4 small blades, no wonder they'll go through anything. I see it didn't take long to fill up your shed!! Lol, I know how that goes, been doing it for nearly 50 yrs. Nice job cannibalizing for that Victa, can't wait to see it in action👏👏😀
Great work…I’m learnin as a 50 year old woman with a major stroke ill person for a husband I have to do things myself… so your teaching me a lot Sean …Thank you
Your new addition is awesome. I grew up with a Dad who was a mower mechanic, and I didn't know that repairs could be done without swearing 😂😂😂 Great job Sean 🛠🙂🛠
I would never have thought watching someone fix up a mower would be something I would watch and enjoy. My father passed away in January and he use to work in an iron foundry in NSW. Watching you brings back nice thoughts of my Dad and that he was such a hard worker - I even remember the smell of welding and grinding needless to say I miss him very much. Thank you for sharing.
Yours was in better condition than the Victas I've managed to pick up, with exception of the missing wheels. In Scotland (UK) they're hard to find and often just not looked after after being put in a damp shed somewhere. The ones I've rescued still need a bit of work, but aren't too bad now. Strangely enough blades were easy to find, one company had clones they were selling off cheap!
I love the 2 strokes :) Check out my other channel Blade Mate Lawn Care to see it in action. I have several videos there with 2 strokes doing damage to some long grass!
Great to see someone restoring an old mower to be used again. These days rather than fix/maintain people just buy a new one and throw the old one out on the council pickup pile
Great collection of Spare parts Sean. I love how all wheels adjust at once. Great you found a 505. First time this year, lawn cut low, swept with tow behind Brinley Sweeper, fertilized with Weed and Feed and then rolled in 2 directions. Ontario Canada.
I have one off these great Mowers still going great. Had mine Fromm new 21 years old should have got two and left one in the box it is that good off a mower great site.
Great to have an Aussie lawn/garden care and repair channel on you tube. More women are buying and doing lawn maintenance now as single is the way to go, or you are now doing your parents yard as they are too frail to do much any more. Could you include repairing a snipper repair and service plus how to do up the carby on a 2 and 4 stroke mower and a snipper as well ... mine is an older model, I like how you edge the grass around the concrete gutters and driveways ... keep the uploads coming ♥️👍🏼
I watched your latest video mowing with it and it works great. I know how it is to be able to fix things with spare parts, my dads a mechanic so always is our go to for having different parts for stuff lol. I’m watching from Canada 🇨🇦 and thoroughly enjoy watching all your videos, keep up the great work👍
That was pretty damn cool! I love seeing the different designs of equipment in other countries. Air intake on the handle, never would have imagined that!
I firmly believe the older Victa 2 strokes are the best lawnmowers ever built. The good thing about them is you can get them from council buy backs for $10.00 with a catcher and there's rarely very much wrong with them. That one truly is a rare find.
Great video, Sean. Looking forward to seeing your Victa 505 acquisition, on your next Blade Mate Lawn Care presentation. I know your passion for the brand, speaks for itself, with the results you achieve. Enjoy your approach and patience, to get the restoration completed. See you soon, mate ⭐️👍😎
My Father in law bought a brand new Toro and had it in his garage in front of where he parks. He pulled in too far one day and shoved it through the wall and bent everything. He gave it to me. Straightening out those wheel brackets was a chore. Thankfully I had a dead old Toro in the corner of the yard and was able to use the handle from it. I love fixing up mowers, except for the expensive geared wheels. Thanks for the video. Glad your new shed has a good wind rating.
wheels from the current victa 560 fit and they still use the same final drive in the wheels, a nice simple system, have a yellpw 505 wit the 207cc ultima engine built by tecumseh for victa
Hi Sean came here after you mentioned it from your BMLC channel and I'm loving this channel just as much. I restored a 1755 Rover Rancher ride on a few years back and watching this vid has now inspired me to get another one to do. Keep up the great work mate.
I love your channel. I love restoration channels and while you didnt restore to showroom shine new it works perfectly and that's what you were going for. It's not going to set on a shelf..lol You'll come a waltzing Matilda with me. 👍
The last thing you want to do with a fully restored lawn mower is mow lawns with it and tarnish is straight away. You just want to make it sound and functional again,
505 are a great mower. If I remember right Victa had an optional low speed kit for the self propel, which would be a very rare find. With the pull cord, if it’s nylon cord you can burn the ends with a lighter which stops it fraying and makes it easier to thread as it melts to a point.
Just found your channel I have Victa mowers 1 is a 505 pro 1 master catch 510 and a brand new 510 never been started ,one of the last ones in the UK in 2008 ,also have 2 Victa mulch masters in working order and a couple that need work on them, thers also a Victa Super 600 ,I'm looking out for a Victa Super 700 with a JALO 2STROKE Engine
Hi , recently I sold a B + S to someone for a discount when the traded in their old 1971 2 stroke victa - got it running but need a coil /magneto . Nice vid and never seen a self propelled victa before.
alot of parts are interchanble on victa even blades from 550 or super24 can fit push victas . 550 can do alot of work just hang on and it will pull you along
As Big Kev used to say I'm excited! Worth the wait! That Mustang on the shelf was interesting. Never knew that base and engine cover combination existed.
G'day Shaun I have never seen a Victa like that one and I didn't know that they made a self propelled one either. I reckon that they are ripper great to work on to there's not much to them great find mate. Your she's looking great I love how you have all the mowers on shelves, It's really coming a long you are getting together terrific tools, parts washer and sand blaster and other equipment, it's great to see how you are going and progressing, by the way Will is doing a great job on the camera take care I really love these restorations John
great work mate looks lovely and schmick and the side of the deck looks like it needs a bit of paint detailing but others than that pretty lovely awesome stuff Sean mate cheers and stay safe too.
Wish I could get bearings for Victa mowers in the UK at that price ,that bearing is £22.00 the ones on the drive shaft are £25.00 the 505 model and the master catch have different size drive shafts ,the bearings for the wheels on a master catch 510 are specific to Victa 28 14 8 standard off the shelf bearings are 28 15 8 both same number 6002
Last year I gave two riding lawn mowers to someone, the same brand. The guy restores and collects a certain kind of mower. I thought I was going to have to call 911 and get him a box of tissue, I even had him put them on my trailor and I hauled them to his house. I told him I sank $1100 into one of them. I told him I wanted those pieces of crap off my property. 😆👍 I bought a new rider, different brand and this year got a bag to go on it. Is this, Blade Mate Lawn And Repair?
i found a mower at the tip looked like exactly the same setup except has an orange cover on top says mustang was not in good condition it didn't belt or drive pulleys but I did get it started and then about three weeks ago i found another just like the one you called its cousin in better condition it needed couple parts from the mustang so i took from after using both the mustang seemed to be more power full and didn't bog in long grass as easy even though engines look same size is the mustang bigger engine? watched the video more than once and you made my day thank you very much your collection appears very similar to mine . only just found your channels nd feel like i have a long lost brother over the ditch well thanks again and any extra info on those mowers i would appreciate knowing also call it my favourite lol if you come to NZ look me up i would be more than happy to cook and show you around etc
Gday Richard, sorry for the late reply. Always good to meet another Victa 2 stroke enthusiast! If your mustang has a 2 stroke power torque on it, then it's the same engine. My understanding is that the only differences to the powertorques are slight carby variances, notably on the larger models such as the Super 600
Hi Sean, Just acquired a Victa 550 Professional...ex council machine , self propelled ... I am a fellow lawnie and restorer ... The minister for finance and all things of a political correct nature ! Has offered me a one in one out policy for lawn mowers... I have a cunning plan of leaving any new additions in the corner of the shed with plenty of dust ... which means it's been there for years ... Can you advise if the blade disc can be sourced... it is a bit rusty... Haven't had it running but am assured it's a runner from the previous owner... Many Thanks Nils 😊 NWL Lawns and Gardens
Ive got 2 of then here mate I did see one at the dump one day I should have rescued it too BUT it was kinda a little twisted up as it was caught up in some other metal and stuff
Its easier to install the pull start cord onto the reel with it running through the handle guide stop, Then remove the guide stop screws to rotate the reel and tension it that way, By using the cord notch on top etc. Then lastly reinstall the cord guide / stopper and thats it ! 😂
I used to have a1985 victor commando it would cut through phalaris and sags like cutting through hot butter , the motor is still good but the rest of the frame has more patches than original metal , had nothing since that would do the same job
Great restoration. Curious where did you learn how to do all of that? Wheels and axels and the pull cord looked to be a huge problem but was actually fairly simple fix. Impressed with your know how.

Let's put that down to fancy editing 🤣😉
I would never have thought watching someone fix up a mower would be something I would watch and enjoy. My father passed away in January and he use to work in an iron foundry in NSW. Sorry for your loss, I hope you and your family are well!
So sorry to hear about your father , best wishes to you!
The scissors though... ✂️. Brilliant refresh on this beast.
Finally, I see someone who knows how to adjust clutch drag on his cordless drill! lol
Yours was in better condition than the Victas I've managed to pick up, with exception of the missing wheels. Nice work mate. Good to see another one added to the working fleet 👌
Cheers Tim
When you first started her up, I thought I heard a two-stroker ! I always enjoy watching you guys on the other side of the world. Cheers!
I love the 2 strokes :) Check out my other channel Blade Mate Lawn Care to see it in action. I have several videos there with 2 strokes doing damage to some long grass!
Just found this second chanel of yours Sean. Mower restos are a favourite of mine. Will get stuck into this channel definitely
Great to see someone restoring an old mower to be used again. These days rather than fix/maintain people just buy a new one and throw the old one out on the council pickup pile
i have 10 mowers now its disease all 2 strokes. you cant beat em. great stuff mate
The satisfying feeling of knocking that cap on after a successful salvage

I have one of these it was my grandfathers he purchased it in 87 I have all of the sales brochures etc the mower is still used by me every fortnight.
Awesome!
I saw Victa in the title and instantly clicked the like button, great job mate keeping the good old Aussie made mowers alive👍
Legend!
my favourite part is your enthusiasm
I watched your latest video mowing with it and it works great. I’m watching from Canada 🇨🇦 and thoroughly enjoy watching all your videos, keep up the great work👍
just picked up a victa corvette 700 off an elder bloke and one of the best mowers we have, so much grunt
That was pretty damn cool! I love seeing the different designs of equipment in other countries. Air intake on the handle, never would have imagined that!

You got that right!

Great to hear!
If only the tire part could be replaced on the wheels. Magnificent old mowers. It sounds really good!
It's awesome you have a cool hobby collecting what you like.. 2 cycle mowers are rare in the US as well! I have me a couple, myself.
Very cool!
I love your channel. I love restoration channels and while you didnt restore to showroom shine new it works perfectly and that's what you were going for. It's not going to set on a shelf..lol

Great work! Thanks for saving it from the landfill!
Great work and thanks for sharing this with us take care
Those Victa engines are pretty powerful. My grandfather had a Victa Pro 505, modded the engine and sourced a new body. It was good as new
I can hardly wait to see it in action!

Parts washer, blasting cabinet, welder.....shop is coming along now
Getting there!
Awesome shed mate. Great channel too. Just like the old days in the sheds in the heads.
Love the Victa brutes...and it runs just fine. An interesting, entertaining video.
Thank you very much!
How much fun was that! Great job. Loved it.
And it lives to mow another day...well done Sean!
:)
I love old victas, and this thing is sweet.

Ooh yeah!
Hi , recently I sold a B + S to someone for a discount when the traded in their old 1971 2 stroke victa - got it running but need a coil /magneto . Nice vid and never seen a self propelled victa before.

Thank you! I knew it was an awesome machine 😎👍
Australia should do great at Olympics - Good Luck 👍
Renew and reuse. Good job!
You made this look so easy. Nice work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Good stuff. All the Victa 2 strokes are good mowers.
Also I'm not sure but I think those special professional ones like yours have an alloy base. Very interesting unit
yes it is :)
Love the video Sean! You have some mowers packed in there that is awesome
Thanks Brad, hope you're well
Good one Sean. These were made to last, just needs a little TLC. Take care & cheers. 🥰
Thanks 👍

Sad part is few years ago had like 3 of these ended up scrapping them after I got out out of mowers
love those safety shoes... looks alot like mine😉
that piece you just sand blasted, you could use engine paint to spray that (heat resistant paint). reason is rust resistant as well.
I know, i just didn't have any on hand
Nice to have donors. Blessings mate
Thanks Robert
Can’t wait for vid of this. I’ve got one myself and they are a good machine
Score!
Awesome job mate.
Thanks Mick!
Got one. Brilliant mowers.
I love it
Thanks so much. Loved it!
So glad!

Aahh, delicious 2 stroke 😋👍
Very interesting!
Jack of all trades! Lol Sure saves money when you can fix things yourself :)
Hi Sean,
Just acquired a Victa 550 Professional...ex council machine , self propelled ...
I am a fellow lawnie and restorer ...

Archies! Best safety-thongs ever
Looks good sean
Ive got 2 of then here mate I did see one at the dump one day I should have rescued it too BUT it was kinda a little twisted up as it was caught up in some other metal and stuff
Excellent!
It's a Tank ! Envious at the sandblasting cabinet
I need one in my life.
Great find!!!

I’d love a 505, I’ve got a 550 and a couple utility’s. My dad has some rare ones such as the twin, light weight, mustang and a set of vortexes.
awesome!
In doing up four Victa Vortexes and have three Mustangs one full crank other two Powertorque.
Also have a Twin.
@@jamesfrench7299 Thats awesome mate, goodluck on your resurrection.
and if all goes well perhaps you will treat us to a video on your other channel of it in action
I used to have a1985 victor commando it would cut through phalaris and sags like cutting through hot butter , the motor is still good but the rest of the frame has more patches than original metal , had nothing since that would do the same job

Thanks Sonnie. I'm a fitter machinist by trade, which comes with a decent amount of small engine repair qualifications, and metal fitting/fabrication
Cool nice job!
Thanks!
Such a beast, damn i want one.
I have a 550 that doesn't have the self propelled.
They make awesome slashers
Neat...I've been repairing power equipment for probably close to 40 yrs. It's cool to see something different for a change (I'm in the U.S.). Does Victa produce their own engines? Love it.
Oh!! I like this channel!!
Happy to hear that!
Rockin Horse Sh!t, Hens Teeth, Honest Politician......all near impossible to find
Lol, true that!
You could mistaken for a Canadian, Sean. A sweater and flip flops! Lol
Penny Neal:
Canada = Flip flops
Australia = Thongs.
I wish the north American push mowers where built like that. Are mowers even the 2 stroke ones have one single blade and bugger up the motor when you hit something instantly.
Sadly I read swing back blades are banned in the U.S. they've proven safe since the early 1960s here and elsewhere.
Key is always replace nut and bolt sets. I've reused old ones if they aren't degraded looking. Shhh don't tell anybody!
Shit just realised this is Blade Mate! Nice!
Just randomly searching about 500 Twins, ima like I'll check this out....next miniute....
G'day from Cessnock fella.
I got a Victa Vortex and Tornado free from a gummie in Cessnock a few months back.
Excellent I wonder how you change the oil on that one?
Hi Lynn, this one is a 2 stroke so there's no oil to change!
you answered my question in another video
Hey, I know you 😂😂 awesome work mate
Oh hi!
I don't have one, but I'd reckon those wheels wouldn't be hard to 3d print, if you could get the rubber for them.
interesting idea!
mmm not sure thongs are suitable foot protection when playing with lawn mowers what would Range Safety Officer say ;) but fun video mate
I agree. Losing a toe is not enjoyable. Better safe than sorry.
Nice Mower Mate...Cast Iron Block..2 stroke...with a bit of TLC it will outlast generations of shoddy electric mowers.
For sure
AS long as some ding dong doesn't straight fuel it.
So you're saying it's about as easy to find as a black cat in a coal cellar?
It's a cute little workhorse of a mower.
