- In Part 5 or our series you'll hear more from Sophie about the individual songs on the EP. You'll also get to hear the musicians behind the project NERD out! Producer Greg Curtis, Co-Producer Victoria Fatu, and Arranger Rob Wasilauski discuss their process and take a deeper dive into one of the songs. You'll also get to learn about the THOUSAND DOLLAR NOTE. You'll also get to hear more about how Sophie got interested in Frank Sinatra.
Sophie Fatu's first EP "Love Is..." was recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, CA. She recorded in the classic iconic room where Frank Sinatra himself recorded.
Sophie started her singing career at the age of 4, when she was featured on NBC's "Little Big Shots" with Steve Harvey. Her viral videos of Sinatra covers earned the love of fans all over the world. At the age of 5, Sophie was first invited to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she performed "Fly Me to the Moon". #SophieFatu audition for AGT consisted of singing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”. She appeared on Season 13 of America’s Got Talent. Where she earned acclaim for being a young singer with an old soul. Additionally, Simon Cowell suggested she date his son which was a fan favorite moment.
It takes a village to make an EP as special as “Love Is…” starting with Executive Producer Greg Curtis and co-Producer/“Mom-ager” and World-renowned concert pianist Victoria Fatu. Greg spent 21 years in the publishing, recording, and creative development areas of the music entertainment business. He is also the Founder and President of Extraordinary Records & Extraordinary Artists, ventures born from a deeply connected and genuine love of music and the music creators.
We assembled a team of legacy musicians to support Sophie in her first EP. Music Contractor Joe Soldo, Music Recording Engineer Gary Lux, Piano Player Tom Ranier, Bass Player Chuck Berghofer, Drummer Jeff Hamilton, and Bari Sax Player Gene “Cip” Cipriano to name a few. Vocals and mix by Tony Friedman. Conductor/Arranger Rob Wasilauski. Sophie was also supported by her father, World Renowned Violinist Cristian Fatu.

Hi Diane! As I’m sure you are aware, Sophie depends on her mom for a lot of things. Like any young child. For example she’s not permitted to do her acting or singing without her mom being there. That’s just the law. Sophie loves her mom dearly. As do we. In these interviews Sophie chose how she wanted to sit or talk. She likes to be affectionate and close to her mom. Which seems pretty great, don’t you agree?
And as far as anyone anywhere at all...it’s entirely their business how they dress. And not anyone else’s place to comment nor criticize it. Personally we can’t imagine getting in front of a camera and not putting in some effort to look and therefore FEEL our best about ourselves. We all deserve to feel good about ourselves and how we present. We are confident you’d agree.
