The amount of hard work tiger has put into the game of golf is incredible and to think that he still at times to this very day can pull off the impossible
I was part of Tigers security team for a few days when he played in Shanghai back about 2005. He does not look it on TV but he is really buff. Really solidly built. I understand how he can drive that far now.
Yeah, I always knew Tiger had both strength and control in spades, but I didn't realize JUST how strong until I saw his physique. His traps, lats, and lumbar muscles are MASSIVE. Reminds me of both Christian Ronaldo and Lewis Hamilton, actually.
“Think strength is not an advantage, it’s just not a fair fight” is what Roger Maltbie said, he mentioned it in an interview a few years back. Definitely doesn’t sound like that on the interview though haha
Tiger was fearless in his 20’s and attempted those impossible shots because his body was much more limber and forgiving. The combination of building muscle mass, applying that crazy torque and an aging body add up to a wrecked back. He paid the price for his reckless youth but gave us some incredible and historic golf moments. Thanks Tiger. 👍🏼

Amazing read that was the only thing keeping me up at night during long overnight stints as an air traffic controller.
I truly believe this, if Tiger just kept his regular body ; the body he had in the early years of his success, like in 97 thru 2000, or so.. Tigers body began to look like that of a strong safety, around I think about 2005 or 06 and he still had wins left in him , but I don't think he ever reached the majestic heights that he reached in 2000-2002, It seemed that when his body was that of a regular golfer, he was other worldly, when he bulked up his game just never reached those levels like in the beginning.

Tiger IS the GOAT! Literally legitimized golf as a sport of athletes instead of flubby duffing couch potatoes. Course managers and equipment manufacturers all tried to stop him by doing the best they could to not only impede his onslaught but also level the playing field...if werent for the quick progression of tech during Tiger's era nobody would've been able to keep up with his athleticism and creativity...

It's a sad thought that we may never again see Tiger at this level again. Great romancing the stone stories from legendary announcers. Thanks for the memories. I watched a good third of them on TV and managed to see his Pebble Beach heroics in the Open some years back.
They said from the beginning of his career that the only person that would be capable of beating him is himself. It seems that's how all legends go out.

These highlight reels don't show the total picture of Tiger's fearlessness when it came to risk and reward. He was never perfect. He would miss. But he was a grinder. Always rose to the challenge. Fed off it. And it was his ability to escape danger that made him such an unstoppable force. The punches, low hooks around trees, threading the needle, the short game, the putting, the lag putting, hitting off pine straw, long bunker shots etc. etc. So glad I got to see him play live a few times in the early 2000s.
these guys are so good im a 2 handicap and i was lucky enough to play a leisurely round of golf with Ernie Els and he was only allowed to use a 3 wood a 7 iron and a sand wedge and he still shot 68 to my 75 and he had to putt with his 7 iron. All these guys are superhuman!
These are not even a measurable amount of shots seen here compared to all the great shots over his entire career. Tiger was truly the best golfer that has ever played the game. The field of golfers now, which most grew up being tiger fans, is so good and competitive now that we may never see the likes of Tiger Woods type success ever again in the sport of golf.
You really think its possible to stop a 120 mph club head swing after the downswing started? Come on! He obviously decides to stop before he starts the downswing
@@8823samuel No, they actually are capable of those kinds of feats. For example, Tiger, Jack, and Bobby have all re-adjusted on the downswing for a different kind of swing at full speed with drivers, and I even saw a TM video where DJ and the other guys were shouting out swings where they had to re-adjust on the downswing (not with the driver, though) -- and they were only about 50% accurate doing that, though. It's not easy or good, but it's possible. You're not talking about average pros here, you're talking about world-class athletes with perfect brain-to-body connections and muscle fibres and reflexes, and Tiger is the best of the best. Why would he have decided before the swing -- you either swing or you don't. That makes zero sense. You heard his comment afterwards: 'I literally felt like I broke every bone in my body doing that.' Having said all that, I would hate to see him do it more than once, that's for sure.
Awesome stuff! 2:21 - Oak Hill CC - 14th hole 2003 PGA - raised green well above the fairway- stood there for practice rounds and listened to player's tee shots - Tiger's ball strike just sounded different from everyone else's contact........which comes as no surprise.
I know this is subjective, but IMO out of the top 20 shots of all time Tiger has most probably hit 15 of them. I mean we have never seen better or more clutch shots than in Tigers career. 🐐
I’ll never forget Curtis Strange interviewing Tiger right before Tiger’s pro debut. Strange asks Tiger how he expects to do and Tiger replies that he expects to win. Never forget the look on Curtis’s face!
He's paid the price for these shots with his back problems though...especially when he stops the swing half way through...but he is the best I have ever seen!!
Tiger has definitely had to adjust his game to more of a “golfer” nowadays. I didn’t get to watch him live in action, but I loved his young gun mentality where it’s like “lay up? Nah fuck it I’m going to try and hole this from 190 yards out” lol. He had that mindset where he really really wanted to prove he was the best, and he did by destroying everyone with a couple of the most absurd golf shots ever.
@@maninblack9850 right, dealing with the change in the publics' perspective of you would have been rough, but I imagine he got over that in a year tops. The problem was and is his health. Look at the video we just watched. He's like Rob Gronkowski of the patriots. They both pushed their gifts to maximum effort, and that comes with a cost. The price you pay is in the latter part of your career, your health will become a weekly struggle. In a way, they gave up longevity for dominance, and that's what made them legends. Hopefully, they've picked up some tricks along the way so they can continue to play for a while yet. Selfishly I want to watch legendary athletes continue to play as long as they can.
@joe johnson he trained like a navy seal. He had a very strict training regimen. golfweek.usatoday.com/2018/02/13/tiger-woods-old-daily-training-routine-will-leave-you-breathless/ He also had a very physical style of play where when he was in his Prime he'd go for the home run ball everytime. If he hit the ball into the rough he'd take out a pound of sod on his next swing to get the ball to the green. It work most of the time. That violent swing and overall approach to the game didnt lend itself towards having a long career. Same goes for Gronk, he never ran out of bounds, he always gave every play 100 percent effort which drove me nuts. But You ask anybody what golfer or tight end theyd have for a 10 year window and everybody would take Tiger and Gronk.
I have all the respect in the world for Jack Nicklaus as a player and person, But the pure golfing skills that Tiger has will NEVER be touched by another golfer that is why he is the Goat.

Underrated comment
1:43 He hit the ball and then the tee in one swing... this man is a legend.
THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤❤WILL BE WATCHING THIS MANY MANY TIMES!!! 😊😊😊😊🐐🐅 THIS IS GOLF GREATNESS.
I could watch Tiger hit all day. Tiger the artist, the engineer, the master.
Did he own slaves too?
matt smith he could if he wanted to
its still legal in Africa, maybe he should go there.
"Like a cubic yard of Ohio flies out and goes about 50 yards up the fairway..." - 5:41 lol
I can't even watch golf if he's not playing. Get better Tiger we all miss you.
I don’t care what anyone have to say about Tiger Woods. He is the Greatest Of All Times!
these guys are so good im a 2 handicap and i was lucky enough to play a leisurely round of golf with Ernie Els and he was only allowed to use a 3 wood a 7 iron and a sand wedge and he still shot 68 to my 75 and he had to putt with his 7 iron. All these guys are superhuman!
I know nothing about golf, but I really enjoyed your series on Tiger Woods.
Thats why tiger is so special man. I take it ur not a big golf fan...but it doesn't matter...people still wanna watch this dude play
Tiger took his game and the whole sport of golf to the next level when he had that 10 year stretch where is was unbeatable.
Absolutely insane
That bunker shot at the 2000 Canadian Open is golf's best ever, honestly.
Agreed
Def agree with you. Hitting that shot alone is unimaginable, then add in where it is in terms of the tournament and it's unfathomable
4:13 is that the sound of the ball spinning... sounds like a fuse of a bomb ....
I think that’s a camera shutter going off
@@hockeyjr81 🤔🤯 thanks. Fredo Corleone : It ain't the way I wanted it! I can handle things! I'm smart!
@@geoffrey8722 If you are smart, you would have realized the obvious in the first place
@@KevinLuWX hence the joke. Fredo was inept. Oh boy!
@@mickym.6711 Who the hell is Fredo
These are not even a measurable amount of shots seen here compared to all the great shots over his entire career. Tiger was truly the best golfer that has ever played the game. The field of golfers now, which most grew up being tiger fans, is so good and competitive now that we may never see the likes of Tiger Woods type success ever again in the sport of golf.
2:52 stop his swing on the down swing Nuff said
That is nearly impossible to achieve.
did you see that !..f... me !
What’s the thing about stopping mid-swing?
5:08
That's the most golf jargon I have ever heard in my life.
Tiger the wizard
Awesome stuff!
2:21 - Oak Hill CC - 14th hole 2003 PGA - raised green well above the fairway- stood there for practice rounds and listened to player's tee shots - Tiger's ball strike just sounded different from everyone else's contact........which comes as no surprise.
1:30 is the greatest best golf shot i've ever seen!
William Muff look at the captions for that shot
Watching golf has always been boring as hell to me. But watching Tiger.....I just kept watching. Never anyone before, or since, kept me watching.
Enquiring minds want to know....
Just exactly WTF did Ernie say?
I'd imagine it's "fucking bullshit" or something to that extent :P
Ernie said “fuck that man”
Looked to me like, "No fucking way!"
What the fuck was that
@@brock2k1 yup
I know this is subjective, but IMO out of the top 20 shots of all time Tiger has most probably hit 15 of them. I mean we have never seen better or more clutch shots than in Tigers career. 🐐
Man I love Gary McCord. He just can’t help but laugh like a little girl when he sees an outrageous shot. 3:20
He's able to sense a carbon fiber shaft that is BEGINNING to break !!
Mike Jenkins: Not me I saw Thomson[ best player of the small ball bar none]
Snead Palmer Player Nicklaus all as good to watch
Tiger has definitely had to adjust his game to more of a “golfer” nowadays. I didn’t get to watch him live in action, but I loved his young gun mentality where it’s like “lay up? Nah fuck it I’m going to try and hole this from 190 yards out” lol. He had that mindset where he really really wanted to prove he was the best, and he did by destroying everyone with a couple of the most absurd golf shots ever.
@@andrewkravmaga1833 There is that and that he was a Black Man in a white mans game
thank you men 🙏 this class of videos puts me the hair on the top
Tiger may be in the hospital, but his son has the best teacher in the game hands down.
I don't even watch golf but this is crazy!! what a goat
2:02 soooo many memories PS2 Tiger Woods PGA omg. Those games were perfect in every way
🤣🤣 when he flips that club u kno it’s a damn good shot! Just savage
It's a good day when I see one of your videos appear on my list!
that one at 4:11 is just music to my ears
3:20 looks like Woody from Toy Story had a brief spell of commentary
to me it kind of sounded like Zilean's laugh from league of legends ua-cam.com/video/2FBPZOzCPdo/v-deo.html
BUZZ LOOK AN ALIEN!!!
0:50 well we’re gonna find out😂 Full send.
3:10 I was there for that shot. i was to the right, 5 people deep. My hair stood up when he tooknthat swipe at thr ball - it was incredible.
Love seeing his aggressive swings. What a beast
If injuries hadn't curtailed a lot of he's career over the last 10 years or so he would have passed Jack's record.
Nicholas Duncan
The infidelity was not a problem. He was won at every stage of his career when healthy.
He had a very strict training regimen. golfweek.usatoday.com/2018/02/13/tiger-woods-old-daily-training-routine-will-leave-you-breathless/
He also had a very physical style of play where when he was in his Prime he'd go for the home run ball everytime.
