    I have a genetic defect that prevents my body from converting folic acid into folate. Since genetic testing I have taken a quality methyl folate supplement. My mental health provider did the genetic testing, this genetic defect contributed to my life long folate deficiency, anemia and depression . I also have celiac disease. Complicated medical history. Took 70 years to get this straightened out. Do not give up, it is never too late to get healthy. Changed my life!

    I tried taking some methylfolate 4 days ago and my nerves got worse again. Waking up with pins and tingling in my feet, cold toes etc. Neuropathy pain and tingling in extremities and even chest nerves. Earlier this month, B12 also made it worse and possibly B6. B6 is bad for neurological pain for a lot of people but I wasn't expecting this from B9 or B12. Not sure what's going on here, it's so hard to get the proper ratios of all of these nutrients.

      Try taking glycine and glutamine before taking folate

    • @robzreelz
      @robzreelz 9 місяців тому

      @@sumitjaiswal6901 That's interesting. I was considering getting glycine for glutathione production and for helping rebuild collagen. Is that why you mention it?

      @@robzreelz actually I read in some comments that glycine actually helps in absorption of folate.. and vitamin b3 also helps in overcoming the side effects of folate supplements.. it would be helpful if you please give an update after taking glycine and folate.

      tingling means that the nerves are not isolated = myelin sheath is not properly build.
      Knowing nothing about your med history, but I think good quality dha 1000 mg per day, TMG and NAD booster like NMN, Nam, or NA can help. Don't forget nutrition ! 3 eggs per day at least, and max 100g carbs, with most calories from mufa fat and saturated fat

      I’m so interested in finding this kind of information out. Did your doctor just order these tests for you? Did you ask the doctor to check? Or did you get a specific kind of testing done to find out your nutrient levels. Sorry for so many questions

      The reason your B12 is so high, that means it's in your blood and you're not absorbing any of it.. cannot make my nurse practitioner understand this. High levels in the blood equals pernicious anemia. Not absorbing any in your stomach.

      The 1.3k value of B12 is likely from a blood draw. When did you take your supliment? At least you know your stomach is working!😂😊

    Every time I have lab work done it always comes back I'm anemic even tho I take iron supplements, and my cholesterol is off the charts . Could this be the cause?

    • @HealthyLife4Me
      @HealthyLife4Me 9 місяців тому +4

      You aren’t supposed to take iron or calcium. For iron deficiency it’s copper and zinc

    • @ladyluck7389
      @ladyluck7389 9 місяців тому

      My dr always tells me to take iron pills. I do but then read I need vitamin c for absorption. Problem being I'm still anemic . So I was hoping this was my answer " folate"

    • @monnoo8221
      @monnoo8221 9 місяців тому +1

      which cholesterol? total cholesterol does not tell you anything. Which type of anemia? anemia or iron deficiency?
      folate and b12 are needed to produce red blood cells. If deficient, it can be seen in the size and size distribution of RBC, which is part of std lab on blood.

    • @goldstar846
      @goldstar846 9 місяців тому

      @ladyluck You might need an iron infusion.
      I struggle to absorb iron and have hard anemia issues.
      ferritin is my problem. cant fill the storage tanks even tho all the other levels are ok.
      wear a smart watch to bed one that check your oxygen thro the night.
      Mine is very poor and has been a game changer to getting treatment. didnt even know it was a problem until i got my watch and wear it to bed.
      they will look harder at your digestive track...sleep studies...and full iron studies to get to the reason why you are not getting better. Im still in the looking for my cause and effect...but are well on the way to figuring it out. good luck.... start with a watch to track your sleep!! :-) (when I take iron with folate before bed..my oxygen doesn't drop over night. according to my watch readings. )
