The best way I can describe this version is anguish. The original was bittersweet knowing it was the end but still having the memories. This one is like trying desperately to not allow this story to end.

The original encapsulated the sadness of the ending with Sora fading away. This captures a different element of the song that is equally important - Determination, to bring him back.
Agreed, this is Kairi determined that she wants Sora for a lifetime and she WILL get him back.

Putting Xion's death and the War was powerful and hurtful in the "Kiss me once" part as was putting all the characters together like that stunning as ever
I just love how any non-Kingdom Hearts would be so confused considering this song sounds so romantic, yet the gorgeous movie is full of sad scenes and fighting 😂

Hikaru utada herself sings the whole thing and wrote it.... I would suggest you listen to her English version of it. Utada is fluent in three languages, and sings in two of them.
Of all the Japanese singers who became popular, I would say utada is one of the few that had genuine musical talent. She plays multiple instruments, rights music, sings multiple styles, has shifted from r&b and rap all the way into classical music with harps.
Amalee keeps surprising me and oh my god the art is giving me so much feelings because the violin makes it sound soooo goood. Like legit, this video is one of my favorites from Amalee now. MAY YOU HEART BE YOUR GUIDING KEY
Oh that line they tried too shoehorn into kh3. Seriously I like the line " may your heart be your guiding key" but the game being like oh yen sid said it every time sora went on an adventure under his breath is stupid and I dont like it.

Who didn't get a happy ending? I mean, Kairi and Sora got separated but we're gonna be trying to fix that in the next game, clearly. The wayfinder trio get back together, the sea salt trio are back together, even NAMINE has her own body. I thought Nomura would just forget about Namine like everyone forgot about Xion (except Sora, somehow). TBH the best part of KH3 for me was seeing the Guardian confirmed as Terra's Heartless, a long-standing fan theory.

I've probably listened to this song the most on the album, it's easily one of my favorites, never even played KH, it's just an amazing cover, great one to end the year off with.

As someone who is presently learning what love is for the first time in their life, this song rips at my heartstrings. Because I want to love it. I want to sing it to the heavens. But every time I want to, I keep thinking about the one I'm developing feelings for. And I get stuck at the crossroads. Do I back off? Do I keep going? Pursue the feelings however small they may be, or go back to a life without this? Chase a far off dream, or keep hanging on to scattered memories?
I'd keep going with the reference, but I don't know where our pieces line up. I don't know if this person is meant to be my friend, or meant to be the Kairi to my Sora. I don't know. Given right now I'm still figuring things out... We'll find out soon.

@@richardcory6267 To put things simply... I was very bluntly told that they do not see me the way I see them. We're still friends, at least, but I'll forever wish that I could hold them like I want to. That I could cherish them as a Kairi, not as a Jasmine. If that makes sense.

Am I the only one that teared up when the silhouette of Twilight Tower was shown, and then cried a little at the Sea Salt trio? God, I love that trio so much. I bawled when they showed up in 3, cried so hard I had to rewatch the ending twice 'cause I couldn't see the first time after they were all on the tower together. And then when I got them in Melody of Memory?? I teared up when I saw their main menu screen, and it is now my "background" for my PS4 profile. Ugh, I love them.
Everything about this is just so well made dude, the composition, animation and of course vocals. I'm always so baffled by your videos, you can't even imagine. This being a Kingdom Hearts song makes it only better ^^

After catching up on the series for a long time, I've finally gotten around to KH3 this month in 2022. This cover hits so much harder now that I've heard the original!
I have begun a journey which involves listening to this specific cover at least one time per day.

Personally never played Kingdom Hearts but my god this song sells it well
As long as you're willing to accept how overly-complicated the overarching story is, it's a very rewarding series to play in my opinion. It's incredibly sappy and doofy, but it works really well in getting you invested in the characters and the hardships they have to go through.

This is a great companion piece to the face my fears cover you did. It’s visuals are strikingly similar but instead of radiating hope and excitement like the opening this radiates a somber tone almost one of grief. You truly captured the essence of both opening and ending without being direct copies of the original. TLDR GREAT WORK
