    While the aquarium on the right was more visually appealing at first sight, i found myself liking the left one more overall. I appreciate the minimalist aspect of it (kind of like I decorate), and like you said its very visually appealing...just comes down to what each person likes

    The red eye tetras I bought yesterday looked wonderful and active and looked very happy coming up to me and looking at me...this morning i noticed the red was a lot more pale than yesterday..called the store and told them and she said its a sign they arent going to make it. She said do a 2 gallon water change but other than that theres no meds that would help..wait 5 day and see if they live..and she said these are very hardy fish...i really am upset cause im so in love with them

    Hi...probably dont remember me but im brand new to fishkeeing...my tank cycled so today i got my first 4 schooling..15g flex. The lady suggested red eye tetra..she knew i have a 15g. I got 4 and she said i could add more fish after a week. Problem is i didnt realize they get to 3 inches. With what i had planned 4 schooling, 1 dwarf guarami, 4 corys and small pleco..clown or bristlenose even though i really want a hs loach. I think all those fish will be too much. These fish are aggressive and theyre fin nipping already. Why would she recommend these for a 15g community tank? Im bit upset she didnt tell me how big they get and their temperment. I would have gotten something smaller...i dont know what to do...maybe these red eyes have a small bio load, but still i dont think theres enough room to get all the fish i want and she knew what i was planning on getting...however i do admit ive fallen in love with these red eyes...they dont seem to school ad well as the head and tail light tetras which she also suggested but i decided ti get the red eyes...what are your thoughts on this? Thank you

      Ah yes, this means you finally received your stand if your tank is running! I can understand the frustration. I would reconsider your plans and aim to get less fish and would not suggest adding the gourami if your current fish are really nippy as I would be too worried for the safety of it's long feeler fins. When you will add more fish, do not do it all at once, do it progressively (i.e. wait a 1-2 week between additions). This is to make sure your biological filter can handle the extra load (test the water). If cohabitation works well and that water parameters remain under control you can think of new additions. I do agree that smaller fish would've been better but since you already have them I would suggest keeping them for now and see how it goes. If you see that you have too many problems with them, see if you can contact your fishstore and to bring them back and swap for another type.

      You do remember me...i couldnt put the stand together with the picture...i need things written out in detail. I hired a handy man, paid 125 dollars for 10 minutes of his time, but oh well...i agree with your advice and keep things in the area "less is more". Thank you once again. Oh...when i put the fish in they hid immediately and i left the light off for 4 hours. When i turned on the light all 4 of them came right up to me and were staring me down and the fin nipping stopped. I gave a very small amout of flake in there but they didnt eat it even when the flaked started dropping to mid level. Its all on the bottom, but its not much food to begin with and even though i learned they like to eat mid level, im hoping they it it off the bottom because they lady at the store said dont get catfish yet...just these 4 red eyes forv a week and evaluate...have a great day and thanks again

      Also the fin nipping seems to have slowed down. There are tons of placed to hide between the driftwood, caves, plants and large stones. Im kind of proud how i scaped it...i think it looks really good

      There was a bonus with these red eyes...they look amazing in combination of blue and white light, and im sure they will develop even more beauty as they grow. I wish i could have 20 of these.

    Just ordered some red root floaters...will the light be too close to the plant? ...like kill the plant?...flex 15

    • @DolbecAqua
      @DolbecAqua  Рік тому

      I don't think so, but note that those plants have fragile roots so you will have to orient the output flow nozzles to minimize surface flow.

    • @fishkeepingfreak
      @fishkeepingfreak Рік тому +1

      @@DolbecAqua yeah i put a sponge on the left output nozzle and the other pointed to side so ill still get good oxy. ...im putting the floatersbon the back wall in a feeding ring so they dont float over to the higher flow points
