@@Illumignostic not exactly. The vicarious riff is a triplet hammer on, 0-3-5. The tempest riff is a quadruplet, 0-3-5-0, where he pulls of after hammering to the 5th fret. Slightly different, harder to nail.
The guitar only is great dude, Adam must have had so much fun writing it

I couldn't agree more. The videos are succinct and well-linked and documented, without Mr. Winters injecting 3 minutes of "Hey guys I'm gonna now tell you what the video will be about" introductions or ending with the "make sure to like subscribe and hit the bell." I wish all UA-cam videos were so made.

Edit after viewing. First of all, notification squad. Been waiting for this one since the beginning (you might even remember my comment, lol). This song has a special place in my heart for some reason. I guess it's the musicianship, the dynamic of the song, the guitar, effects.
I have to say, masterfully done Cameron. The use of the epilady is ingenious. Props to you for thinking of that.
I wish someone did all the guitar parts playing simultaneously, like the two solos overlapping, but even the most prominent solo is hard to transcribe so I get that.
The tone, effects, spot on. Can't wait to see you and opiateofthemasses cover the new album.

Thanks for the kind words! I personally think this is the best song ever written. At least, it’s my favorite. I tried to do all the layers, but since the underlying layer is just nonsense, it ended up being nonsense on top of nonsense and it didn’t really sound good.

K....weird suggestion...if you happen to not own an epilady, you can do crazy shit with your slide on 17 and use a vape pen switched on near neck pickup for weird noises and sliding around. Vape pen over pickup sounds a bit like a taser.
I have a 15 minute drum track and I’m getting a guitar again soon. Im planning on making an epic ass song inspired by third eye and you just gave me the best idea. I’m so gonna use that!

TOOL RIFFS it’s called an Epilady, it’s for hair removal. Adam Jones spoke in an interview how he likes the crazy sounds it can make through the pickups.
