I got two silly comments.
1) pretty soon his guitars will use skateboards for the fretboard.

@@JEBradshaw824 Because he is so used to the size of the neck now - he finds it uncomfortable to play on a 7 now. So he still uses 8's or 9's even on 7 string songs.
That riff is crazy
it's played on a string tuned to C#, which is pretty much around the fur era tuning. does he really need a 9-string in that case?

@@yomuthabyotch the thickest string is a C# but i think one or two octaves lower than C# on a six string and he’s only playing the BEADGBE part he’s not using the two thickest strings

@@monkehm He's in the tour bus. It's a good time to practice the 9 string even if he did not use the C#. He did not touch the F# either. This song can be played in B Standard.

Did you guys think he was being recorded from 5 different angles at once? You record the audio and then you cut many camera angles together on top of the audio to make it look good. This is the standard nowadays
@@michaelherscheid9709 almost none of these playthrough videos use actual live audio. They're the audio tracks from the albums. Do a side by side and you'll see they're the same.
@@jonlangfitt And it'll be way harder to make these vids if they do an actual audio recording, the purpose of course is to see how he plays these songs. I would love it if they do a BBC Basement session for a few songs though.

I would maybe switch is out with Ohms. Radiant City is one of my favorite tracks from the new album.

Ohms is the only Deftones album that revealed its greatness slowly. It’s an incredible album and one that came out at a time we needed it most.
Also, Lovers is a masterpiece for those fans unaware of this largely unknown gem💎

Saw them in Chicago 2 nights ago 5-27 and they were awesome and louder than ever before. After the show I stormed the front row and Stef was tossing picks then ran out he looked right at me as I yelled cmon Stef wtf!! He gives me the ok hold on motion, rips the set list off stage floor come back and handed it to me! Of course everyone tried to grad it too but I was like um nope lol

I was actually extremely disappointed in the set. It was really safe. Beware was cool but why the hell would you play Lovers, get everyone all excited, and then replace it with Lotion so only a small batch of fans got to see it? And then not play anything off Ohms besides the singles (which IMO aren’t great compared to the rest of the album)?
Sounds like a song Sergio wrote and now thru won't play it cuz they kicked him out
@@boarderking133 nah, Sergio was a big part of writing many of their songs, some of which they are playing live, so that has nothing to do with their set list
@@sloppysteaks5813 they played Beware at your show? Damn, we didn't get anything off of SNW... Atleast from what I can remember. They played lots of Adrenaline and Diamond Eyes, like two tracks off of Ohms, Digital Bath and Change, Swerve City, and some other safe ones, like Be Quite and My Own Summer.
Don't get me wrong, the show rocked, but I could have used some SNW and a bit more self-titled stuff. And more Ohms, damnit!

Had no idea this song was played on a 9-string. 'The Spell of Mathematics' was pretty obvious due to the tuning and tone -- but the only other song I suspected from that album being played on a 9 as well was 'Headless'.
He used the 9 string guitar throughout the recording process, but he didn’t play the 9th string on most songs
It's not played on a 9 string. It's played on an 8 string. He never uses the 9th string, it's just for show.
