If you've seen all these shots already, I applaud you. If you have suggestions for a part 2, leave them below (ideally with the UA-cam link and timestamp). Thanks!
I don't think we will see another Tiger Woods for a long time. He changed the game and raised the bar like no other golfer. The level of competition today is just outstanding, and that is a direct effect of Tiger. Ernie, Phil and others will admit he was just better than everyone else.
At the height of his powers: Tiger Woods was virtually untouchable, this was due in part to the sheer intimidation factor of playing a virtual sporting icon who never seemed to make a mistake.
@ゆみす魔王 yep...we here this type of hyperbole with athletes all the time...there is always someone who will come along and break the records ...many people think Nicklaus is still the goat
Back in the height of good career, I used to tell people, “if Tiger’s playing I’m watching golf and if he’s not playing, I’m playing golf!” Very exciting.
It is obvious that Tiger has natural talent.Luck wasn't on his side.Pain can really hinder progress. But his determination would make him a champ again. He needs time.God bless u Tiger.
My favorite of all time was the shot he hit out of fairway bunker I believe up in Canada. As I recall he had like 200 yards with about 195 a forced carry over water and almost no room behind the pin. The announcers reaction to the shot was priceless.
That’s an excellent video mate - we’ll put together - good written comments through it as well. He really is the GOAT - lost his way in his personal life for a while, but seems to have mellowed out over the past few years which is good to see.
Why do we talk about his personal life? You cannot tell me the cluster of men playing golf were all complete angels. If Tiger werent Black and the women in his life white, we never hear men including his personal life when talking about his legendary golf career. That is just a reality!
I know it’s a popular shot, but Tiger’s shot at the ‘02 PGA out of the fairway bunker doesn’t seem to be talked about enough. He calls it the best shot he’s ever hit. I still can’t fathom how anyone could even hook a 3 iron off a downhill/cut lie out of a bunker over trees (with a 20 mph crosswind coming from the left). Could be the one of the best shots ever.
I know the man was on a completely other level from 1999-2009, but honest to God how he hit that shot is mind boggling. I’ve played Hazeltine a couple of times and went over to that spot and couldn’t even imagine how he did it. It was without a doubt the best shot in the history of golf in my opinion.
@@robertcampbell8027 You might be right and Ernie might have said that at some point, but I’m wondering if you’re thinking about the story that Feherty told. Tiger and and Ernie were paired at Firestone and Feherty was with their group doing commentary. Tiger hit his tee shot left into some thick hay and I thick Feherty said he had like 190 yards left to the green. Steve Williams told Feherty Tiger was hitting wedge so he just assumed he was pitching out, but he took a Bryson DeChambeau swing and put the ball to maybe 10-12 feet. Feherty could manually open and close his mic so the audience could hear him and apparently Feherty forgot to turn his mic off and right at that moment Ernie walked by and said f**k me. Since Feherty’s mic was open everybody who was watching on TV heard it.
Looking at these shots, he was and still is the only golfer who could hit them. Those long irons played with a high cut are unbelievable. Always be the greatest in my opinion.
Great video! His third round at the 2007 US Open was some of hist best ball striking ever I think, the swing on this day was just pure and had a great rythm. His performance at the 2006 wgc in England is a bit forgotten, so many great shots at the Grove that year.
0:56 hitting past the 652 yard par 5 hole in that era’s equipment was ridiculous. That swing was so powerful and accurate. I miss watching peak Tiger live on TV. I’ve been watching golf since 95 and nothing has been as exciting as Tiger’s era.
one of his first great shots was the playoff against Tom Lehman in probably his 2nd or 3rd PGA tournament. stuck it to about 2 feet in the first playoff hole. it was beautiful.
and what I noticed, live, and in replays, the facial expression on Lehman’s face once he let himself look towards the green. I thought of that moment when I saw Adam Scott win the Players - “the approach shot he had to fish out the water” face / Lehman’s Realization Face
That was a great video, thanks for posting. As an avid golfer and golf fan, I’ve seen a good portion of these shots but it was great to watch great shots I haven’t seen yet. Impressive that you found them. Make more plz!
so glad I got to see his career , a. few years before tiger, I was thinking no one would ever dominate golf like Jack Arnie , Sam Snead ,and then came T iger
2003 putt @ President's Cup. 2007 28 @ Tour Championship 2000 7 shot comeback @ Pebble Beach 2000 Mercedes Championship, including eagle to force a playoff 1999 PGA Championship high cut into par 5 2001 Arnold Palmer Invitational 18th hole 1997 Mercedes, tap-in to win
Not anything you can see on video but I watched tiger live at the 2013 chevron world challenge during the final round. During his warm up on the range he hit 5 4 irons within 2 yards of each other. It was insane to watch.
You know what the crazy thing from the 2009 pga was, if tiger had won it, he would have won 3 consecutive pga championship starts for him in a row, since he didn’t play in 08
There is one shot I never see on any of these, I don't even recall what course it was, may have been the same hole he had the famous Nike chip shot on but he was about 3' off the green in very thick rough, ball was hardly visible. The flag was only about 10' off the edge of the green and the hole sloped from the fringe (and where Tiger's ball was) towards the hole. If he flopped it out or tried to bump it out it would have rolled miles past the hole. He started taking practice hacks at full swing, like he was hitting a full bunker shot or something. He opened his wedge almost flat, took a massive swing and the ball went straight up in the air about 20' but only went about 3' forward. It hit right on the fringe, hopped a little and then started to trickle down towards the hole and stopped about 3" in front of the cup. To take a full swing when you are only 13' from the pin takes massive talent and massive balls. I just wish I knew what tournament it was in. It is never on any of the highlight videos because it didn't go it but it was one of the best shots I have even seen him make.
1999 PGA Championship. Sergio’s jump got all the attention but Tiger hit a 251 yard 2 iron cut from a downhill lie in the rough onto the green but I don’t remember what hole. It blew McCords mind.
Does anyone remember what shot it was that the commentator said something like "I dont want to hear that, thank you" in response to the club Tiger was playing
only the tiger with his alien shots could do something like that lol ... i so wish he couplld do those again ... but for his injuries etc ... we just dont know .. but its tiger anything can happen 😁
There’s this 1 shot I can’t find anywhere. 2010 pga 2nd round 18th hole @ Whistling Straits. Tiger plays a cute a 3 wood from 260 yds out of the Bunker, lands it 40 feet and almost makes the putt
If you've seen all these shots already, I applaud you. If you have suggestions for a part 2, leave them below (ideally with the UA-cam link and timestamp). Thanks!
A little over 200, 6-Iron out of the fairway bunker, over water to a shallow pin placement at the Canadian Open(?)... Knocked it right over the flag.
Very well done video!
Teddy, you could dedicate an entire channel to underrated golf shots

Uhh no
@ゆみす魔王 yep...we here this type of hyperbole with athletes all the time...there is always someone who will come along and break the records ...many people think Nicklaus is still the goat
Yeah but tiger made the average person want to watch golf and go play it. He changed the game
@@polaroidwhite9037 No there almost definately won't be. Nobody will ever be as dominant again and nobody will ever change the game like he did.

2000 Bell Canadian Open at Glen Abbey. One of the greatest golf shots ever.

Easily my favourite Tiger shot. I hope that I'm Canadian doesn't make me biased haha!
218 yards . 6-iron.

4 iron from 202 yards to 8 feet. Side hill lie .
I’m not certain, but that might be the shot that drove Ernie Els to ask the rhetorical question: “How the f**k are we supposed to compete with that?”
@@robertcampbell8027 You might be right and Ernie might have said that at some point, but I’m wondering if you’re thinking about the story that Feherty told. I love when he wears white shoes on the Sunday, the colors of my soccer team, Sao Paulo FC, 3-time FIFA world cup club champion
As a Tiger fan since day one - this was such an amazing stroll down memory lane. Amazing, amazing work on this video.

I’ll look into those rounds!
Under Haney , his driving accuracy suffered , but his irons were definitely dialed in.
I tried finding that 3rd round in 2007 on YT and cannot find it. I remember that round where he was on fire but couldn’t putt.
The man popularized modern golf
People who could have cared less about golf used to huddle around the TV to see this guy's work, his magic on the course!!
Awesome compilation! In his best years he had so many great moments that it would take a series of videos to cover. 😁
Love how he knows immediately and so often that his approaches are perfect

I was there on Friday at Southern Hills for the PGA Championship. Followed him all day.
220 with an 8 iron is insanity
thanks for making this, teddy. hard to believe how many incredible shots Tiger has hit (and will continue to hit) throughout his career.
