Working in a BPO industry is really as tough and challenging as I once thought it was not. It could drain you to the core, physically, mentally and emotionally. You need to always have a bunch of extra energy and patience, and also motivation to drive you on. Kudos to all call center people for winning over yourself and over the challenges you face everyday!!Double-salute for you guys!!!!!
This kind of makes me feel bad for all the times I've been impatient with call center employees. It seems like people who handle customer service calls for American companies are usually either from India or the Philippines, and people from the Philippines are always _so_ incredibly nice and patient that if I ever snap at them I immediately regret it and apologize. Even though they're never rude I can tell sometimes they're stressed out and sad. If you ever feel drained, try to remember that most angry customers are angry at the company, not you.
Working in the BPO industry for 15 years is not that easy but I'm still grateful for the opportunity because I was able to provide the needs of my family.
😂 Sanayan lang yan, o kaya mag aral ka sa TESDA ng English Profiency, so you could learn and practice speaking english.
@@regieumaly7210 Merong local account na tinatawag which is tagalog or taglish ginagamit na language.
I'm a veteran agent. Used to be a legend in this environment. It's one of the things that can really cause PTSD due to the unbelievable stress, pressure, anxiety, and panic that you may have to experience while trying stay calm, collected and be kind no matter what happens. To be the professional. To be the bigger person. To be the hero to hold their hand even as they bite that hand. I used to say, "There are only two kinds of people. There are agents and there's everyone else." This line is truer today than it ever was before. Thank you for paying homage to all those years of bloodshed, sacrifice and tears.
Wala.
I dont know why. But every time i think of working back to BPO and taking calls makes me feel sad. I mean, I even feel like crying. My BPO days were very much alive. I enjoyed having friends. I enjoyed the liberty of time outside the house. Gained a lot of knowledge. and even met my Wife. She was an HR of our company. I dont know, but when i look back, i have this "Trauma" kind of feeling that is telling me "No! you dont want that kind of life." then it hits me. To all the people that worked and still working in BPO.. Your life, our life, is/was not easy af.. salute you guys! hang in there.. Worked in BPO form 2008-2014. The highest i reached was TL. Damn!
If you can survive and thrive in a call center environment for at least 3 years, it will teach you the following skills that you may not have gotten from other jobs: (1) Active listening, empathy, and acknowledgement; (2) Good diction, pronunciation, and enunciation of spoken English leading to fluency and spontaneity; (3) analytical and problem-solving skills together with note-taking and multitasking, including working with complex business processes and computer software. From there on, you can specialize in delivering good customer service or salesmanship even if you move on to other jobs in the corporate world. Good job to Jessica and thanks for highlighting this very important service industry which is providing gainful employment and income to many Filipinos inside the country so that they won't need to work overseas and away from their families.
From CSR/TSR to IT Service Desk and now an Application Support Analyst for a clinical research organization. I will be never be in this role without the things that I learned working in the BPO industry for 10 years. Salute to all the CC agents working hard to support their families and achieving their goals in life. #BayaningPuyat
I salute to vxi for allowing you to experience and making a videos about how call center agent do their job, its a big help for us who wants to be part of bpo company who have no idea on how they response for the complain or inquiries.
It ung raw vlog na nakita ko na accurate for all the fresh graduates to understand what's like being in BPO pre interview or initial interview.. good job maam!
*i used to work from 2006 to 2017 in a bpo company as an administrative officer, and though i was not part of the operations and did not take calls, i still had this idea how it’s like to work in a bpo company. masasabi ko, hindi madali. sa training pa lang, pwede ka na agad maligwak ‘pag di mo na-meet ang required scores. tapos, ‘pag nasa floor ka na, may kpi **_(key performance indicator)_** na hinahabol ang mga agents, may aht **_(average handling time)_** na need ma-maintain, dahil ‘pag di mo na-reach, care bay ka. at ‘pag tatlong beses ka nang nalalagay sa care bay, babush, hanap ka na uli ng ibang trabaho. pati cr break, naka-timed, bawal lumagpas. hindi pwede basta-basta mag-leave, months before dapat magsabi ka na kasi bawal na madami kayong magkakasabay-sabay; may pasok kayo tuwing holidays at kahit binabaha or dini-delubyo na ang pilipinas. kaya yung mga nagsasabing trabaho ng mga tamad at bobo ang call center, think twice. ignorante kayo kung ganito thinking niyo...*
@@mysticapajar614 Fortunately yes. I myself have worked with a very stress-free client IN the BPO industry itself. Great environment, great colleagues, and superiors that are easy to talk to. Just because someone is complaining doesn't mean that they're not grateful on any average day. People experience different hardships and telling them to just shut up and be grateful may not always be helpful. People have their own experiences and their own internal battles. You can be strong everyday but it doesn't mean you're not allowed to break down sometimes. Humans get tired too. And a little complaint here and there is sometimes helpful in terms of venting.
Nakaka professional pag nasa highest building ang office nyo 😅
Considering the strict guidelines and privacy rules of each clientele in a BPO asset, it’s great to know they have allowed you to experience and film this. At least now people who always misconstrue that BPO employees are like “cheap” people who have no skills can see what it really is there. Hindi madali ang bunay call center. Good job, Jess! 🎉
This is the most helpful and realistic call center agent employee video I watched so far. Thank you so much for the effort, Jessica! Helped us a bunch!
I miss going to the call center. I also used to be a vxi, that's how it is there, when I applied there only via phone, from initial interview to final interview. One day processing in vxi. I stopped doing call centers since I became a vlogger.
BPO is one of the stressful jobs here in the PH. I worked for 6 mos. In telco, and my mental health were messed up bcs of that. Optimistic and fun during training. Emotional and drained in production. Depends on the LOB tho, I learned so many things and it tested my courage. Now I am starting again with a different account 🙏
I always talked to a Filipino Customer Service when i have problems with phone, cable etc bills. I live in Boston. Majority of them are very nice and educated.
@@liendles2753 actually I was NEVER an 8/10 like Jessica when was starting my BPO career. What I want to emphasize is that for a starter like her, getting an 8/10 is already good!
hey may i ask do you think people who arent good in english such as mine can survive working as a call center agent? i applied to a BPO company tho i passed the mock call im not satisfied with my performance and i feel like i want to back out... wanna know ur thoughts 👀
@@Paper_MoonCake Yes, you can survive and LIVE at the same time. Practice makes permanence! Enjoy your training, feel free to make mistakes during your training because it’s your ground before going live and taking calls. Don’t back out! I would also highly suggest polishing your subject and verb agreement. You may take online exercises/assessments online. Google is a friend.
@@Paper_MoonCake definitely. I once had a teammate who was really bad in English. But after the communications training, which most companies provide at the start (the quality of the training may vary depending on the company and the trainer), I was actually impressed that he managed to fix all his grammatical and pronunciation issues. You just have to be very open to critic and coaching. I suggest reading a lot of books. Take note of the grammar, word usage, punctuation, etc

you kidding me, it's the easiest to make money of. Has very low educational requirement, low job experience requirement, the application interviews are not that hard, easiest to get into; way easier than applying for waiter or at jollibee, has many benefits in terms of medical and life insurance. The salary is good, some companies would even give way better salary if you are not satisfied with their initial offer gives tons of bonuses, had referral system, had free facilities inside the company building, free coffee, free sleeping quarters, free medicine incase you get sick in the middle of your shift. I believe that if you just work hard in that industry you will really grow there, you can work your way up there. I have been on the same bpo company for 3 years and my salary had risen from a measly 15-17k/month to a whopping 35k/month all in just 3 something years. Now you might think that my salary is just small but compared to other jobs like teaching, nursing, hotel staff my job is way way easier.
@@cardinalwilson8034 Not the salary I mentioned in my comment but the job itself. For me it is not an easy job. It's not easy to handle rude customers and takes 80-100 calls and all curs, swears and foul words that the customers throw than on you. If you were talking about the salary and applications I couldn't agree more but it was based on my experience in the BPO industry.
@@laniphil33Phil it's all about mental fortitude it's always hard at first, most jobs are. Tell me if other jobs don't have rude costumers, they exist in every career. In the end it all matters how you handle those people.

I first heard about VXI having a higher compensation package when already working as call center agent in Teleperformance. I think Jessica's vlog here is also a way for this company get advertised to would be applicants. Especially those on the lookout to apply. Lucky for them to have Jessica whose got a million plus subscribers.
Watching Jessica's mock calls reminds me of my initial immersion into the call center job years back. Being nervous is every applicant's natural harrowing experience. Wait till she gets embroiled with the really difficult customers with all their angry expletives and weave her way out of the verbal storm without a Sup Call. Haha. Good job Jessica. This is what makes you earn more followers.
Aww thank you you'd get to show how we do and what we have to go through before we land a spot, especially in the BPO industry. People tend to look down on us as if we were just sitting around at the office and talking all night. I appreciate you, thanks Jessica :) 🖤💗
Thanks for BPO I got a decent job even though I didnt finish my school because Im not a school type person. I dropped out when I was in 1st year college. Now I work from home direct hired from US company earning up to 100k a month. Nakaka DOTA na ako everyday hha
Hi Jessica! I want to suggest a work that Filipinos is also known for, being a Nurse, if it's possible. If not you can just be an assisstant in the hospital and serve the patients. We would love also for you to experience being in the medical field.♥️♥️♥️
What really makes call center a very difficult job is 1. You have to be kind and patient with your callers, - regardless if you are having a bad day - if your not feeling well - sometimes you are treated like shit but you have to held it in because you have a job to do. You can't be rude you can't be sarcastic you can't curse them you can't show them any hostility or it will be marked by QA as a rude call which could potentially lead to termination. 2. Strict compliance if you don't have the discpline you really won't last long in the BPO because some company follows a very strict compliance and commitment one of it you can't brint any smart devices inside, your not allowed to bring paper and pen, notes your not allowed to leave your computer open, you have to adhere to the lunches and break time schedule any instances that you don't without permission from the TL or workforce or any instances where they find its unreasonable or not enough as a reason to be forgiven they will verbally warn you first some leads to memo. Any instances you are found leaking information intentionally or unintentionally could also lead to termination they treat data privacy 100% zero tolerance One of the BPO's strictly compliance is you have to be present at all times. And if you are sick you have to call it in 2-3 hours prior to your shift and you have to come back with a medical before they can approve you coming back to work again. So rain or shine you have to come to work, so you will really experience na kahit baha kayo you have to find a way na maka pasok kahit late ka. Some also follows pointing system wherein you are only allowed to have this 'X' number of absences that includes tardiness. When you reached the ceiling you will be called in for an HR talk. Possible termination or suspension it depends. Another thing is the metrics you have to meet, It depends on the account what metrics will be given, often times you will hit it often you won't but for seasoned veterans in BPO which is amazing they are really able to hit the expected metrics each month which makes you wonder how they are doing it and whats the difference with what you are doing. some fails at QA some fails on Survey and some other metric. A Csat driven account is one of the hardest account you will encounter because how they will rate you depends on how they feel, "How you made them feel" it doesnt matter if what caused the problem is process driven, The flaws in system, caused by another agent or a mistake in the item given they will rate you based on how they feel and its undisputable whats rated is Final and if you fail it either you dont get an incentive or it you could be subjected to program or any coaching until the day you meet that specific metric. Some of the account their most difficult is QA especially in accounts that are process driven, complicated accounts that requires a lot of notation, articles , links, and resources any of it that will be missed will be a marked down, if the SOP is not followed it will be a marked down. Another metric that could affect you is what they call FCR or first call resolution where in that caller must not call with the same concern. So its really not easy just how other people describes. Telco - Retention account - Tech support - Billing/ Customer General service these departments will really hit you hard especially if you are new to BPO Finance and Health accounts specifically Big companies are very complicated accounts ex. Cognizant, JP Morgans, Wells Fargo And last but not the least Uso ang palakasan sa BPO Uso din discrimination Pag di ka favorite ng TL mo ng Workforce or OM nyo lagi kang kawawa lalo na pag Jerk yung Immediate Supervisor mo kawawa ka talaga Uso din uung na pro promote kahit interms of skills and metric hindi naman sya eligible Merong kabitan, chismisan at chukchakan. So the environment is really not for the weak willed. Kaya hindi BASTA BASTA maging call center gaya nga ng sabi ni Jessica naka upo sya pero she felt like she is not sitting on her chair. And know this lalo na sa mga high call volume accounts. You will learn to appreciate your 15 mins break lalo na yung lunch. Kahit isa or dalawang minutong avail time feels like a gift in christmas.
If everybody watched a video like this atleast once in their life it would give a complete different view on call centers. Knowing that sometimes the person you are talking to is not even on the same company responsible for your product/delivery changes everything. Generally speaking, being angry is not going to get your problem solved faster.
Thank you Jessica for trying the Call Center job! I used to take in calls before and I remember those days nung nasa telco account pa ko haha never again. Now I'm an email support and I can say na less stressful dito. Anyway, mabuhay ang mga bayaning puyat!
Being in BPO industry makes you a jack of all trades. You'll get to become an expert in everything that is within your scope. Sometimes, you'd be a banking and financial expert, medical/pharmaceutical, technical support (programming, troubleshooting, coding, etc, sales expert, a little bit of psychologist, and most often a friend a customer can talk to. All of these expertise that takes years of studies may be compressed in only 2-3 months so you'd become an expert in a particular program or product that you handle as a call center agent. Not to mention the KPI's or Key Performance Indicators or metrices that you're expected to pass as part of your scorecard where your incentives/appraisal depends on. Some people would say it's an easy job because all you need to do is sit and talk..Well, you'll only get to tell your tales after your first 6 months.. if ever you make it.
Aspirant here, I saw and heard that working in the BPO industry is challenging, but I still want to give it a shot. Watching this kind of video is a big help to rookies who want to enter this field, thanks to Jessica Lee.
People alwaya thought that being in a BPO industry is for no brainer until they realize and experience it. Proud to be part of the industry for 12 years. Thank you for this❤
Thank u for showing this to people who does'nt even know how people work here. I was once a call center agent and i really enjoy what i've done. This job is prefferably for young people. Big struggle for older once....like me hahaha
One of the most REAL and HONEST video out here showing perfectly how it can be. It can be drainign depending on the season and the company and also of course the language you speak. If it's a large company and it's mostly english calls, YES it will be most likely back to back calls. I would be being a call center agent is fine if you are working into the management position so you can add that to your resume but honestly if within 1 year you do not get a promotion I would say it's not worth it staying there.
I have been working in BPO industry for over 10 years and I would say this is not an easy job. dealing with different type of people is really tough specially when you're in customer service and most of your calls are about complaints. In BPO "Patience is a Virtue" because there are some customer who act like a tiger that you need to tame. kudos to VXI allowing you to film Call Center "trabaho" series. I always love your videos. even though the pandemic is over please stay safe and healthy. thank you for this amazing content.♥

Their facilities tho. Ang ganda. So sikat talaga si Jun-jun sa buong BPO industry. Haha. Kahit ang tagal mo ng nagte-take ng calls, di mo pa rin maiiwasang kabahan because you can't predict the mood of your customers. Patience is the key. Thanks for this, Jessica. My ex-girlfriend worked in a call centre. and she had a huge pride, and I was like, "so what is it?" I knew what she was a hard worker and she had a lot of pride. miss na kita talaga.
So far so good. The environment could be challenging at times but when it comes to the account (financial) that I am in, I guess it’s an easy acc compared to the others.
Thank you, we appreciate you showing a glimpse of being a call center agent. Some people think that being a call center agent is easy (just sitting/taking phone calls) it's definitely more than that :)
Thank you jes for including BPO industry and trying this job, I worked as a call center agent before for years while studying as well in college. It really help me a lot in terms of my finances, helping my family and having health care insurance.
Hi Jessica, I really love this episode! Thank you for doing this. You outdid yourself once again! 👏 Also, congratulations on this sponsored episode! 🎉 I just want to share that I’ve been working in the BPO industry for almost 10 years but this is my first year in a voice account. Back office had been my comfort zone for roughly 9 years but I have always wanted to try calls. Currently, I am already considered as tenured in our LOB (line of business) or project but I still get anxious every time I’m taking in calls specially that I am in a “thinking” account. This is a tough industry but is very rewarding. Bpo is one of the most “okay” - “high” paying jobs in PH, depending on the company and your work experience, tenureship and skills. This industry helped me develop my confidence, communication skills and opened great opportunities for me. Ps. I’m looking forward to go back to back office, which btw is not easier but is a little less stressful. Haha Mabuhay ang mga bayaning puyat! ♥️
This video was posted around the same time I was looking for a job so I could fund my future plans while working at the comfort of my home. Now that 'that' journey has ended, I'm having a hard time moving forward. However, I believe the purpose was already served and now I'm on my way to find my next purpose. Although unsure, I just wanted to enjoy life without overthinking what happens next just yet.
I was so amazed by the whole process of how to apply in the call center. Miss Jessica is giving the answer on how to answer by the interviewer and the process as well. I enjoyed watching these vlogs, starting from the assessment, initial interview, training, and mock call. Thanks for this video and info. your so jolly by the way, beautiful and smart. 😍
I like this trabaho serye episode since I worked in a BPO company before. You actually did great knowing that you have no experience in this field whatsoever and watching this episode was so much fun because it brings a lot of good memories back then. I was just wondering if you still prefer to do outbound calls if it was for a research or surveys hahaha...
Working in a bpo company for the first time is really nerve wracking but you will be more used to it as the time goes by. It's not an easy job but the salary is what keeping people to stay especially here in the Philippines where the basic salary is too low.
BPO job is really hard at first especially if you have no experience but once you get used to it, it's like breathing even with the toxic customers 🤣 There used to be some talks about how BPO jobs aren't that respectable compared to the usual corporate jobs or other jobs for that matter cuz you're just taking calls and sitting all day while they don't realize how hard it actually is and the amount of stress you get everyday is massive, you got to have the strongest of wills to be able to last long in this kind of job but like I said once you're immune to toxic customers you're gonna be fine 😂 You actually did a good job Jessica even tho it's your first time. Nice work.

When I was working as a cc agent in an old building back in 2004, we used to have eerie encounters with a family of ghosts. And in that family, of course, there's a kid. I was the one who named him "jun-jun" after my baby brother's nickname. I never heard that from my fellow agents and other agents from other companies, I just thought of giving the ghost kid a name and it became a popular name in our entire building. Now I've been wondering if I was the one who popularized it in bpo industry lolz
@@vesh3582 i worked in different cc companies years after and that name, indeed, has become really famous in bpo industry. prior to the naming of that kid in 2004, no one in our company called any ghost kid "jun-jun". it was only after giving that name it became popular in our team then it spread like wildfire in the entire building. pero di ko sinasabing ako ang nagpauso pero napapaisip ako kung ako nga ba hehe

I still remeber my first time taking an actual call from a real customer after 3 months of training.. and my performance was really dissapointing to the point that the cst asked me if i am a filipino cause of my accent. The exeperience was nerve-wracking and unforgettable that scared me up until now.. since that day, ive never applied as cc agent again. 😢
I am sorry you had to experience that but you can't allow that experience to dictate your life. Try again who knows, perhaps it could be better this time. Good luck .
Seeing you experience our humble beginnings brings back a lot of fond memories. BPO molds people and provides better opportunities for the Filipino worker.
Thank you Jessica for doing this trabaho. As someone like me working in a BPO for 15 years (in one company), this job is very tiring and yet very rewarding.. I can relate to your experience when I had my mock call it felt like my soul left my body . When I was endorsed in the production floor I felt so exhausted after I got off the phone on my first day. And look at me now, I have been in this industry for 15 years. hahahaha. Side note. I have a Junjun encounter during my first few months in this company when our office was still based at Ortigas Center.
Good thing that Jessica upload this kind of vlog, I'm really trying to apply in BPO's right now, it's stressing coz i have no idea in the field of job. But now i have this knowledge about the workplace and about the procedures, kudos to Jessica Lee. Keep it up!
I really like the part wherein you are taking mock calls, it's nerve wrecking for starter - I am seeing myself to you when I was starting with the BPO way back in 2006 and boy oh boy the scenario is just the same... shaking and nervous, can't fixate your eyes to the monitor and as if you are drowning. But I admire the courage Jessica, keep up with this segment. God bless ♥
When I call customer service that 80% of the time I will get a Filipino (a) at a call center. I never get mad at them, I know their job is stressful and besides, I've been to Philippines and love it there. The people are so friendly!
As a aspirant applicant i saw all of the procedures that i will encounter in this industry. And hope sooner or later i will become a call center agent, that's why i always keep practicing in my room all day long to improve my skills and personality, and also not in my room, but in this industry. Once again thank you ms@jessica lee for your informations and experience that we are not aware as a haven't no experience in BPO industry thank you so much. 😊
It may not be the most physically taxing job but it is definitely the most mentally stressful one 😂 good job jessica and team for another great TRABAHO episode!

This video is actually a good reference for someone who wants to apply for these kind of jobs that requires good communication skills and really try to understand the caller, see from the caller's perspective and not just give in to that toxic attitude to deliver the best possible service.
I couldn't count how many times Ive heard people say na "nakakabobo ang trabaho sa call center". Account ko right now is a financial account, Fraud department pa. Sa 40 customers ko, 30 dun galit. Di lang basta galit kundi yung tipong "foaming at the mouth" galit. Kaya panong nakakabobo yun? Another thing, "pantamad" daw na work. Excuse me.
Sobrang nakaka-stress pa kasi inaalagaan nga survey tapos pressure pa from team lead and the team once makakakuha ka ng detractor. Hindi pa biro at usually per detractor, 7 promoters ang pangbawi for most BPO.
@@slashhack1463 kaya hate ko ang customer service dept. Cause you need to kiss your cust @$$ to get promoters. Im planning to stay for good dito sa Fraud kasi allowed ako makipagmatigasan sa callers.
here my experience in call center: 10 mins to handle one call/ greeting> listening customer problem>hang the call and searching the answer form company base info> back to answer> typing note and details for coworker in case this customer call back > typing your own short note(some time you will need to call back to your customer)> Loop this again and again . (you will meet angry customer every day like it unavoidable :D) customer can rate you from 1-5, but actually you must get only 5 on your call if not you will need a meeting with your MG to explain why you can't get the best rating form your call . And you must hit the target call everyday even customer call in less than normal( you can call out to sell package or received more call after working hour or on your weekend). and the thing i hate the most is some angry customer take more than 1 hour just to handle his problem because they keep talking sh*t and don't wanna hang up the line. my happy face gone after 1 week of working in this job Lol.
As an technical help desk support that I am currently worked on ITO company, I am proud of you and you do a great job as a customer service. I like the way you handle your nervous. specially, When you start to answer the call and the customer drop the call hahaha. I remember my nesting production. I love your English accent
I can relate so much when she said that it's all PANIC MODE when you receive inbound calls HAHAHA it really is not an easy job huhu but good job Jessica! 😊
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what's like working in a BPO company. Great work Jessica! It gets me on how they show how fun it could be working for their company but really it's so far from reality. I'm excited to see the next episode.
I have had experience with call centers in the Philippines, India, and South America. Filipinos can nail the American accent, so much so that I was fooled into thinking I was talking to an American. Invariably, their true accent eventually slips out, but I give them hats off for their attempt.
The reason why many call center companies here in the Philippines is that they can give very low salary to their employees compare to other countries. So with that situation they can save lots money.
@yakap ng pinas he basically said the reason. Abusing the fact that Philippines is one of a low salary paying company compared to other company in other countries. Filipino's really just have no chance but to take it.
Sad truth is, most BPO clients have allotted 30% monthly salary to every agents. However, here in the Philippines, they have the option to lower it down to approximately 10% which is a lot of savings for them. As to the reason why? One of the main reasons is that Philippines is one of the countries who are manpower oriented or with most people who have employee mindsets over being business minded. I used to be in a BPO setup, learned a lot since day one up to being cross-trained and I'm grateful for that. BPO is a very good training environment to learn how corporate industries really work. But I don't recommend this job as one of the main source of income for long span of time or even a lifetime source of income to raise a family. Honestly, it's more rewarding to work remotely at home and offer services with your acquired skillsets and become an individual contractor working directly to a foreign client or foreign company while you are at home with your family. You'll get the whole 30% monthly salary, more savings since you are not required to going on expensive team building schemes that are mostly not shouldered by the company or buy expensive working clothings or allot for your daily transortation allowance and deal with the heavy traffic, no toxic drama/politics at work just to be promoted, have the convenience to get any leaves directly from the client without waiting if it's approved or not because client usually approves it, you'll have a full control with your health insurance when you asked for it from your client and most of all, you can easily balance your work and family time. That's what I can say the "true work-life balance" which I had a hard time getting in a BPO setup.
Its win win tbh. OFW and BPO plays a huge part in our economy... but yes I get the point. Minimum wage in Arizona is $13 per hour. CC agents are paid less than half of that.
Congrats Jessica, you did it well. I know exactly how you feel because I've been there before in that kind of job. It's really nerve wrecking yeah, really stressful, pressure but sti you have to be patient, be polite and kind to the client or the customer. It's not very easy even from the application stage its really tough, stressful and a lot of pressure. I've been in Outbound (sales) in the outbound you have to make calls and market the product. And in inbound you are going to receive calls and help the customers with their problems or concerns in different certain circumstances. I see how you struggled but you've made it. And I Love how you speak and talk it was very clear and understandable, mabagal pa nga yan eh compare sa ibang employees or agents hehehe Congratulations again Jessica🎉❤😊
Give yourself a pat in the back for taking the challenge, it's a career that will test your patience and resourcefulness. Worked with VXI from 2009 to 2014, started as a sales agent then promoted internally as an ID Administrator. Since then I have been slowly discovering my career path. I'm currently on mental rest from my career and will continue next year. Please take a rest if you feel stressed to recover your focus. 🙌🙂🐱
As someone who has worked in the BPO industry for about 5 and a half years with only 2 companies, it really is challenging but rewarding. Never really saw myself headed to that career path, but I guess at the end of the day, it’s really about the people you meet and your focus and determination that will keep you motivated no matter what job you are in. Salute to us tired soldiers and for those who put bread on the table
🤣🤣🤣 I used to have a travel account. Flights, Hotels, etc. But there were people calling me on how to print their itinerary and fix their printer or asking what's the nearest interstate exit from where they're currently driving. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kudos to you jessica 👏 sa video vlog mo na eto nakita namin kung ano yun proseso na pinangdadaanan ng isang aplikante sa pag apply pa lang gang sa interview.very informative at nakaya mo talaga. Looking forward on your next trabaho series.❤
You are doing a good job, Jessica. I am still at 13:31 of this video and I can totally relate to your rapport LOL back then I would list all of the rapport so that I won't be saying them over and over again hahaha... some clients/customers would notice and think that you are not sincere or willing to help them but you are just doing your job LOL. Overall, you pass the mock call and get a high score (>_
These call center employees speak very well. I had the chance to speak with them quite a few times. Even though I am aware they are Filipinos, I still ask - and I am impressed on how they converse with customers.
@@mohtv4418Because you have to deal with all kinds of idiots and rude people that are calling and still be polite, in many countries (don't know exactly about the Phillipines) it's a low pay job and the work pressure is really high. Also, if you end up in a call center thats not as serious as this one, they may ask you to do things that are borderline scam / illegal.
@@Flo-vn9ty thats not the worst case. i been in customer service and call centre staff for decades, the worst was, your manager thinks that you SHOULDN'T complain about rude or idiot clients because its part of your job. Fck that
@Flo-vn9ty dealing with rude customers are the easy part, dealing with toxic TL's and OM's is one of the biggest reasons why people quit.
I like this, this is one of the BEST vlog i ever seen. Thank you Jessica for sharing the real culture of BPO hiring process. It's a big help for job seekers looking for improvement and better communication skills. 💖💕 Kudos love heart heart!!!
just watching jessica doing the mock call made me feel anxious 😢 as much i want i don't want to go back to being cc but to be honest for a high school graduation like me this the job that you can have a better salary...sorru about this , but thank you Jessica lee for doing this video
Proud VXI Employee here. Passion for People is really true. VXI is my first job and I got hired the first time I tried to apply. Now Im in my 8th month with vxi.
My first job was a call center agent for a telco company. It brought a lot of memories. I only stayed 3 months in a call center but I learned a lot. Thanks for showing this side of BPO - call center coz some people view call center agents as "call center lang".
Working in BPO industry has pros and cons. It's not for everyone but look at me , 17 years in this industry (4 companies) made me who I am today. I learned how to multitask, balance my score card every month, to be focused, collaborate with my team members. I also learned to build a strong mental fortitude because it can be a very stressful job to be honest. I got used to callers who's shouting and sometimes cursing because of frustration specially when I was in a financial account like banks and card providers. On the good side, it will help you grow or build a career on a higher level with of course bigger paychecks, you'll be able to mingle with people from different ages, backgrounds, I even had foreign teammates. The medical benefits is also good coz you can add your family as dependent which means they can also have medical benefits same as yours. Team building activities and the likes are so much fun. It's a culture of tired and sleepless people and most of them are breadwinners in the family that's why they stay no matter how challenging and stressful the job is. Monthly/quarterly incentives also motivates the agents to do well. Honestly, there are companies who really pays well like an agent's salary alone is equivalent to a manager's salary in a regular store or office work set up. I quit last year to pursue a Virtual Assistant job which is an in demand job right now. I am thankful for my BPO work experience. It was stressful but fun. 🙂
Thank u so much jessica, this is really helpful and u also gave me an ideas on how to answer formally during job interview since i got no job now becoz of my review preparation for the board exam. I do hope that i can learn more from your videos .thank u very much ❤
This is great, first time seeing any of your videos...... As to being a call center employee, as an American I can always tell when the person on the other side of the call is a English second language person, the pronouncement of some vowels are telling, very much like Hispanic.... I don't mean that in a bad way only to say that patience is needed on both sides of the call, lots of times we ask for the other person to repeat themselves is because we actually don't understand what was said and not to be rude.......... Of course that works both ways....
Happy to see one of my fave korean youtuber tried call center job on her trabaho series. Great job with the mock call! 👏🏻 It was just the tip of the iceberg tho. Wait until you got yelled out, cursed at, belittle, boss around and received racist remarks with verbally abusive customers and have to be kind and have to think of passing metrics that might cause your job. It is exhausting job even if you are just sitting and talking.
If you ever feel drained, try to remember that most angry customers are angry at the company, not you.
gotcha, well said. remain great.
Agree, its very stressful. Im working in a bpo company rn. Currently planning to resign due to mental health issue.
Not really,

Working in the BPO industry for 15 years is not that easy but I'm still grateful for the opportunity because I was able to provide the needs of my family.

I dont know, but when i look back, i have this "Trauma" kind of feeling that is telling me "No! you dont want that kind of life."

BPO is one of the hardest jobs I have ever experienced. I salute all the call center agents out there for being patience and do a fantastic job 👍
you kidding me, it's the easiest to make money of.

What really makes call center a very difficult job is
1. You have to be kind and patient with your callers,
- regardless if you are having a bad day
- if your not feeling well
- sometimes you are treated like shit but you have to held it in because you have a job to do.
You can't be rude
you can't be sarcastic
you can't curse them
you can't show them any hostility
or it will be marked by QA as a rude call which could potentially lead to termination.
2. Strict compliance
if you don't have the discpline you really won't last long in the BPO
because some company follows
a very strict compliance and commitment
one of it you can't brint any smart devices inside, your not allowed to bring paper and pen, notes your not allowed to leave your computer open, you have to adhere to the lunches and break time schedule any instances that you don't without permission from the TL or workforce or any instances where they find its unreasonable or not enough as a reason to be forgiven they will verbally warn you first some leads to memo.
Any instances you are found leaking
information intentionally or unintentionally could also lead to termination they treat data privacy 100% zero tolerance
One of the BPO's strictly compliance is you have to be present at all times.
Another thing is the metrics you have to meet,
It depends on the account what metrics will be given, often times you will hit it often you won't but for seasoned veterans in BPO which is amazing they are really able to hit the expected metrics each month which makes you wonder how they are doing it and whats the difference with what you are doing.
some fails at QA
some fails on Survey
and some other metric.
Telco
- Retention account
- Tech support
- Billing/ Customer General service
these departments will really hit you hard especially if you are new to BPO
Finance and Health accounts specifically Big companies are very complicated accounts ex. Cognizant, JP Morgans, Wells Fargo
And last but not the least
Merong kabitan, chismisan at chukchakan.

That's what i want to experience it's like hitting two birds in one stone, earning while you learning something new.
VXI is my first BPO company and I'm very thankful to them for giving me a chance and experience how it felt to become a call center agent.
Aspirant here, I saw and heard that working in the BPO industry is challenging, but I still want to give it a shot. Watching this kind of video is a big help to rookies who want to enter this field, thanks to Jessica Lee.
Thank you for appreciating what we do
People alwaya thought that being in a BPO industry is for no brainer until they realize and experience it. Proud to be part of the industry for 12 years. Thank you for this❤
You're soo smart easy to learn jessica.
Why are you proud that you are suffering in a BPO?

Salute to Jessica for experiencing one of the best and toughest job available around. Kampay mga bayaning puyat!

How's your job now working in VXI?
So far so good. The environment could be challenging at times but when it comes to the account (financial) that I am in, I guess it’s an easy acc compared to the others.

I just want to share that I’ve been working in the BPO industry for almost 10 years but this is my first year in a voice account.
Former VXI Davao employee here 🙋♀️ super ganda ng management ng VXI
Nice work.
You have a neutral English Filipino accent ate Jessica which is perfect for a Call Center agent... If you're really an applicant and an employee of a BPO company you can Ace it for sure!😉 This is my favorite Trabaho serye..😇
Now I've been wondering if I was the one who popularized it in bpo industry lolz
wait, that junjun name I've heard it so many times on Hilakbot Horror Story about BPO.

Tip: dont accept any accounts like Verizon, At&t, Tmobile or any other TELCO accounts. Very toxic.
Good luck .
I was at the call centre before and I know how difficult it was in customer service both inbound and outbound!
So totoo ba si jun-jun? Who else experience the presence of jun-jun?
God bless ♥
Ganyan talaga pag first time.. masasanay pa rin tayo diyan unless kung malakas tayo sa typing imbes thru call..
You can do it. Ganyan din ako dati. 😊
It may not be the most physically taxing job but it is definitely the most mentally stressful one 😂 good job jessica and team for another great TRABAHO episode!

This was so cool Jessica!!! Thanks for featuring a call center job in your series 😊 I literally work in VXI right now hahaha. Hopefully we could meet again with sila Keona. Missed seeing you! ❤
This video is actually a good reference for someone who wants to apply for these kind of jobs that requires good communication skills and really try to understand the caller, see from the caller's perspective and not just give in to that toxic attitude to deliver the best possible service.
Wow I am currently working in VXI 😊❤ Good Job Ms. Jessica. OMG naalala ko na naman si Junjun 😅
I worked for customer service representative for a year and I swore I will never return.

Thts the only reason?, isnt it filipinos has a lot to offer, ?
Exploitation 21st century edition

I salute all the call center agents. You need to be extremely patient! Customers tend to be meaner on the phone than in person.
You are doing a good job, Jessica. I am still at 13:31 of this video and I can totally relate to your rapport LOL
back then I would list all of the rapport so that I won't be saying them over and over again hahaha... some clients/customers would notice and think that you are not sincere or willing to help them but you are just doing your job LOL.
Overall, you pass the mock call and get a high score (>_
These call center employees speak very well. I had the chance to speak with them quite a few times. Even though I am aware they are Filipinos, I still ask - and I am impressed on how they converse with customers.
if you have respect for yourself DO NOT WORK AS A CALL CENTER AGENT.
Why?

Thanks for showing this side of BPO - call center coz some people view call center agents as "call center lang".
ano po ginagawa pag Telco account? bat mas toxic daw?
why is Jun-jun the name of every ghost in all of the call centers?! 😆 😆 😆 he's a call center hopper! 🤣 🤣 🤣
