I bought my Surge about a month ago, and I love it. This EDC journey is sending me down the rabbit hole, and I need to be careful lol. This is one of my favorite channels, not just for information. But also for just entertainment. You're soft spoken, and I can zone out late at night and relax. I even fall asleep rewatching old videos. So glad to have found this channel. Thanks Marine X
Was leaning towards the obsidian, but you helped put me over the top. Ordered one after watching your video. Great job with these! Love the even review.

I'm still suck on my leatherman rebar. I never really saw a need to improve or upgrade. For me , it's been a perfectly good multitool. I usually rush when i'm doing a job. So the extra time that I have to take to open it and pull out the tool that I need Is often beneficial for me. Because Generally , when you rush , you mess things up.
That cuthook is awesome for ripping old zipties off. And charge feels more sturdy. Also dont like that Arc blade shape and couple of sharp corners of that tool. One hand operation is good..got bouth, but carrying old wave for so many years I gave my thumbs up for charge😊
I went with the Chare TTI because I was already so accustomed to using the Wave platform. As you know, the Charge TTI is basically an upgraded Wave, and I carried a Wave for almost ten years. If you actually look up CPM-S30V and compare it to CPM-Magnacut, there is certainly a difference, but is it massive, not really. Plus, I don't think the average multi-tool user really utilizes the knife to the point where they could functionally tell the difference! I used a standard Wave in 420 High Carbon, and it worked for me for years. Can I tell the difference between 420HC and S30V, yes, but is it earth shattering, not at all. Get the Charge TTI, you will like it better!!
Waiting for my ARC to arrive. One issue I have with my TTI is sometimes when I close the tool the jaws from the pliers get stuck and I have to reopen and readjust it. Not a huge deal but make me not want to carry it much. I hope the ARC will be the tool I expected when I bought the TTi.
Too many people say that '' the Surge model is the best, the changeable saw, little big scissor and tool size are better...'' but product quality and size are not good for me yeah its not bad and probably best model that its not mean you should buy. You must buy if you need pocket size (edc type) multitool like tti, wave, arc, signal. I will buy tti not perfect and other leatherman tools are not perfect too because leatherman dont make perfect tool. size color quality price sheath bitkit and other things always make problem for user. Nice video ❤️❤️
Been looking at both to add to my rebar and skeletool, but I’m leaning more towards the Victorinox Swiss tool because of the more usable screwdriver vs bit driver
charge/wave or surge feels wayyy better to me if your using the pliers for any length of time, I hate those little locating pins that stick out on the Free series
Speaking of corrosion resistance im actually noticing some rust and pitting on my wave+. i hope the arc fairs a little bit better. i cant imagine what ive used it for that would cause pitting and rust in a stainless steel multi-tool.
I'm replying because I hope this is helpful. If you live in a coastal region that's very humid, That could contribute to corrosion. If you keep your wave and your pocket while You work and you get real sweaty, that sweat could seep on to your multi tool Through your pocket. It might be a good idea to Cash in on that warranty. Especially if the factors that I mentioned do not apply to you.
Both are overpriced for it not being 100% made / assembled in USA. Neither one has smooth plier action nor spring loaded pliers for easier use. Both are heavy and bulky with not enough tools. Lots of Multitools out now that come close to Leatherman "quality" at 1/2 the price and even 1/3 the price. My favorite Leatherman is the Signal. I would like to see Leatherman be more innovative and space age. Lighter and stronger materials. Super steel blades like the ARC on all their models. Slimmer designs with MORE tools. Also modularity would be nice. Being able to switch out tools like some Roxons and Goat Tools can do has proven to be a huge factor.
I love my TTI, had it for nine years now and carry it every day

I have both, I like the ARC because of the one hand use. The tool deployment on the Free series is awesome. To me

The TTi would be perfect with a Manga blade.
The ARC is flimsy.
I like the Free technology and easy opening of tools on the Arc!
Same here. I gotta same my lunch money to buy the arc though 😂
Nice comparison. Well done! 👍

Staying with my Surge

The TTI has the better can opener and wire stripper
I agree. The wire stripper solution from the free p4 should made it to the tool instead of the micro driver

Its so unfortunate that you cant buy the Arc Obsidian in Germany, pisses me a bit off
Nope Leatherman charge wins everytime
The arc all day.

Do you want some cake with all that, too?
@@alauen yes please. LOL. After the Biden economy, I can use some extras for my money.
This comment makes sense !
I like the Arc but don’t think they are value for money so won’t be buying premium.
The charge tti brand new on ebay is going for about $100 right now
Torn!
