I would never want to speed like that on a dual sport anyway.

I've never tried to top out my DR650, but I have been over 95 (stock gearing) and it had throttle left in it. I cruise at 80+ a lot and the bike feels great. Nice vid. Thanks.

WHY EVEN DO THIS FOR 98!?!??!?! For fuck sakes, if somethings worth doing its worth doing well. Get back out there and show us a 100!!!!

This video does not confirm 100 mph nor 98 mph, nor even 90 mph, it's just you talking John. Sheesh ...

I had mine up to 102 before I put my 14t front sprocket. With mods and gearing the dr can push 120 as 65elcamino283 did here ua-cam.com/video/_0mMdvacWeI/v-deo.html Thanks for dispelling that one as too many people are misinformed about the mighty DR Rock On!

No doubt it will do 100. I have one and I've done it, but only once just to see if it would. Then, I installed a JE high comp piston, web 223 cam, TM40 pumper carb, fmf full exhaust, k&n air filter and the opened up air box. Very costly mods but fun and worth it to me. Lots more power everywhere, tons of pull! Redline remains the same so top speed is probably unchanged with stock gearing but I haven't tried it with the Mods yet. But it makes for a really fun street bike!

The tires you are running is the limiting factor. Dirt tires at not meant to run over 100 mph.

Mine has done 100 and a little more easily. Does it all the time no matter the circumstance as long as the road is open and I am a big fatass. If you have a circumstance where you can not hit 100 then you need to probably rejet or your bike is just worn out perhaps...

the bike has less then 2000 miles its not worn out im sure a worn out dr would have like at least 50 k on it........ other people have the same results. this is gps speed not indicated.

FWIW mine has about 15K and a 14 T front sprocket and I run GPS speedo on the phone just like you did. I think about 103 was my top indicated if I recall and I didn't feel the need to test it any further, but I also opened the snorkle hole on my airbox, swapped to a Twinair filter, and rejetted as well.

Stock I top out at 110mph 2019 dr650 all the time, 112mph going down hills and in the wind on highway. Coasting between 60-90mph. Hate the sound of 4gear on the dr so theres really only 3gears in my opinion

Given that is was still accelerating, albeit slowly, at 97-98 mph it's pretty obvious that it will definitely do 100+ unless it were to suddenly hit the rev limiter before that happens. It has the power to pull probably another 3-5 mph on top of your 98.
My DRZ400SM with a few mods (3x3, jetting, exhaust) will hit 103 mph on the meter, but the speedo of the DRZ400SM is notoriously inaccurate and the real speed was GPS confirmed at 96. I can't break 100 mph on it in its current form, but then again that's utterly irrelevant anyway. You don't buy a dual sport or a supermoto to go 100 mph other than to just see if it's possible.

I do top speed of 110 on my dr650 all the time like nothing.

Now that you have the TM40, it should get to 100 a little quicker.
