I just got my first fishing kayak added nav lights and a trolling motor! Saving up to get a garmin striker 5 and some kind of live scope to start getting into some tournaments
Congrats.. It's obvious you've been fishing for awhile. Excellent job on "thumbing" the bait caster instead of using the drag... What action Veritas, winch? Evergreen Gizmo
Congrats on the win!! Great video. The phone call to your brother was nuts. If I tried that I would have definitely tossed phone into water instead of kayak😂😂. I can't belive you didn't have your phone tethered
Man you done did it 🔥🪲Sold out world wide in a week lol..Last year that bite was insane on the river here.Picking them up of the ground and catching fish at will …Congratulations you deserve that one for all the intel you did before hand
So Hobie BOS allows you to fish outside of the kayak and basically bank fish. Interesting. Never knew and don't think I've heard of any other trails allowing that.
He stated they made an exemption for this event do to the water level. The Susquehanna River is fairly shallow and difficult to navigate because of that.
@@jaredpenton7416 yeah I missed it when I first watched it so my bad. I can understand because I recently fished part of the Shenandoah River In VA and there were many areas where we had to walk the kayaks a ways to get to the next section.
I would have been freaking loosing my mind if I got a spot like that. No way I could have been as calm as you lol congrats man! 10k and some nice freaking smallies!
I fish rivers almost solely for open water season (Delaware River PA) and nearly all of my spinning lures are produced on a fly tying vise for a reason lol. Even my lake trout gear for NY is the same weight as you were throwing the bug.
@@nolanminor6761 Lol yeah we had an OUTSTANDING smallie/trout/salmon trip in April all casting plastic shallow. Been awhile since I been on a great trip
In case you didn’t know, someone won $10k in a bass tournament (2022 Hobie BOS on Susquehanna River) on this lure. Maybe the color, season or location is not right, but it does work. Appreciate you honesty though.
Absolute smash fest! Would have been difficult for me to not just want to keep getting after fish that n a bite like that, good for you to keep a level head!
Gonna be honest it's my dads old net and I have no idea, but I will try and get back with you on that. The ideal net would be that style but with a bigger hoop and better mesh for treble hooks.
75. Honestly would have rather used a choppo 75 or 90, but I couldn't get my hands on any because for one the supply chain is messed up but also we had 190+ anglers on a fishery where they were CHEWING that bait so no tackle shops had them. A clear colored bait seemed to be extremely important to get them to commit.
That plopper spun my line up so bad but I didn't have a choice. I had to keep cutting my bait off and letting my line out to untwist in the current. Choppo seems to roll a lot less.
@@nolanminor6761 See I was wondering about that. Your brother said he was using a 110. I have messed with both the plopper and the choppo and it seems the choppo does better for me. I got all my smallmouth bites on Dale Hallow near me on a black choppo.
All you do is add a Spro ball bearing swivel to the nose of the Choppo or the Ploppers. Lose the flimsy split ring and go with a speed clip and str8 braid. NO MORE TWISTING. NOW GET AFTER IT!!!!!
The phone call to the director was wild 🤣 “I see a giant one I’m about to cast at” 💀
that is some kick-ass smallie fishing right there.
Those are the days dreams are made of...the money is just icing on a really sweet cake. Awesome stuff man.

Smallmouth on topwater gets me excited every time! Can't wait to see day two
Day two is equally as nutty

Congratulations on your win! Looking forward to seeing more of your awesome videos!
Good to see some Virginia guys dominate! Best of luck to you guys, in the future!
Congrats.. It's obvious you've been fishing for awhile. Excellent job on "thumbing" the bait caster instead of using the drag... What action Veritas, winch? Evergreen Gizmo
Everything I used is shown/explained in the last 6-7 minutes of the day two video! Thanks for watching, I've been fishing for a little while yes haha

Heck of a job Nolan! Congrats!
Yeah that was down right nasty! I didn't hang around for day 2 due to my flip but wanted to say congrats Nolan. You and Ewing absolutely killed it.
Great fishing, good filming and editing Nolan! Congrats on the win!

It's very rare to predict it from that far out but I sure do try my best every time!
Was stoked for this one! Congrats man!
That morning topwater bite was 🔥🔥🔥 heck of a job man. ✊🏼
Thats one of the best smallmouth videos I've seen in awile.......can't believe how many theor are in that area
it was a pile of them!
Great stuff man. Way to think things through and find the fish.
Awesome job dude! My experience was completely different conditions but its great to see, thanks for sharing! 🤘😎
Cool video. Lots of good tips throughout.
Great video and hell of a job smashing them.
That same spot was were the Pa Bass Nation tourney was won 3 weeks ago!

Now the lake trout bit has my attention

Hell of a first cast
Great job congrats. Good luck in your college season. We could see you in the Elites some day
you're wild handling the choppo/ plopper like that lol. That looks like a blast.
Had to go no pliers for my boy Seamoney
What a clinic man!!! That was unreal. watching all those wakes everywhere is crazy
It really was blowing my mind but I'm sure you can tell
Congrats!! Great video and thanks for sharing

Gotta love a good top water bite !!
Congrats seemed like a phenom day rippin lips. Whats the setup you were for choppo?
Gear description at the end of the day 2 video!

Great tourney in my home waters!!! Curious top water bait?? Plopper 60 or 75? Color...PS??
Great job
A few fish were caught in this video
Great job !
"At a disadvantage" 🤣🤣🤣 29:55
Congratulations great tournament great video! What is the brand fishing net your using? Looks to be very efficient!
Gonna be honest it's my dads old net and I have no idea, but I will try and get back with you on that. The ideal net would be that style but with a bigger hoop and better mesh for treble hooks.
Promar landing net. I use the larger 18.5" x 20.5" hoop with a 30" handle while Nolan is using my old 13.5" x 18.5" hoop net with the 18" handle.
Dude thats a epic day you cant get any better.. well i guess you can if you won on day 2 lol new sub here
Congratulations bro
Congrats man!
Nice, Day to dream about
What part of the Susquehanna you fishing?
That was epic..new subscriber..
Where at in the Susquehanna?
What stretch of Susky is this?
what lenses were you using to sight fish?
You will be amazed at this answer
Yum sunglasses with amber lenses. You can find them at walmart for 4.99. I keep a bunch of them ready to go
So sick dude
Wow. Looks like such a sick fishery. Congrats and good work.
Really really impressive river. The number of 17 to 19" smallmouth in that place is just ridiculous.
nice vid man
🐐
What size wopper plopper was that?

Normally you can’t leave your boat in a tournament. But for 10 grand I like to get in this tournament
You didn’t even catch the bass out of the kayak….
do you not need to be in the kayak for a legal catch?
😜👊
