Thanks for the video! I always thought it was a shame that the chance to have the saga adapted died with the first movie, bc the book had great potential to become a classic even with its own issues
It was adapted TOO LOOSELY... Way too loosely... I actually watched the movie BEFORE I read the books... and they kinda RIPPED THE STORY TO SHREDS to make the movie. It really was missing a LOT that needed to be there, to BUILD on... But all in all, the movie was a good "stand alone dragon movie", I do wish they would have made a sequel.
@LoneWolf-gz9mr it really is a shame how many movies don't get sequels because they dont follow the source material. Like John Carter and Warcraft, good movies but got scrapped because of hate.
@@noobhunter94mc22 I'm not entirely sure that's it... A movie adaptation SHOULD be like the book (quite a BIT like the book... It is, after all, where the story is from)... Here, in this instance, I liked the movie and I liked the books... I would have liked to see what they had next for the movie.. But it was just a "stand alone dragon movie".. I think that's kinda why it crashed... Regular audiences didn't seem to think it was strong enough to stand on it's own... And Eragon readers didn't think it was the story they liked.. So it kinda fell apart...I DID think it was a pretty good dragon movie...But that's on it's own merits (since I hadn't read the books at the time)... I'm not sure it's hate, so much as it is wanting either the tale brought to life on the screen.. (Change too much and it's a different tale, which CAN sometimes be good too) Or wanting a story that's strong enough WITHOUT knowing the material it's adapted from. (which I guess general audiences didn't feel this was)... The movies would have been VERY different later on, with what was missing.. And I think that could have been fun.
@LoneWolf-gz9mr i thought the movie was good. I didn't start cringing at it until I read the books. Rewatching it, it had lots of pretty epic scenes. Like when saphira flies through the waterfall. Unfortunately producers want to do their own thing. Like.look at the halo tv show. The producers said they never played the game and never will and want it to be their own. Well it's not their own. So guess what? It went to hell because it wasn't Halo. Just wish they would find someone who loves the books to direct and produce book adaptations or game adaptations.
Love the series, I had seen the movie years before and I definitely liked it UNTIL I read the books I really loved the magic system and how its basically self contained with "well if you just cast a spell without knowing what your opponent is up to you might fall for a trap they set. Gotta read their minds first"
so i enjoy the movie but that is only because unlike many other adaptation i was able to separate the movie from the books in my mind and enjoy it as if it was its own thing... which to be fair the shorter list make is what ISN'T the same so maybe that is why.
For me Eragorn was one of those perfect mistakes imo. Everything about the trailer as someone who didn't read the books seemed a sign to not watch it meanwhile of you read the books you'd probably get excited aside from some of the choices then see it and hate what they did to the story.
@@todd5purlock497 ah sorry. I thought you said something about Eragon though. But indeed, if you see in much things always something gay, maybe he is gay and his so called gay-dar sees everywhere his wish.

@MarrisaPlays yeah like i said if it was just a dragon movie and didnt have the Eragon name the movie would have done well

Dang, its been way too long since ive read these lmao
@PurdySuki yeah same haha I'm going through them again
@noobhunter94mc22 I have the books in storage rn so I can't rly read them again, but they rly were a big part of my childhood
@PurdySuki i got the audio books and listen to them on my commute. I didnt read much when I was younger. Wish I did though
I always thought the book was for queers too
Nope. There isn't even a gay relation in the books. Only coming of age and literally friendship and brotherhoods that are made throughout.
Bro is so closeted he has gayness on his mind 24/7
Rent free
@todd5purlock497 nowhere is there hidden feelings written for another man though.
@@rikgesamo2638 my brother in christ, I agree with you.
I'm referring to the other guy, he's the one constantly thinking about gayness
