Bro your video is so underrated u saved my entire life. I was thinking it was my rack and pinion but then I felt it could be something simpler like a belt bc my belt looks super beat up😭
I'm having issues with my power steering on a 2005 jeep liberty! The fluid jug is full it doesn't leak from anywhere, however when I attempt to turn wheel to right or left it's very hard to steer the wheel! Would you mind sending me the possibilities, as to why I have this problem, and how to fix it? With the current inflation we are experiencing even a job like that would be to expensive to pay for. I appreciate your help, thanks... Jose
A couple of things, first if your fluid is bad it can cause this issue. Flushing the fluid may help. If the fluid is good then you likely need a new power steering pump.
If it came off while driving you would want to make sure to shut down the vehicle before the engine overheats due to the water pump not turning. Then inspect to find out why it came off. It is very rare for a belt to break or come off without it being caused by a failed pulley, tensioner or other component such as the alternator, water pump, power steering pump or a/c compressor.
If facing the bolt from the front of the vehicle turning clockwise should tighten the bolt unless the bolt is stripped. If it is stripped you will need a new tensioner. Verify that you are going the correct direction by turning the bolt opposite of what you had done. If it tightens up then you can get it tight and see if it relieves the tension for you.
Because the pulley on the crankshaft is solid mounted it has no separate bearing to replace. If when the engine is running you see any wobble on the crankshaft pulley then you would want to remove and inspect it.
I just changed my belt on my liberty. Thanks to you it took me like 15 minutes. Super easy, thank you.
This is so extremely helpful! I was about to take my car to the mechanic 😱

Super cool video and very easy thank you
Awesome video so informative
Huge thanks. 🥰
Good clean explanation
Thanks for video.however, the inscriptions on the belt must be worn in such a way that they are legible.

Subbed. Thanks for the help! Great video!
Bel video, ma secondo me bisogna mostrare anche lo smontaggiio della ventola
Thanks for sharing.. Same method as my 98 ford explorer sport 5 speed. (Rip.) 200,000 miles than Wham! totaled by a Florida blind Granny.
Hey Car Guy... Any way to bypass my AC compressor in my 2005 Jeep Liberty? It appears to be routed the same as this 2003... Thanks!
2006 Jeep Liberty serpentine belt do you have to take the fan off to get it
It can be done with the fan on.
How to do it on 2.4L? No videos anywhere
How do I take the fan off
If it came off while I was driving how bad is it for the vehicle ?
If it came off while driving you would want to make sure to shut down the vehicle before the engine overheats due to the water pump not turning.

Does anyone reply on this thread? When I used the 15mm clockwise it didn’t lose the tension, it just made the bolt loose. Help!?
If facing the bolt from the front of the vehicle turning clockwise should tighten the bolt unless the bolt is stripped. If it is stripped you will need a new tensioner. Verify that you are going the correct direction by turning the bolt opposite of what you had done. If it tightens up then you can get it tight and see if it relieves the tension for you.
I noticed you didn't rotate the crank shaft. Can you tell us more about that piece?
Because the pulley on the crankshaft is solid mounted it has no separate bearing to replace. If when the engine is running you see any wobble on the crankshaft pulley then you would want to remove and inspect it.
Why is my belt not going back on ?
Either the wrong routing or wrong belt usually
