- Hello & Welcome back to Caravan Escapades and welcome to this Vlog, this was our first trip in the new caravan, Was it a Success?? Watch and find out. We stay at Orchard Meadow CL in Bibury, in the Cotswolds. It is a lovely site and a great place to explore. We visited, Cirencester, Bourton on the Water, Burford and of course Bibury. We had a great time in the new Caravan, and it was a success, well almost. The Awning sprung a leak, the field was boggy, and we have a few snagging issues with the new caravan. Great video 👍 that CL looks lovey and what a great location! Such gorgeous towns and and villages around there. Arlington Row in Bibury is famous for being depicted on British Passports issued during a certain time (cant remember when lol). Glad you had a good trip and belated happy birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉 all the best
Thank you. Yes, it was a nice site, a little wet but that couldn't be helped. It really was lovely. We tool a drive around the area and there were some stunning Villages.

How do you find the caravan steady locks? They look neat and tidy and are a good extra to the hitch and wheel locks. Are they easy to operate or a bit of a faff?
On the Yellow locks that I have on the front legs Once the Adaptor is fitted which is not to bad, The Locks are so Easy to Fit and Remove it takes seconds. The Tube Locks can be a little bit of a Faf but not to bad, You do really have to get down on your knees to fit these,. Hope that helpos. James

We had an air awning. It leaked we got rid and bought a poled version 👍Result.
This is the first time I have had an Issue with an Air awning, with using them for at least 5 years at least 10 times a year. I guess I have been lucky 😁
Great vlog James as always glad you enjoyed the new van. We had a few issues with our van fridge door breaking, doors dropping and not closing. I think it’s expected nowadays unfortunately the quality of the build on ours wasn’t great, glue stains on ceilings window locks had a screw not in the hole but below it. Still love our van tho and caravan centre fixed instantly.

Hi Ryan, first of all thanks for the Belated Birthday wishes, We are loving the new Van, Thankfully for now we only have a few minor issues, Which I know our dealer will fix no quibble at all. It does seem that it is something we seem to have accepted as a Caravan Consumer the not great Quality. Like you we do love the Van. Lol I am really not sure what the Negative comment is about. 😁

Thank you, guys, for sure. There are some really good CLs out there, from just a field to one's that have a full sweet of facilities. We ha e found some really nice ones. Even local to us.
Happy Birthday 🎂 James. £26 / night for serviced isn’t bad at all 👍. Cotswolds is a favourite area of ours and we visited Bibury a few years ago. Personally I would have had the Paintseal done immediately before first use and before road dirt got into all those nooks and crannies 😁. Best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Thanks, Rob. It really is a nice area. Agreed ref the Paint seal, but they couldn't get me booked in. I did speak to them about it, and they said it would be fine. They would give the Caravan a thorough clean. They are also going to allow me to film the process for an upcoming vlog.
Lovely look around the area, we’re off there in June, I’ve made a note of the places to eat. Hope you find the leak. Btw from my view you’re not negative just say it as it is. No point in doing anything else.
It sure was, You should love it, If you get the opportunity take a drive off the main roads and through some of the villages, they are amazing. I think I may just have to replace the Bladder, Thank you, I didn't think I was that Negative, I just try to be me. 🙂

yes that old landcover would get you wherever you wanted to go.
Thanks for watching so far 😶. Lol I reckon when those Caravans were built the Max Payload wasn't even considered. That Land rover was for sure a cool camper. Happy Camping James

Thank you. It's a Dometic Leggera 220s. It is a good little lightweight awning, and I have been pleased with it so far. Apart from the slow leak I seem to have.
I had a new caravan 2023 model.Elddis Affinity 550. And I must say I was very disappointed in the finish and quality for a caravan £30.000. caravan going in to dealer on June service and repairs.
I'm sorry to hear that. The caravan hasn't been 100%, but the issues are only small. I guess I am lucky that we have a dealer that will sort them straight away. Although they shouldn't have to. It does seem to be the way with the while caravan manufacturers.

Oh really, I thought in most cases, i was quite positive. I will try and be a bit more upbeat in future vlogs.
