Love that new awning. Every trip you learn more and more. I think the mirror you’ll be able to turn it round and take it apart and put the mirror on the other side. Get yourself some hard plastic pipe and cut yourself all different lengths and joiners makes life a doddle for service pitches. Also get some awning rail holder to hold the pipe up
It was the first time we had used the mirrors so didn’t have time to look at them but it a job for this weekend and I think your right if I can take them apart and turn them around it should work. Waiting for some pipe for drainage to come and I will get that sorted 👍
@@CaravanTrails yea been there always a project to when caravaning. Hopefully the pipe will make it easier for you on serviced pitches. Keep it up vids are really good 👍🏻
Great video. I spent a few holidays at Vauxhall when I was a kid. I’m 60 now so it’s as few years ago now. Your kids will always remember your caravan trips. I have. Such happy memories xxx
We have had a few holidays there in a static caravan and it’s good for when you have kids with you just to keep them entertained first time taking our own caravan and even though it’s smaller then a static I did prefer it.
Nice. We have a Dometic Rally Pro 390s awning and it was thoroughly tested this week whilst we were away nr Glastonbury....... very impressed with how it withstood the torrential rain and strong winds. We always stay on hard standings and I bought some Marquee tent pegs - they really are ace. Love the videos, and it's great to see the kids being involved.
I think next time I will make sure we are on a bigger hardstanding it was a bit awkward getting the awning down without getting it muddy. Kids do really enjoy going away not sure how long it last for as they are getting older but at the moment they enjoy it, glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Another great video guys, good music to accompany it to. Looks like you had a great time at Vauxhall. Brilliant drone footage as well. I live just up the road from Great Yarmouth in ormesby st Margaret so I recognised everything. . The awning you purchased looks ideal. Looks like your enjoying your van. I bet it helps being a lorry driver as well when it comes to reversing. I got my first new to me caravan a few weeks ago also an elddis but yet to go on my maiden voyage with it. I’ve never towed a van in my life let alone reversed one. I bet I’ll make a right hash of it 😂. Look forward to your next instalment guys. Stay safe and happy caravanning. Andy from Norfolk. 👍
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video. It was a really good weekend and the weather wasn’t to bad in the end. Exciting news about getting a caravan I am sure your be fine just take it slow and maybe stay local on your first few trips out that’s what we did and it payed off as there are always something that you will forget hope you have a fantastic time when you do get out and about👍
Love the great Yarmouth video great awning we have got one of them but get the roof lining keeps condensation from dripping everywhere there on eBay at the minute for £45 instead of paying £100 quid at store good job enjoy Steve & Mandy on tour
Hi Steve & Mandy we are glad you like the video, I did notice a few drops inside on the roof and thought it was condensation. I didn’t know you could get a roof lining, so I will be deafly looking into thank you for the info 👍
Good move getting an air awning. Have had poled but air much easier and quicker to up. But moved to an air canopy now. Has two sides but we just put one side up that gives a bit of shelter.
Things are very expensive here in NZ food camping/caravan sites. Power, mortgages/rent/rates etc even petrol. rego for vehicles have gone up $50.00 each apart from electric/ gone up.etc. your camp site is lovely
Really enjoyed your vlog, especially as I am sure I know you from my time at VW Letchworth! Anyway subscribed to your channel, looking forward to comparing notes on our future caravan adventures!
Enjoyed your vlog and experience at the site. If you are in the area again, the Caravan & Motorhome Club site at Gt Yarmouth Racecourse is worth a look. Its a 5 minute walk to the beach at Caister and almost on the sea front near the Golden Mile for the kids. As you came up the A47 Acle straight from the Norwich direction, Norwich Camping is a huge camping superstore at Blofield (about half way from Norwich) should you need anything or just want to have a look around. They have everything there. Enjoy your next trip!
Thank you, we did see this on the CAM website and we are going try it out probably next year now and when we haven’t got the kids with us we picked vauxhall holiday to try and entertain the kids a bit lol
Great vlog. We live just up the road in yarmouth.... the mirror is a simple fix. Undo the fastening and turn the arm round. Then the mirror will be pointing fwds. Undo the nut of the back of the mirror and slide the mirror round so it is pointing backwards... sorted.....
Nice vlog, enjoyed it. Have a look at Jaid designs draft stoppa to cover your wheel. Breathable groundsheet and a awning carpet and you're set! (Apart from some drainage pipes, Colapz are excellent, compact, bit pricey but buy cheap buy twice.
Hi do what I did walk round the site you are on. just see what other caravaner,s have done so you can get some good tips and ideas.Teat yourselves to a carpet for the awning. On the plus side caravan folk are friendly.
After this trip i did get myself a carpet makes such a difference, I do often find myself looking at other peoples set ups with out making it look to obvious😅
Thank you glad you liked the video, that’s really kind of you to offer your awning and we really appreciate the offer but we did get other awning this time we got an air awning,
Was thinking nice reverse onto the pitch but since you're a professional driver, so you should have 🤣🤣🤣 Those hedges are a bit higher than normal, a bit crap for light. How was the pitch price? 🤔 Nice video buddy 👍
I had to get it right with the reversing because Claire was watching 😂 if we go there again I would definitely have one of the premium pitches like you said blocks out a lot of light and not much of a view. It was easter weekend we stayed Good Friday to bank holiday Monday at it was £200.
This is what we thought don’t understand it though because I can’t fine a right one anywhere 😂 it works at the moment and saves me the £1000 fine I just look a bit odd 😂
Looks like you have made all the starter mistakes .. worth getting a long flexi pipe for drainage .. and get yourself a kampa sabre light for the awning .. ..and a nice awning carpet makes a hell of a difference .. if your keeping the van a motor mover is a good but pricey investment
Yes definitely made some mistakes along the way! I have ordered an awning carpet, yes need to sort my drain pipe out hopefully get that sorted before we go away next. Not going to bother with a motor mover as like you said there are expensive and hopefully only going to have the caravan for a few seasons would like to upgrade to a newer caravan once we are 100% sure caravanning is for us
Like you videos and how honest you are about being novices, although you seem to be learning quickly! We are a brand new caravanning review channel too, so make sure to check us out!
Just seen your channel keep videos coming, lovely caravan and omg I thought you had stolen my dog 😂 yours looks identical to mine 🐶 (yet to feature in our video as my oldest likes him at home with her)

Great to see your new adventures coming together, reminds me when we started caravning years ago.
Just found your channel a couple of weeks ago. Lovely couple 😊 you bought your first caravan at the same time we did. Liking your vlogs 👍🏻

You want to try east Runton norfolk, great site cmcs.
I went to Vauxhall caravan site, with a tent and my mother and father about 57 years ago, in my dad's taupe rose coloured Morris 1000 traveller.
Wow I bet it looks a lot different now!

It was a lot quicker putting it up and taking it down good investment just can’t wait till the summer when u can sit out side in it 😊
Fab video, lovely awning just look out for a groundsheet now .
You seem a lovely family, hope you have lots of happy times in your caravan xx
Thanks so much 😊 yes the plan is to get the awning carpet before we go away in a few weeks

Great vid buddy, we went to Dorset and god it rained for the full holiday, hayho nice to get away though, keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks 👍 to be honest it didn’t rain as much as what the weather forecast said it was going to. all in all it was a pretty dry Easter weekend

I was late to the party this week wasn't I, definitely not 1st comment this week 😂

I live quiet close to grafham water , I cycled around the lake years ago, I always fancy trying that Holliday park xx
we are going do a vlog from there in a few weeks so stay tuned 👍

Looks like 2 left hand mirrors to me 🤔
This is what we thought don’t understand it though because I can’t fine a right one anywhere 😂 it works at the moment and saves me the £1000 fine I just look a bit odd 😂
There's a screw in the back of the mirror holding to the arm. Remove turn the arm and refit.
Such a big caravan and no mover?! 😳 Trust me. At the end of your first season you want one!
When we get a newer caravan I will make sure it has one so far it hasn’t been a problem

Them drone shots are great and so high up! What drone are you using? Also, loving the music choices.
It’s a DJI mini 2 nice and light so you can pretty much fly it anywhere

Turn the mirror arm around so it’s the correct way 😂
I was in a bit of a rush but I did try that all that happen was the back of the mirror was facing me 😂
Unscrew the mirror from the bar and attach it the other way round. Use a Phillips on the screw at the end.
