 Thanks for checking out the build!
True. I used those on my deck (shown in the last few shots of the video). But you have to use the boards with the side grooves on both sides for those to work. We weren’t a huge fan of that look. Thanks for checking out the build !
Haha maybe, but seems like they were bent before I ever got there 🤷🏽♂️. Not sure any amount of stacking will change the treated moisture content in those boards haha

Would look alot cleaner if it had a picture frame boarder.
This is definitely a way to go

Could you have 45 degree cut your outside pieces so you don’t see the bottom of the Trex?
Definitely an option. But I wasn’t a big fan of the miter look for this project. Thanks for watching!
Deckorators solid core boards are less dense, more durable, retain less heat and the exposed edges would look solid not grooved. (Trex has limits)
Yessss Donny! Great work my friend!
Thanks bud, you guys should make one! Super doable, and makes for a stellar outdoor hosting space

Can I use 6x6 legs? Did you use PT? Do you think I can make long benches rather than 4 and have them be sturdy?
