Glad the video was helpful. When I recorded this ACX had a stated turn around time of 30 business days but some books took me MONTHS to get approved. I did two books with them this past year and they were both approved within their new 10 business day approval window, getting much better on timing!

For certain issues, ACX will kick back the file before you submit. This is file type, bit rate, decibel peaks, etc. You can check all the files using the AudioLab www.acx.com/audiolab first and have your editor clean it up before you submit. Some other kinds of edits wouldn't be caught until after you submit and the files go through a manual QA. Best of luck!
Is it too specific a topic to ask if you know about publishing third-party content? I've been asked to learn how to do audio book publishing, but it is not my voice nor my words. The speaker is dead and his wife, I assume, owns the rights to the work. How do I create this product for her so she gets paid?
Hi Daniel, It sounds like she is the rights holder and you would be the narrator. She would just need to have an account with Findaway and then you would provide the audio files for upload.
Hi Christian, For exclusivity it is by format. Kindle Select only requires eBook exclusivity and ACX exclusivity is only for the audiobook. You can have one format out wide and the others can be exclusive if you so choose. Best of luck! - MK

Hi, I recorded an audiobook without creating separate audio files for areas "Part 1, Part 2 Part 3" these are included in the chapters they correspond to. Can I upload to ACX without having to record the "parts" in separate files?
If the only text is "Part 1" "Part 2" Part 3" I would suggest just going in and adding that to the beginning of the chapters that start each section. That way listeners still know which section of the book they are in. Best of luck!
I numbered all of the individual chapters/audio files for the intro through the conclusion. Do I also need to number the opening and closing credits and retail sample or can they just be titled without the sequence? For example 00-Opening Credits or Opening Credits? 18-Retail Audio Sample or Retail Audio Sample

Hi M.K. Thank you for this video. I have acx as a narrator but I don't seem to see this section of 'Title not posted' on my projects dashboard. Where can I find it please?
Hi Fiona, Are you still working through ACX to find a narrator or have you selected the narrator and are waiting for them to post the files?
@@1MKWilliams I am a narrator on acx and I just released a children's book on amazon. I decided to narrate it myself but I can't seem to see how to upload my audio file onto acx for distribution. On my narrator profile, I don't see the section to claim title and when I tried to open another account, amazon's system wouldn't let me. How do I go about creating an author profile or better still, uploading my audio onto acx or audible or amazon. 🤔.....sorry it's a bit long. Thanks for your help!
Hi Fiona, has the book been available for preorder on Amazon for at least 24 hours, sometimes there is a bit of a delay. At this point I would recommend contacting ACX customer service. Best of luck!
@@1MKWilliams thanks for your responses MK. I have now sent them an email. Waiting for their response. 🙏🏼
Very helpful video thank you! I’m curious about how long did it take for ACX to approve the audiobook? I have self published my first book and it’s available on Amazon via paperback, ebook and hardcover, do you think it would be ok to launch the book before the audiobook is made available? I did not realize it can take up to 30 days to get approved.
Glad the video was helpful. When I recorded this ACX had a stated turn around time of 30 business days but some books took me MONTHS to get approved. I did two books with them this past year and they were both approved within their new 10 business day approval window, getting much better on timing!
@@1MKWilliams Thank you for the response!
Hello, thank you for this really helpful. Would you know why when I try searching the book it's not pulling up? Have you ever encountered this issue before?
Yes, it can sometimes take 24-48 hours after you publish the book via KDP for it to show in ACX. Best of luck
Can I add html, rich text, to my audiobook description in ACX? Related question: how do I upload the Publisher's Summary text to ACX? Very helpful video, thanks!
Hi Steve, Yes, the book description that is imported from Kindle is already formatted using HTML for paragraph brakes, italics, etc.
@@1MKWilliams Thanks, that's much appreciated. How about the Publisher's Summary text that's listed in the Audible description? Do you know how I might request that?
Hi M.K. Great tutorial! Question: I will be uploading my book in the next couple of days. If ACX finds issues with one or more of my files, can I have my Audio Editor clean it up and resubmit it, or do I have to wait for ACX to get back to me?
For certain issues, ACX will kick back the file before you submit. This is file type, bit rate, decibel peaks, etc. You can check all the files using the AudioLab www.acx.com/audiolab first and have your editor clean it up before you submit. Some other kinds of edits wouldn't be caught until after you submit and the files go through a manual QA. Best of luck!
@@1MKWilliams Excellent reply! Thanks so much!
Great video. Can I go from Kindle to Audible only?
Hi Christian, For exclusivity it is by format. Kindle Select only requires eBook exclusivity and ACX exclusivity is only for the audiobook. You can have one format out wide and the others can be exclusive if you so choose. Best of luck! - MK
Hi M.K., thank you so much for this video. Id like to know how can I connect my audiobook and ebook with whispersync? Thank you in advance ☺ Best wishes 👋
Hi Zoltan, Great question. The requirements are changing and ACX is trying to get these updates for authors, check out this FAQ from KDP: kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/topic/G201014330
Quick question do I have to have a book on Amazon already to be able to publish a book on acx ? 😅
Yes, you have to claim the book on ACX so it needs to already be on Amazon in order to do that.
@@1MKWilliams I have seen audiobooks on Audible that don't have an ebook or kindle book associated with it. How can we do this?
@@relaxationstation3273 hmmm I'm sure there is a way, I just haven't had to do that yet. Next time I upload I'll give it a look.
@@1MKWilliams okay thank you ☺️
I'm from India, Can I upload my audiobook to acx?
Hi Rakshith, I don't believe so, however you can work with Findaway Voices. They distribute to Audible and Amazon as well and work with authors around the world.
Hello M.K thank you so much for the video. I have a ready book for ACX. I tried thousand times to add my book but after I have a book ready and continue it didn't go to the next page. I don't know what's the problem is. Do you have any idea? Thank you so much
So sorry to hear that. Not sure what the issues could be without seeing the error message. I would suggest reaching out to ACX directly and inquiring. Best of luck!
@@1MKWilliams Thank you anyway. I sent an email to them
Hi mam, can i do it with mobile
I think you can upload from mobile to ACX but I highly recommend using a desktop or laptop.
@@1MKWilliams thanks, alot mam, i know, but i wanna make sure is it worth to do it at least wanna try then start, i also search alot but never find a good step by step for bigenners, cause i never do any kind of markiting or earn from internet, is it realy true mam,? If i ask ur contact would u mind! Any way thanks for ur time, have a nice day
Hi, I recorded an audiobook without creating separate audio files for areas "Part 1, Part 2 Part 3" these are included in the chapters they correspond to. Can I upload to ACX without having to record the "parts" in separate files?
If the only text is "Part 1" "Part 2" Part 3" I would suggest just going in and adding that to the beginning of the chapters that start each section. That way listeners still know which section of the book they are in. Best of luck!
@@1MKWilliams Thanks. That's what I did. Awesome.
@@shannvanderleek1111 you should be okay without numbering the credits and sample. Good question!
@@1MKWilliams Thank you!
Hello mam
Can you upload my audiobook on acx please 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Hi Balkar, Unfortunately I am not offering those services at this time. Best of luck with your audiobook.
M.K., why did you decide to narrate the book yourself? Just to save yourself money? You could have saved yourself time if you'd hired a narrator.
Hi David, I really like the process of learning new skills and sharing them on this channel so I did my first audiobook as a dual benefit of learning something new and seeing if I could save. I spent a lot of time learning, recording, and editing so now a huge savings in that regard but it has been fun to learn.
How you gon return it for up to a year !? That’s dumb. What type of mess is this ?!
