I'm more a fan of DCS because it's just more action and more happening. BUT yes, especially when I didn't go back home to the Netherlands for over three years because of living in China during its zero covid policy, flying over my hometown in MSFS was really special, even to be reminded of all the places and streets I had kinda forgotten about.

1:10 that's why head bobbing in games is also stupid. Yes it physically happens in real life. But you don't "see" it because the brain compensates. It can't compensate for poor game dev decisions.

You're flying MSFS in the city I live in (Seattle) at the beginning, and you were looking at my residential building too =) haha. I really wanted to like MSFS as a way to just fly around in a nice looking enviroment but it is a stuttery mess and it's because of CPU bottlenecking more than GPU -- at least if you have a higher end system. Further, the sim flat out crashes all the time for me and that is unacceptable for me; and I've spend many many hours trying to debug the issue as a software engineer myself. The information I see really points to "this game isn't built well." Nothing about my hardware or drivers is beta or uncommon for flight sim.
MSFS is probably a great training tool for GA, but as a graphical beauty...it is not that to me. MSFS tries to go in the direction of "looking real" and while above 10k feet looking down it accomplishes that well. DCS looks great at altitude as well and contextually, I'm never looking for DCS to really look like anything I'm familar with because I've never been anywhere the DCS maps models except for the NTTR map.

My bad. Those twin buildings at 0:48 look strikingly similar but I realize now the backdrop is entirely different 😅 The architect likely does buildings in both cities that look very similar
I have a legitimate question that i can not get a straight answer to.
I want to try VR. The new Cristal light sounds like a good option. But i can't find anything that tells me what GPU is needed. I mean, Pimax says the RX6600 will run it. But that doesn't mean it will run it properly.

I have a Pimax Crystal, but…
I have a double image in everything that is in motion relatively to my airplane in DCS, even a little in MSFS. Do you know what that is? How can I fix it?
I have tried every possible settings, and I even thought it was IPD adjustments, but no changes what so ever… even if I close one eye the double image is still there!!!
Low resolution or ultra resolution in DCS and in Pimax settings app, the problem is always the same.
2 imagens of everything, one is more transparent then the other.
Even inside the cockpit if I move my head side to side the numbers get a little double too.
I have a 4080, 64Ram bla bla bla…

I bought the crystal and it DCS is jerky as hell when I turn my head left or right making it unusable with DCS. Can you make a video showing your VR and DCS settings? I'm using the steam light house face plate. Note that I have no issues when playing steam games such as VTOL VR, I just have issues with DCS.
I would recommend you stop using anything steam related. If your DCS is run through steam, I would recommend moving it to standalone and get rid of the overhead.
@@wildbillkelso2083 I don't run DCS through steam, I use Open composite, PimaXR Control Center, and OpenXR Toolkit as per the Pimax FAQ, but DCS is not playable due to the severe jerkiness when I turn my head left or right. Note that with Track IR, everything is smooth as silk even on a 4K monitor with the maximum DCS graphical settings.

interesting using gaza as a backdrop for this video, I'm blown away by how realistic it all looks. flightsim really got this shit down.
Cap for your large wargame videos you should have a map display at the top right of the screen so while you are focused on details we can still see whats happening on the map. You could do this by having one screen record the map for the entire battle while you proceed with your in game filming then just overlay the video at the top right. I know I would really enjoy it I'm sure your other viewers would as well!
I used to do this a while back but got too many complaints from cell phone/small screen viewers claiming they couldn't see the map. Wasn't worth the stress so ditched it.

Can you do what range can the S-400 see the B-21?
In DCS S-400 can not see B-21 at any range. It is a game bug/anomaly.

Are you flying MSFS on Win10 or Win11? I ask, because i get a CTD when entering VR. I heard something about trouble for win11 user with nvidia cards.
