- This was my first trip in the Selway-Bitterrrot Wilderness.
I've been trying to do a trip in here for years. Once again I was invited on this trip by Jessie from HYOU-WU. We were also meeting up with The Idahonian.
We were planning on setting up a base camp at Fish Lake. Then we would day hike over to Lost Horse Lake while we were there.
This was a great trip with great company and incredible views.

Hiked there in the early 1970s when I lived in the upper Bitterroot Valley. Also Lost Horse & dozens more lakes. Good memories!
That is great area to hike! I cannot wait to explore more it!
I grow up in Saudi, south Saudi on the mountains, 2000 m up to sea level, but we don't have big trees neither lakes, watching videos like this specially in corona time, I would say you are lucky, run from cities to peace is so easy for you, ENJOY IT
I live in a special place, there's no doubt about it! The Rocky Mountains are the marrow of the earth!
Nice to see you out enjoying the woods. Here in California our forest are closed! Enjoyed it and sorry for our smoke/
That is tough to hear. I hope they are able to get the fires under control and hopefully everyone stays safe doing it.
Fantastic Travis!
Thanks, Mitch!
It’s fun watching my adventure in someone else’s video. I had a great time out there, thanks for hanging out with me Travis! 🤙🏻
It was a great time! It is fun seeing how vastly different ours videos are.
Had a blast on this trip and laughed my ass off. Can't wait to do it again. My version of the trip will be up soon.
It was a great time! Thanks for inviting me along!
That was beautiful trip Travis, except for the smoke. Really enjoyed this video.
Thanks! It was a great group to go with. We had some pretty bad smoke heading into the fall... not the only trip that it killed the views on..
So beautiful area! Thank you.
Thank you for checking it out!
Great video, Travis!
Thanks! Thanks for checking it out!
Great video! I noticed your buddies were wearing Tilley hats. I love Tilley hats and they are my favorite! I just bought a Tilley Paddler's hat at the Sportsman and Ski House in Kalispell. The hat normally goes for $110.00 but was on clearance sale for $32.99. I bought my sister a Tilley Arflo hat for $26.99 (normally $90.00). You may want to let the Idahoan and HWOH-WU know before they are all gone!
Sounds like you got a great deal! I know that HYOU-WU's hat is a custom HYOU-WU special hat. I told Jessie I wanted one, but as of yet, I am unworthy...😃
You snuck this one in on us but a pleasant morning surprise. Nice wilderness playground to spend a few days in. Thanks for the preview and the virtual vacation!
It was a cool place. I'm looking forward to doing more trips in there.
Wow, that was an absolutely wonderful video, breathtaking scenery, incredible photography, totally awesome! Thank you!
Thank you! This was an incredible trip!
👍🏽 Great video!!! Bro🌲⛰✌🏽1
Thanks for watching!
I love your videos, keep em coming. Greetings from Ireland 👍🇮🇪☘
Hello! Thanks! More videos are on the way!
That was awesome! The thumbs up for coffee like one of my favorite swedish bushtubers erik normark.
Great trip! Pretty Smokey! Beautiful terrain for sure!!
Take care. NQU
Thank you! You're the first person to see my shout-out to Erik Normark!! I'm a fan, been watching for a while.
@@mountainwanderer oh that’s awesome! I’m sure you used to follow Nagaulero then? That was a sad day for me last year when he passed. Good dude, amazing content! Good stuff!!
Great video! Love the Selway-Bitterroot. Looks like you had lots of fun. That's what it's about.
It was a great trip! Those guys are great to go backpacking with!
Love the Selway-Bitterroot wilderness area! Thanks for sharing.
I definitely plan on doing more trips here!
Two of my favorite UA-camrs hanging out in the mountains!!!! I'm so damn jealous. Beautiful place up there. I need me some Montana!
Montana has lot to offer! If you get up this way I’d love to go on a trip with you. Still blaming Dustin for screwing up our trip this last summer
@@mountainwanderer lmao! Me too!
Looked like a good and laid back time. Take care and stay safe, Al
It was a very laid back trip! Great company!
Great video Travis. What's up with the freaky hockey mask? Are you the Wilderness Jason? 🤔
Pretty sure its because Travis played Jason Vorhees in Friday the 13th...Jason Takes Manhattan.
The mask is Jessie's. I figured since he hauled it up there, I might as well shoot it.
Beautiful! Haven't been to that stretch of the Bitterroots, but I've been into the west on Moose Creek. I want to fly in there and hike out and that looks like a good place to end up! I see you snuck in another Indian Paintbrush :)
I need to get over and hike Moose Creek!
Started reading about that area when I was a teenager in the 70s. I still haven't been there to go backpacking.
It sounds like you're due to get in there!
Fantastic
Thank you!
I like ur way of settling in, as u r ñot a fisher,
Cheese stick, jerky and probably crackers...
Maybe a little nip 😋
Amazing Views!!!!!
Could you show a map as to where you are, we are new to the area, Love Your Channel! Much Thanks!!!

You bet, here is a map I made with our possible routes on it: caltopo.com/m/1UKL
What a beautiful area! Did you tent camp this time? It didn't look like prime hammock camping territory. When the. kids and I head into the Boundary Waters, we like to bring a Sven Saw to process wood for campfires. Lightweight and easy to pack in. Another great video.
No tent camping for me! I did have to find a spot up and away from the fire pit, but it wasn't too bad.
What a beautiful area!Hope the border is open next year.
Bob Alberta.
Me too! I want to get into Canada!
I used to go to fish lake all the time as a kid and jump off the cliffs my grandpas property got us there in 15 minutes on foot from where we’d park
That is awesome! Thanks for checking it out!
One of my favorite parts of the world. I know it's rattlesnake country and I'm wondering if you ran into any.
No, didn't see any snakes on this trip. I could see how they would like that country though.
I wanna go’!!
This is a great place and the hike to get in there isn't bad!
Is this the same Fish Lake that's adjacent to a USFS airstrip?
I don't think so. There was no airstrip that I saw near here and it was pretty rough country around the lake
he reminds me of Dennis Hopper
Not sure I get the reference, but Dennis Hopper will do!
Moral of the story it's a pretty hike but no fish
The views make up for a slow day of fishing, that's why I'm never disappointed when I don't catch any trout.
I saw one of the guys hook one,😉 husband of mine (Chris P)
Actually Fishing was great at Lost Horse. I am a horrible fisherman and I caught a 14 inch Yellowstone Cutthroat....beautiful fish.
There were a few fish caught at Fish Lake... they were just not caught on camera.
