I forget how desperate and amazing this song is, it’s only 2 minutes long and doesn’t waste any of it. It’s addictive and makes me feel melancholy & happiness all at once. Great great tune, one of the best of that decade
Well...not really about depression, more about the loneliness of a breakup. Actual depression is a clinical condition...For a song about depression, try "The Same Deep Water As You" by The Cure, or "My Beloved Monster" by Eels (MH issues in general)

One of the Greatest pieces ever created. So catchy, yet shades of mystic, melancholic but lashings of downright Epic. The radio version is my favorite. Absolute timeless Masterpiece.
Agree with everything you said. All I'll add is I wish they made it a little longer. More so in the 3 minutes or so mark would be ideal. Chorus is fantastic My favourite bit is at the end with the "ooohhhhs" gives me chills all the time
This song makes me so happy in a melancholic and nostalgic way. And the laid back absurd atmosphere of the video makes me smile so much. These dudes all seemed like the kinds of guys I wanted to have as friends and hang out with, not a care in the world, just loafing around and doing nothing drinking on sidewalks and having a good time.
I can't believe this song is cut out of the Disney+ version of Scrubs. It's one of the most impactful scenes in the whole series because of this song, which is stuck into my head for almost 20 years now. Why didn't they pay for it? It's The Coral and not Metallica or AC/DC, I mean for god's sake what could that cost? Unbelievable.
I absolutely love this song - and how well it fits the iconic scene in Scrubs when JD and Elliott are turning in for the night, JD goes for Elliott, she swings her head to see him with her hair flying around, and then they make out with the desperate passion that’s exhibited by this song. It reminds me of my wife - when she and I were getting married in few months (in 2007) but obstacle after obstacle was in our way - but when I’d see her, I couldn’t do anything but desperately throw myself into her being, and she the same with me. We’ve been married for 15 yrs and have two amazing daughters, as well as the baggage of hurtful words and fights accumulated over the years… but once in a while, in a random situation, someone might ask me what the favorite time(s) in my life was… for sure when my daughters were born tops the list… but I’m ashamed I don’t outwardly admit how special my time with my wife was as we were waiting to be married… but, back to that time of desperate want, this song used to capture my anxious desire better than anything else when I’d be sitting in my lonely room and dreaming of her… God! She’s sleeping next to me but we’re miles apart… little does she know I never once betrayed her trust, never compromised our marriage. I hope you never betrayed my trust and never compromised our marriage, and that we can be madly in love with each other again. I love you N.
The music the lyrics the settings ,the backgrounds...(The lonely room is amazingly creative) all entwining one with the other...and the outcome is'dreaming of you'.
