Ghosting is a less polite version of being friend-zoned to oblivion, but they both end up the same. Just recently, a woman was starting to pull this crap with me, when I quickly realized I was the only one initiating communication and her texts were few and far between. So I pulled back and stopped. After a week and a half of not seeing or hearing from each other, she had the nerve to look at me funny when I wasn't facing her or giving her the puppy treatment of a Beta, like she was used to before.
I'm 50 now, and I've been through this countless times. Chasing has never worked, NEVER! You have to remind yourself that you have too much value and self respect to chase after someone who holds you at far less worth than you hold them...

Just got ghosted this week when I was supposed to meet her for the first time this weekend. Its disappointing. I really enjoyed our conversations. Am I surprised? Getting ghosted is like building up calluses on your fingers when you're learning guitar. It sucks, it hurts, but the only option is to forge ahead and keep progressing. Each time you get calluses, they hurt less and less, and when they heal, you're stronger than you were before. I no longer get calluses on my fingers from playing guitar.

Wife of 21 years had an affair and I recently found out. During those 21 years, I was basically subjected to narcissistic abuse, where I was degraded, insulted, isolated, etc. I tried to forgive her over the years, thinking that she will come around. Nope. Instead she had an affair. I tried to forgive that also, but it drove me nuts that she betrayed me this way. Recently I met someone online, but she ghosted me (my fault - I was a little too pushy), came back, and ghosted me again, but this time I have no bloody idea why as I didn’t say or do anything. It’s almost as if she is shit testing me in some way. Or, she’s another narc that is looking for a victim.
Everything seemed great for a few weeks while we talked. And only got better. Started to get attached to each other. We were up til like 3 am gaming the day before Valentine's day. Still, everything was going great. She seemed so happy. And now she acts like I don't exist. No idea why. Im not gonna spam her with messages. Or cuss her out or anything. All I said was "if you're no longer interested thats fine. Just lmk so I can properly move on please? No hard feelings whatsoever " word for word and, still nothing. I saw her posting on her snapchat to her 2k+ followers saying "hit me up😑" and that made my heart sink. I can take rejection and breakups. But I hate liars. You say you aren't talking to other guys like that. Yet shes more content to continue posting snapchat stories to all those 2k+ random horny dudes who just wana fuck..and tbh I didnt say any of that. And the snapchat thing never bothered me. I trust you so theres nothing to worry about. But after ghosting me the day before Valentine's day and being shady and doing your snapchat stories for attention, I started to not trust her. Its just cruel how you can lead someone on, convince them you care for them dearly, and just hang them out to dry like that. Thats the only reason the snapchat thing got to me. You can be so cold hearted that you can just live life normally and cut me off while my mind goes berserk, but you cant be cold hearted enough to just message me on snapchat and say something like "its over loser. Tripp is right. I’ve been using this advice and technique since my 20s. I am now 33, yes I am still single but I choose to be because I have not met anyone who I wanted to settle down with in quite a while. And that is OK with me. Do not fall for peoples so-called unwarranted opinions of what you should be doing with your life, partners, etc.

What do you do when you want something serious with someone and dont want to date a bunch of women? I have done that but i end up feeling worse. I don't agree with your solution: "Be more attractive and she won't ghost you." That's like telling someone to be more ugly and they won't get raped. There is no fail-safe against shitty behaviour. A person with avoidant tendencies will ghost others regardless of how attractive, wealthy, or desirable they are; do even the slightest thing that puts them off, they go cold turkey. Women work of off emotions. If she feels it, she doesn't ghost. And if she doesn't feel it, she ghosts. There is really no way around it. I'm successful, tall, well-educated, confident, and loyal and I still got ghosted. Attraction is binary; it either happens or it doesn't. Work on yourself but don't assume that you won't be ghosted thereafter. Ghosting is wrong whether the other person is attractive or not.

My girlfriend at the time ghosted me for a week, but I only thought that she was busy. It wasn’t until a few days later that I started feeling worried. So me, being my dumb self, decided to search for her because I was worried and a little angry that she was ignoring me. I went to her house, no response. I spoke with her mom at her job but she apparently never even told her mom about our relationship which is very weird. Lastly, I spoke with her friend about her cheating on me bc that’s what her mom told me (my girlfriend wasn’t). I was absolutely freaking out and I couldn’t think straight. Her friend made her respond to me finally and my girlfriend was pissed. She originally wanted to hang out with me but when she realized I was pulling these crazy stunts and talking to her mom who I thought knew about us, she changed her mind and ended the relationship. Some of this is her fault tho bc if she was busy, she would’ve told me that she was with one simple text. I don’t know why she waited for her friend’s call to tell me to hang out bc she was clearly not doing anything. If anyone gets ghosted, never chase someone. Simply leave her and move on. I learned my lesson.

It sucks that a lot of guys don’t know this yet but if a girl is willing to meet up with you right away after asking her out that’s a sign that’s she’s interested but if she keeps dodging you or always has something coming up when you ask her out she’s clearly not interested. I have been in a relationship with a woman for 4 years and out of nowhere she comes home from holiday gaslights me leaving me confused packs her bags moves out ghosts me leaving me more confused. I've never been ghosted before, but it happened to me for the first time recently. My female co-worker chased me for sex months (i wasn't/i am not terribly into her). We made out before the end of 2019 (but i took it just as a simple "making out session", i am not in love with her). So i was gone for two weeks, came back and she didn't say a word to me, ignoring me etc. Found out she is with my other co-worker who she knew before me :) i don't trust girls anyway so i wasn't really surprised at all :P best thing to do is to go on with your life, not a single word, no attention, no nothing. Have some dignity & self-respect guys :)
