No, but I experienced the stress of my gf having to be interviewed right up until 40 minutes before boarding. we carefully watched videos on what she would need, gathered all documents - even our first messages to eachother from 3 years earlier. Photos, documents, signed affidavits, everything. I flew over specially to be there as further confirmation of our relationship, if necessary. The line for ticketing was very slow, and the line for passport control was slow. Finally, we got to the front and presented our passports together, mine was quickly stamped; her's...they waited and looked and waiting and looked, and then asked her to step out of line and head over to some offices located to the left of passport control. I was told to wait outside but I could see into the office, where she and 3 other women (no men!) waited. And waited. and waited. I think it was about 30 minutes later before she started her interview. And another 20-30 minutes before she came back out, successfully! Sadly, one of the other women was denied and off-loaded. My gf related to me that they asked for everything we had prepared, and when she mentioned that I'd met her family (my first trip there I took her family to lunch and we spend the day together) they ask for a photo as proof! Fortunately, she had one, but it is a sign that you can never be sure what they will ask or want. So be prepared to place your whole life story and every detail of your relationship in physical form (paperwork, photos, etc). Fortunately, since that first encounter, she has had no issues since.

I could almost swear that we're the only country that gives their citizens so much stress/anxiety to travel. Sometimes it feels like they're keeping us prisoner in our own country with all of the unnecessary offloading. Also as someone who's been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, it's tough for me to mentally prepare the night before a flight. The past two trips I got no sleep, worried that immigration would still deny me, even with complete requirements. I doubt the Philippine immigration will ever change though, I can only pray that it gets better.

My friends and I went to Bali for a four day trip and 2 of my friends were first time traveler flying out of the country, full disclosure here: Watch out for Officer Juntura!!! He asked for return ticket, I showed it and the Air BnB Villa information where we will be staying. The officer wanted to know my relationship with my friends and asked a photo if I travel with them, I showed the photos of our recent photo vacation to Boracay with my friends and I thought that was the end. He actually asked the 2 who I was with them after I’ve done explaining. Yup, watch out for him. Unprofessional and I tweeted about him for his actions!

Bakit di tayo gumaya sa ibang bansa pag aalis you are free to go but when you’re arriving to another country that’s the time you get scrutinized by their immigration
    Saka I classify nila
Kung OFW yan maglagay sila ng sariling line for them
Kung tourist then line for the tourist
Di naman mahirap yan kailangan lang I Ayos
Kasi ang pilipinas pinaka complicado at pinaka Magulo sa lahat
    Walang disiplina
I’m a Filipino pero nakakapagod at nakaka stress ang Ganito ng sistema
Other Asian countries ang ayos pagdating mo pa lang sa airport nila
Sa hongkong me pila for domestic helper , tourist and residents
Sana ganon saka wag na tagalan ang pagtatanong
Kung suspicious why not pero patabihin mo na sa isang tabi itawag mo ng ibang immigration officer para di cla maka abala sa pila
Japan is very clean and organized
The most disciplined country in Asia
This is what’s so nice in going to different countries you learn their culture
Masyado na nahuhuli ang pilipinas sa ibang bansa
Sobra kasi ang corruption at maraming magnanakaw mismo pa sa govt , sa airport at kahit Saang lugar
Our standard being a Filipino is low
Napakaganda ng ating bansa pero maraming baluktot na standard ng pamumuhay
Kasi me mga taong gobyerno ine exploit mismo ang kappa Filipino
Sad truth but it’s happening every single day

Sad part about this is some of these employees were hired through connections, not by what they are qualified for. Not enough training and since they work in a place where they have authority, they will power-trip just because they have the power. One of the ways to prevent this is by holding the administration liable for their incompetence and compensate any the passengers for any expense incurred.

I always ask, " Who Checks The Checkers?" To make sure their not abusing their powers.
The biggest problem is NOT having documents to show you are able to pay for your trip and will definitely return on return ticket. Ie Business in Philippines, family or Employment/Job.
At times they get to heavy handed. It's the 4% there looking for.... 96% are legally allowed and never need offloading.
Stop using rules against your own citizens. Most don't understand the situation or requirements.

Makes you wonder if airline companies are part of this. Rebooking will increase their sales. Regardless, filipinos should have right to travel peacefully and easily as long as they have valid passport, plane ticket and no hold departure order. Let the host or receiving country do the rest. Asking for full iterinary and advance hotel bookings ruins the fun especially if you’re backpacking to many countries where you just wing it as you go. Ive been in some countries and they don’t have exit control for their citizens.

This is degrading action by the Bureau of Immigration who appear to have no respect for their own citizens or their rights. The politicians don't really give a damn how bad their government agencies treats its own citizens, or they would actually care to do something about it -- which they often don't.

Where's the freedom of an individual to freely travel? last time I checked Philippines is not a communist country!!! If Out of 30K of Filipinos being offloaded only 1k were victims of trafficking, what that says with the immigration branch? I hope and pray that the President will do something about this problem...It's unacceptable! Now, if immigrations wants to offload filipino travelers they should refund all their expenses since it's the immigration choice...The immigration must be accountable for ALL THE EXPENSES of filipinos travelers being offloaded!!! Yup, I'm an American and have been retired and living in the Philippines since 2016. It's easy if you have a good pension and social security. I live very nicely on over $2000 US dollars a month. I travel domestically from the province to Manila about twice a year. I eat well and most importantly, have good friends here in the Philippines that take good care of me. It's a beautiful country with beautiful people and culture. But it's sad that immigration treat their own people the way they do. They need to have uniformed standards and proper education!!!!!

Hi Jennifer, you have been very informative wirh your channel. Question? Why does our Immigration do this interview during departure from the Philippines. These type of questioning should be done by the Immigration Team on ARRIVAL to the country of destination. For me it is their responsibility to screen travellers entering their country. Seems like our BOI are complicating their protocols just for the sake of doing it. I live in the UK...After checking in, I go straight to Security then after that I will be at the waiting lounge to wait for the gates to be opened. Just my observation..keep up the good work

NAIA Terminal 3 flying on Qatar Airways. March 12, 2023. Check was done online 48 hours prior so we were only there a Baggage drop. It only took 10 minutes from the opening of the Qatar counter to be on our way to Immigrations. 3 hours later my Filipina GF was still waiting for her exit interview. Immigrations only had 4 people doing interviews and each interview she witnessed took over an hour. The plane was already boarding, so I ask help from a Qatar Gate agent to push Immigrations into hurrying up. Boarding was at Gate 14 only 50 meters from Immigrations. Then Immigrations needed to interview me ( the Foreigner) asking me to show the same documents my GF had and then make me sign an affidavit. In the end we got to the gate just as final call was announced. In my mind Immigrations Interview delay was deliberate. I heard from my friend that at Cebu Mactan Airport it only was taking 15 minutes to clear Immigrations the day prior ( March 11, 2023 ) In the Future I will avoid NAIA. If it isn't the baggage theft sybdicate at NAIA, it the intentional delays at Immigrations. NAIA is full of incompetence.

BI/DFA need to develop a pre-clearance process anytime before a scheduled flight. Regional BI offices should have the authority to pre-screen travelers before they get to the airport and prevent unnecessary offloading. I believe that may help streamline the travel process and alleviate all the frustrations.

In April my fiancé and her 11 year old daughter are flying to Hong Kong from Cebu (unfortunately 6am flight) for 3 days at Hong Kong Disneyland. They both have valid passport...proof of vaccine...return tickets...proof of hotel reservation fully prepaid....she will have both Hong Kong dollars and Philippine Peso as cash on her....proof of 100k balance in BPI account with ATM card to draw in Hong Kong....I prepaid for them travel insurance covering all medical. She has no credit card . I have pretty much prepaid for everything except meals, Im pretty sure they both need rapid covid test in cebu 24 hours prior..she will also have a printed itinerary of her 4 days in Hong Kong. Am I missing anything? Should I be worried with a 6am flight....I told her to be at airport 2am.
This is a simple Disneyland trip as a reward for her daughters excellence in school.....I hope it doesn't turn into a disaster.

, then you will need to provide an Affidavit of Support (AOS) for her & the child. The AOS must be authenticated in the PH embassy of your country of residence. She must also prove strong ties to return to PH.

I asked the staff only to be replied, " di ko po alam, fill upan nyo na lang". They dont know what they are doing!!!!

I experienced that offloading way back in 2019. They asked so.many questions, personal ones too. I'm going to meet my bf halfway to Indonesia because he is from OZ. After asking so many questions, showed them my itinerary, hotel bookings and round-trip flight, they stamped my ticket offload and told me that I can't cross over. They told me that, only my first degree family could invite me to travel as a tourist outside the country. At that time, there were a lot of people offloaded too. I wonder why it is hard dito satin na maka cross over sa immigration kapag magtravel ka, unlike other countries. 😞

Always strange things, my wifes sister is taking care of her grandson while her daughter is working in Manila. She wants to come to Manila and bring he grandson to see his mother. But when trying to book an airplane ticket we get the message: "Children below 15 years old and traveling alone, or with a person other than their parents, are required to secure a permit to travel from the City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) "
This is usually for travel outside of the Philippines but in Davao it seems they ask for domestic travel too. Again a lack of standards. Not everyone is comfortable taking planes and going through the bureaucracy. Since she is from Cotabato and would take a bus to Davao for the plane, it is quite complicated to get that travel permit. She now might cancel her trip or worse go to the airport without the travel permit and maybe be offloaded....
