    Thank you for the multiple slow strums!! That makes such a good difference starting out, hearing the notes, then the overtones. Thank you for everything. I'm very excited for Alvarez and their Laureate.

    Such a beautiful looking guitar. Love the subtle burst and the color. The Baggs HiFi sounds better than the cheap piezo systems too. Too bad they didn’t wait for the new HiFi Duet system that is coming out now. Great work on the video production and playing. I’m impressed by the big sound coming from this model. 👍🏻

    Sounds great. The Hi-Fi cuts well through the mix without sticking out. But I think I would need the Duet for solo playing. Hoping that L.R Baggs comes out with an upgrade kit.

    Just bought a Laureate parlor , wow🌹😮. Impeccable quality build, phenomenal tone & phenomenal harmonics 🔔with easy to play short scale 🎶🎵Added two 1-1/4” diameter upper sound ports & Ebony arm rest like my Hill classical, provides a slight player side sonic enhancement 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

    How does it compare to the Masterworks 60BG? I have one and it’s incredible!

    Not sure why but the HI FI pickup sounds fantastic in this guitar but I have seen it in other guitars where it sounds lousy. Are you post processing the signal?

    • @tarpley-music
      @tarpley-music  6 місяців тому

      No post-production is done to the instrument demo recordings. We wanted to keep it true to the original signal. We do record Hi-Res 24-bit/192 kHz files, but with UA-cam processing crush we’re not sure that even translates in the end.
      Could be that others have doctored the signal to their tastes instead of just letting it be or their interface/DI is coloring the signal. We use the Focusrite Clarett8+ Pre, which has Hi-Z JFET inputs that we utilize for the acoustic direct signal. Low noise and crazy high impedance giving the truest possible representation of the electronics of the guitar.

      The HiFi sounds great when installed properly! If you've heard it sound lousy it was likely a poor installation. It can be very sensitive to a variety of common bridgeplate and bracing issues. It generally doesn't need much post processing at all, but every guitar needs some level of EQ at least, as all pickups are influenced by the guitar they are installed on.

    This thing sounds fantastic and the price is good. Honestly though, how is the playability compared to say a domestic taylor? I find Taylor guitars have the best playability but don't always sound great IMO. This sounds good at a fraction of the price. I think my next guitar is going to be an Eastman or Alvarez. I am really impressed with both these brands. Just a suggestion but the music accompaniment is distracting in analyzing the sound. Demo playing with finger picking and heavy strumming is. Thanks for the content you provide. Cheers.

      The Taylor playability is superior. No question. It’s what they do best, and they do it better than anyone in their price point. - Thanks for the comment, however we’re still going to continue the “In the Mix” because it is a good creative exercise and a lot of people have gotten value from it in other videos. It’s just not useful for you and that’s totally fine. - We have really expanded the demo section to include different styles & setups from direct to the different types of microphones, and we have extended the demo from 3-5min to 7-15min to give viewers more time to listen.

      @@tarpley-music Is it possible with a good setup to reach the same level of playability and maintain it with a set neck guitar. I have played taylors and love them but never owned one.

      You can absolutely get to the same level of playability with a set neck. It will probably require some tinkering with bridge height and neck adjustments to get the action set to your liking, and once you get to that point it’s just simple upkeep and making sure the guitar is properly humidified to keep the wood from swelling/shrinking.

    Is east Indian rosewood made from stolen gift cards?

    You know, Alvarez needs some humility. To call a release "esteemed" before it gets into many players' hands is just arrogant.
