The fact that you would give yourself a C+ for that job goes to show how high your standards are for yourself. Thats an A+ job and why you are a true professional.
But why give your customer C+ results? Especially when you're aware of it.
Steve is an insufferable MAGA boy, right wing conspiracy supporter and prejudiced. He lacks communication and timeliness according to his OWN customers who say he takes longer than promised and lacks proactive follow up, in a nutshell he is unprofessional regardless of how much of an expert he claims to be on UA-cam.
Brianna Williams source?
A true professional wouldn't let his C+ work out the door
@@privatejoker5062 Because the bag was in such bad shape practically all of it had to be replaced, and he only charged her for a portion of the work. He did the entire straps on the arm for free. It takes time to do a different project every day. People are so impatient and think he works in a factory. It's a 1 man shop with 1 apprentice. It's very time consuming to do things correctly.
Today on "why did youtube recommend this" and also "how did youtube know I would enjoy this when not even I knew I would"
UA-cam knows us inside out.
ahahah, i got recommended this because it has louis repair in the title and I watch Louis Rossman on youtube. And his videos are a lot about repairs. 😂

yourtv Very close yes... It's like the spy u didnt want but brings u gifts u never knew u wanted... Also very creepy
yeah
that first repair is like that retouch of that jesus painting
Harsh. 😂
Hahaha
🤣
In all fairness to the Jesus painting retouch, that was done by an old woman volunteering at the church. The first purse feels like it was almost def someone exploiting money out of the owner.
More like Mr.Bean trying to fix Whistler's Mother.
When i first started leather crafting i bought ever expensive tool. Then I see you a master craftsman skiving the strap with a utility knife, it just shows that its not the tools that make you good,
I feel for that poor lady. I had a similar experience when I took a coat to be cleaned a few years back. My grandma that passed away a few years ago purchased that coat for me, so it was special and had sentimental value. The shoddy dry cleaners ended up breaking the belt on it and didn't care. I left a negative review and the owner called me up and tried to make it seem like I was exaggerating, it was ridiculous. I cried, too. It's disheartening to have someone treat your item with such disrespect. They don't care because it's not their property, they just see dollar signs. They have no integrity or honor in their work. I wish we knew the name of the "stupid jerk" that ruined her bag. Don't sell yourself short, Steve, you did a great job!
I think Maria's husband has learned to agree with her no matter what she says. 🙂
Yes, dear. Absolutely. You're right. He knows what to say!
The 3 most important sentences for men who wish to achieve the perfect marriage:
1. Yes dear!
2. You’re right, dear!
3. That’s a fantastic idea!
@@BigTwitchy You forgot: "Absolutely" and " I understand".
Joe Keaton scarred and smarter.
Looks good honey.
The first repair looked like someone let there 8 year old sew it...crazy anyone would think that was acceptable. ..even on a CHEAP BAG that would have been a shoddy job.
However, I think a 8 year old would be very proud to be given that task, and try to the best possible. I don’t think the person who did this cared.
I love how much pride you take in your craftsmanship. You're a real artist.
I have 3 LV's, made in France and i cherish each one especially my vintage, she's 28 years old and gorgeous...i felt this woman's pain and joy. This is seriously one of the best work i've ever seen.
Imagine getting into a pipe organ console to do a repair and finding that a previous repair person rewired switches with fragments of extension cords instead of the proper wires. That's what that bag reminds me of. A disaster ! For people that care about their craftsmanship, this can bring you to tears. You did beautiful work !
@@justotalkalottashit8392 an example from personal experience 😃 not something on most people's radar. A mess is a mess is a mess wherever you find it.
My sister bought a house and that was the case lol
What a lovely beginning message. Never cared about bags a day in my life and now I have deep respect for people who restore them with care.
Steve. You are my hero.! You understand a gals heart. Your wife is a blessed woman. ❤️
The condition of that bag was just heartbreaking! I’m so glad you agreed to fix it!
"Mini Hammer Time"....Steve, your such a tease! 🤣 Another wonderful job! The sign of a true Master Craftsman is when they grade themselves and always feel they could had done it better. That 'drive' is what makes the difference....the constant search for perfection...true artistry at it's best. I love it!
Mini hammer time
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahah 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I find watching your videos to be very relaxing and therapeutic. It’s as if watching you fix these things means that everything else will be fixed at some point.
"In any trade, if you don't know what you're doing, do not do it." True words, my man. I teach the piano for a living and the number of people who come to me from bad teachers is overwhelming. On the other hand, good craftsmanship has a place in every economy, and even during bad times, quality will always prevail.
Steve, my old boss always said, "There's always competition." By "competition", he meant that there will always be someone who offers to do lower quality work for less money. This looks like a prime example! Part of the problem is customers who don't know how bad this is...some people might genuinely think the guy did a good job. So thanks for setting the record straight!
As a contractor I agree. I can't count how many botched up jobs I've redone. Customers pay less and get just that. The sad part is... like you said... some people actually think the work is good!!!
The problem is that all too often consumers will choose the cheapest service available without doing their homework and seeing if they're any good at it. If you can find good service at a decent price, then great, but if you can't, then it's always better to take the best quality service you can afford, even if cheaper options are available.
@@hotwax9376 Well, an example is a photographer I knew. He was discouraged because nobody ever bought the creative/ artistic photos, so he stopped trying. The guy who did this repair might be the same way, being so used to people wanting a $20 repair, that he doesn't even offer the expensive option. Getting good customers who are willing to pay for your services is harder than doing the work....
@@fredygump5578 I think it's partly due to exposure, as with most things these days.
I don't know who could have mistaken the first job as being even tolerable. Anyone who could thread a needle could do that hatchet job. This dude is an artisan.
My Dad is from Buffalo, and I swear you both have the same angry Italian energy that I got. When you started blowing up about the first "repair" I thought I was watching my father working in the shop!
I can't get enough of watching what I call "restoration artists" work their magic on what most people would consider lost causes. The skill and care involved just blows my mind! You truly are an artist sir!
It makes me feel happy, that I’m not the only one with a disaster going on around my work space. I do some sewing, and I have the equivalent of this much mess in my sewing room for sure! 😂 I love this raw, real life type video. Instead of it being all “sparkling” and clean just for a video. I appreciate this
I will always appreciate those who invest the time and detail to handwork like this. It's a dying trade and I commend you for your dedication to keeping this tradition going. Much respect brother. It looks amazing!
Steve; you saved that man thousands in new Louis Vuitton purchases! Not only was Marie impressed but I heard how impressed he was too.
You really are very talented. That comes from a 72 year old Englishman trying to clean mold off his wife's bag...
"Looks great hunny"
You know that man didn't care at all
I'd like to believe he cared VERY MUCH- not about the bag, of course... I'd love to believe he was happy to hear the pleasure and excitement in his wife's voice. A good man would. 😊
Steve is an insufferable MAGA boy, right wing conspiracy supporter and prejudiced. The intro to this video has me in tears. This bags obviously means a lot to Maria and even though it’s not “a big deal” someone betrayed her trust and damaged something that meant a lot to her. Even without seeing the rest of the video, i am thankful to Steve for taking care of this and for his outrage on behalf of Maria and her bag. I’m so happy for her that this will be fixed. I know she will cry happy tears when she sees it whole again. Edit: I love how she hugged her bag at the end.
Did you literally start crying?
26:31 that’s what it looks like when someone loves what they do for a living. I wish that to every single one of yall reading this, me included.
Steve: The finished product is unbelievably beautiful! Yes, it does look like brand new. And she was over the moon with your work. BRAVO!!
The artist in you sees the flaws. The user of the bag sees perfection! Thank you for sharing your talent ,and expertise!
Great job... matching the straps to the bottom was spot on. As you mentioned you could have made the leather look like the “as new” tint, but you would have always known it was a repair. It’s like doing body work on a car... you match the current body color, not what it was on the showroom.
Thing is Steve, not everyone has your standards and morals. You take pride in your work. Hell even I would never stitch handles like that, it’s appalling. I look forwards to watching this.
He's got some great morals, but at the end he gave himself a C+ for work. I'm a chef, do you want a C+ meal? Give an A every time, especially when you have the time to fix the mistakes you know about. Stitch length was wrong and you can see the stitches are a little wavy. Overall he made the bag look so much better though.
people care about gettin paid..
@@discingaround Were always our own harshest critic. I used to weld pipe and we had to stamp each weld with out initial or mark so if that gas pipe blew out they knew who to sue or fire. It was always a mind game with myself to do better this time than the last.
It must feel great to do a job and get a reaction video back like that. Not only performing a service but making Maria very happy as well. I love the videos with the unboxing reactions at the end. They make me happy too to see their joy and relief. Thank you Steve!
Silent " Hammer Time" and "OOK... Let's Continue" are my favourite, because of you I am so deep down to learn everything there is to leather, I can't Even Explain you! I am from El Salvador ( Central America ) and because of these videos I restore my faith in humanity!
OK, I am a new hobbyist at leather work and can do far better than that. What a disgrace to do that bad a job. Of course, I am learning how by watching Steve. :). I love that you always do the right thing.
I wanted to cry when your telling her Steve’s going to fix it! Some hero’s wear aprons😘👍🏼
You’re* Heroes* 😋
its a backwards cape
When I grow up ( I’m 60 lol). I want to be your apprentice. Hubby is supportive.
i know next to nothing about leatherworking, all i know is that this is delightful to watch. you seem to be a very empathetic person with good morals and a drive to set things right and that can be appreciated during times like these.
Whoever did that needs to have their hammer taken away from them...permanently...
Buckhorn Cortez or have their hands tied to Steve’s anvil for hammer time.
.. Or have that hammer thrown at them. I'm appalled! They knowingly permanently dmged someone's precious bag, and expected payment 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
👍👍I vote for all of that AND that half human who did that to that bag NEEDS TO BE IDENTIFIED, CALLED OUT then TARRED AND FEATHERED IN THE CENTER OF TOWN so others don’t become victims of that kind of barbaric DIY craft work! 😡🤬
Both, the bag maker was a fail too as this is the last place that should fail
LovingAtlanta all right all right... I’ll do better next time. Yellow thread
It made me so happy when he said (Let's continue).... I enjoy watching, and like Steve's dry sense of humor😊
You did an amazing job and this is definitely better than Louis Vuitton would make it. This is true craftsmanship!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
When you consider that Louis Vuitton technicians work with a set of standards, and new materials, it takes a magician to restore a product so that it looks as if it's been well taken care of instead of being fully restored to "new" appearance. Some items are heirlooms and will be passed down to family members.
well at the old LV bags they had a standard. Now a days you can not call it quality anymore unfortunately
I’m wondering why there are 3-4 Louis Vuitton bags on Steve’s bench to be repaired. Does that speak to the quality of the original workmanship or materials?
Bags whose main load bearing points are destroyed in a short time are not going in any inheritances.
Rhonda Crosswhite does it not say more that all the other bags are not worth being repaired by a master?
@@rhondacrosswhite8048 you have to keep in mind too that the bags are coming in to be replaced after like 20+ years of use or more.
Honestly I love that you match the straps to the appropriate color of whatever the purse has. Even though its suppose to be yellow you went a little darker. It makes everything cohesive and matching.
GREAT job as always. I'm loving the Louis repairs. You're gaining fame for being able to repair them.. Lol!
While it's just a bag, you did a great job of it and as someone commented before me, you're very honest about your work. Is it perfect, no, but nothing really is. Was your effort perfect, yes, it was.
Oh Robert it's never just a bag! 😁
I think Maria's husband did that first repair!!! I'm guessing she told him how much a repair cost was , and he said you don't take care of anything so let me repair that! It won't cost a penny and you won't know the difference! His pocket book will know the difference now , and I bet he helps her carry that bag and keep it clean now!!!!
Steve: been sewing and mending all my life (fabrics, upholstery, etc.), but every time I watch you I learn a new technique. Thank you for talking about what you are doing and why. Very educational.
“It’s not hard work, just a lot of time”. Please let us know what is hard work for you; you make it all seem so natural...
Wow, fantastic job correcting their disastrous hack job! Bedo’s is 5 star, A++ workmanship.
You are SO correct in pointing out the lack of reinforcements at the known weak points. So many bags break at the same areas even after light use. For the large cost of an LV bag & accessories, LV SHOULD stop a little short term greed & reinforce known weak areas that always break in their products. NO way any bag lasts 20 Yrs usage per LV policy.
Few can buy a new LV bag every season. Few are as skilled as you in LV repairs.
If something ever occurred to my bag I would reach out to you. Really love how you treat the bags with honor and care.
I can’t explain why....but I KNEW when you were speaking to (towards?) the customer that you’d end up making new straps!! Such an honest, genuine person! I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who kinda knew 😊
“Alright....let’s continue”
Might seem like a lot of money....but as the owner of quite a few LV bags, it’s wayyyyyyyy cheaper than buying a new one! Especially if/when the bag holds sentimental value. I’m sure she’ll be blown away!!!
ETA: she definitely was!
You're turnng into the "Botched" of leatherwork! Instead of boob jobs, though, it's Louis Vuitton.
Title needs to be changed to "Steve roasts Louis Vuitton and whoever did this botched job for an hour" XD -- awesome work chief!
🧔 *"I'm ashamed to be in the same trade as these guys."*
😒 Uh, you're not in the same trade as them. Clearly, their trade is being a con artist, pulling con jobs. _Your_ trade is leather working.
🙏🙄 Thank God for talented artisans like yourself, who are able to correct the hot messes those types of fools make!
Came here to say the same thing. Exactly.
Steve, Vince Lombardi stated the case well. You strive for perfection, which is not achievable. You settle for excellence. That was an EXCELLENT result.
It's a Bedo's video, it's a bag repair, I have exams coming up, of course I have 45 minutes. I apologise for nothing.
If you really want to watch a video but dont have the full time handy, up the speed of the video, 2× speed cuts it in half so its just 22 minutes and even 1.25× shaves of a quarter of the video length, its perfect, you get the full video, no jumping about and you see it in less time
You made that lady really happy! You did a fantastic job !
The start of the Video It looks like a 3rd Grader did that repair as a Show and tell for class. I'm glad to have You, a TRUE Craftsman here still on Planet Earth.
Great save! And getting to see the customer's reaction was a perfect example why artisan's, restoration specialists like yourself go that extra step !👌❤
The kind of people who do that kind of work are beyond shaming. I had to give up sending out work on my car restoration hobby because so many of these jokers are out there.
Nothing better than giving a blessing to someone who has been wronged. Thank you for your extra effort.
We're so fortunate to still have skilled craftsmen around. Long may you all live. I love watching you work.
I don't know why they stitched it through the lining, they could have just used a desk stapler and it would have been good as new.
I'm betting they couldn't find their hot glue gun and figured a little waxed dental floss would do the trick.
You matched the leather's patina quite well! Looks like a beautiful new bag.
This type of craftsmanship comes naturally to Steve. Some people work at it because they want to earn a living, but Steve obviously cares and that's what customers want
I can so relate to his initial reaction of seeing that crap job, I came accross things like that all the time as a telecom technician :/
When the customer was opening the box, I wondered how high the husband's anxiety was. Wondered if he was trying to think how he was going to console her if the bag was not much better than before. I think his relief must have been so acute when he saw that beautiful job and how happy his wife was. What a Superlative job, Steve.
I’m not a leather worker, I just draw for fun, but This is appalling... the nerve of some people. I feel for you Maria, thank God for saviours like Bedo.

Omg you are amazing!!! Your bags videos calm me down a lot hahaha your voice and your work is so great! Keep it up! ❤
Steve, the bag looks amazing! Don’t sweat the little stuff like the stitch length. In this case as you made all new straps the fact that it’s a little off has absolutely no affect on the bag or it’s structure! You wanna see a mess you should see the disaster that is the back of my first quilt, LOL! Nothing lines up at all some of the lines are 3/4 of a inch off! Not worrying about it as hay it’s the underside I’m the only one who will see it!
In your line of work, please continue to sweat the little stuff. That's the difference.
