  • This was my first trip in the Selway-Bitterrrot Wilderness.
    I've been trying to do a trip in here for years. Once again I was invited on this trip by Jessie from HYOU-WU. We were also meeting up with The Idahonian.
    We were planning on setting up a base camp at Fish Lake. Then we would day hike over to Lost Horse Lake while we were there.
    This was a great trip with great company and incredible views.

    Hiked there in the early 1970s when I lived in the upper Bitterroot Valley. Also Lost Horse & dozens more lakes. Good memories!

    I grow up in Saudi, south Saudi on the mountains, 2000 m up to sea level, but we don't have big trees neither lakes, watching videos like this specially in corona time, I would say you are lucky, run from cities to peace is so easy for you, ENJOY IT

      That is tough to hear. I hope they are able to get the fires under control and hopefully everyone stays safe doing it.

      Thanks! It was a great group to go with. We had some pretty bad smoke heading into the fall... not the only trip that it killed the views on..

    Great video! I noticed your buddies were wearing Tilley hats. I love Tilley hats and they are my favorite! I just bought a Tilley Paddler's hat at the Sportsman and Ski House in Kalispell. The hat normally goes for $110.00 but was on clearance sale for $32.99. I bought my sister a Tilley Arflo hat for $26.99 (normally $90.00). You may want to let the Idahoan and HWOH-WU know before they are all gone!

    • @mountainwanderer
      @mountainwanderer  4 роки тому

      Sounds like you got a great deal! I know that HYOU-WU's hat is a custom HYOU-WU special hat. I told Jessie I wanted one, but as of yet, I am unworthy...😃

    Beautiful! Haven't been to that stretch of the Bitterroots, but I've been into the west on Moose Creek. I want to fly in there and hike out and that looks like a good place to end up! I see you snuck in another Indian Paintbrush :)

    What a beautiful area! Did you tent camp this time? It didn't look like prime hammock camping territory. When the. kids and I head into the Boundary Waters, we like to bring a Sven Saw to process wood for campfires. Lightweight and easy to pack in. Another great video.

    • @mountainwanderer
      @mountainwanderer  4 роки тому

      No tent camping for me! I did have to find a spot up and away from the fire pit, but it wasn't too bad.
