How is it guaranteed to explode? The last truck I bought for $55k was in 2016 for a 2017 Ram Rebel with a 5.7. Only “mid-sized” trucks with “performance” are MSRP’d at that price.

Welp... every manufacturer has had to increase prices. Tacoma TRD Pro is now 65k. Tundra TRD Pro is 75k. Raptor starts at 80. 4 years ago you could pick up a new Tacoma for 45, Tundra for 55, and Raptor for 60. It all went up 20k dollars. And surprisingly as well average salary has stayed at 60k for all these 4 years.

With the stock power levels, I wouldn't be too surprised if someone gets a tune and some bolt ones and get 900+HP. If the B58 in the Z4/Supra can handle 1000hp on stock internals, I'd imagine this should to close to that, if not better.
Yeah possibly, there’s already tunes for the TRX’s hellcat that make it push 1000 hp, but those Nissan GTR’s are twin turbo v6s and a simple tune will make a GTR beat pretty much anything:
If you read the specs of the high output engine, the hardware used and the stock turbo size tells us that it will definitely make more power than a trx or even a redeye engine would- with basic bolt ons and a tune. This engine is quite similar to modern Bmw turbo i6’s.
If ram engineers followed suit with every other vehicle maker, the new turbo engines just don't have much headroom left for more power without going boom.
The point of this truck is to make it a v6 twin turbo raptor competitor, while the TRX is a Raptor R competitor now. Also an I6 engine can produce some good ass numbers and power with a simple tune to make it better than a TRX.
It's not just them. Keep in mind due to inflation, Tacoma TRD, Tundra TRD, Trail Boss 1500, Rebel, and Raptor all have gone up 20k in 4 years since 2020. Average salary 4 years ago is the same today at 60k. So salary is the same but prices on select vehicles have gone up by 20K.
Many brands came out with a bunch of new models, that were all hyped up over the past 4/5 years. People got excited and over paid. Now they've tapped out the people that WANT IT. Now they're trying to sell to the people who DON'T NEED IT.

What's sad is less engine.... but it's the same price. People say same power, but it's not. It has to have two turbos to achieve, roughly, the same as a naturally aspirated 6.4L. That's running at top end. If you're going to do any towing, I'd stay away from this truck. Operating at top end like the for extended periods halfs the life of any motor. Even as good as the straight 6s have been, historically. Dodge is going to have to show people that they've overcome those obstacles, especially at the prices they're charging. They may have. But they need to show it. That's going to take 2-3 years, minimum.
Is it available with a front bench seat, fully adjustable air suspension, longer bed and reclining rear seats and that awesome split multi function tailgate?

The inline 6 is the true masterpiece design though. Ford had one in 80/90’s and got rid of it because it never blew up. No parts were ever sold. So they got rid of it.
