Drew always finds a way. I see you've expanded rotten row corner with more mower carcasses to draw from. Very good result from junk. Definitely the black top looks better.
Hi James, thanks for the compliment mate! Yes, the junk pile is growing at the moment again. I do have to have a cleanup, but I’m always a bit reluctant until the carcasses are down to bare bones! Cheers Drew
Nothing wrong with Victa engines. Bloody awesome engines. I have two mowers, one a 550 self propelled and a 460 mulch master which I picked up and only needed a coil which I had. As long as they have the correct amount of oil in fuel and a clean air filter, they will run for years.
Nice Job Drew, that base is a Victa Bronco base exactly the same as my Bronco. I like the Mustang 20 cowling it goes with the red base and the silver wheel caps etc. all in all well done loved the video
nice job mate . you can use a spacer washer on the boss to enable you to use a non heavy duty cutting disc. Also the engine would run better with the lower cowl in place because without it it affects the governor . one other thing if that mustang engine is a V50 it should have a straight manifold. I just finished putting a mustang 20 v50 engine on a Victa 460 utility and had the same issue as you with the cutting disc . cheers
Once again Drew a great video and also a beaut result.Really love the cherry red deck.Hard choice between the black or white cowling fuel tanks as they are both iconic...But I lean towards the white one if you can replace the sticker....I think you can buy replacements if not either looks great.....I also think the resprayed muffler makes it pop! Looks like plenty of tread left so it may have had an easy mowing life! Will you repair the original deck for a future project? All the best mate.
Hi Gary, I hadn't thought a bout a replacement sticker for the white top ... that is a great idea!! Also, I have never tried any sort of alloy welding so I'm not sure I am the best person to try and repair the deck :) Cheers Drew
Great video!!! I love the mustang 20 top cover but the black also. Any chance you could get away with painting the mustang 20 top black without compromising the sticker?
Hi Drew. I'm watching all your victa repairs. I also have few victas but where can i get carb parts like the primer etc. I live in South africa and i think Victa withdraw from our country. Is their a place online where i can by parts for my victas? Thx and be bless with your videos
Hi Willie, great that you have reached out from South Africa! I just love South Africa as a country, beautiful place! I didn't actually know that Victa's were exported/imported to South Africa, do you know for how long? What specific models do you have? I buy most of my parts on eBay from a variety of different sellers as no one seller seems to have all of the parts that I purchase on a semi-regular basis. So, just go to the Australian eBay site (www.ebay.com.au) and type in the part you need and you will have a number of options! Cheers Drew
Agreed they can be a little loud but you can just stuff steel wool in the muffler to make them quieter and the beauty of these is that they are so simple they go for ever and are super powerful!! Cheers Drew
Great stuff great to see these awesome machines coming back to life. What oil and radio do you run in these machines? I understand you can run 50:1 with the victa oil and have less smoke. What do you think? Cheers Pete
Hi Pete, Most of the time I run the premium Stihl 2 Stroke Oil, it doesn't smoke much at all and yes you can run at a lower ration of oil to fuel, however typically I run at the 25:1 anyway just because my father was always very conservative and drilled into me to put a bit more oil in for extra lubrication :) Cheers Drew
@@Bottldiggerofnz Hi Mate, so me personally I would ditch the points and condenser and simply install a newer style coil with the ignition module built in. I believe they just bolts straight in with no modification and you just though all the old stuff out (points, condenser, etc). If you don't want to do that then the first thing that I would do is get some fine sandpaper and clean the points and then check the gap, but as I say you will get a for more effective spark than this mower ever had by upgrading to a modern coil with ignition module built in! Cheers Drew
Hi Mate, we know about them but these old VICTAs are way better in my opinion! The Power, Noise, and Smell of a Victa 2 Stroke on a Saturday morning, you just can't beat it!! Cheers Drew
Well done putting the two together, using some of my junk there! Great to see it being re-used and not thrown into landfill. Another Great Video!
Thanks mate, always happy to take some more of your junk off your hands!! Cheers Drew
Nice job! A testament to how robust the engine blocks are. Very entertaining viewing.
Thanks Mate, I personally am still surprised it ran myself!! Cheers Drew

Your up to your old tricks again? Planting mowers around the suburbs

I found a victa 2 stroke mustang from 1974
Awesome, does it run? Cheers Drew

@@DrewFixIt yeah kind of thing of that because it’s still not getting spark well it had spark and then lost it but where would you get a newer coil ?
What absolute nightmare of an engine design. That don't know about Briggs & Stratton or Kohler engines in Aussieland??
Australians have heard of briggs and kohler engines, keep in mind this engine is 35 years old.. Nowadays all we have is Briggs, kohler or honda.
