I spent 6 grand on a trading program where I was told a $100 profit a day on a small account was very doable. It was a classic technical analysis course for discretionary trading with trend lines backed up by elliott wave and fibonacci and so forth. I never got out of the SIM. lol The first rule of DOW Theory "The Market Discounts Everything" sort of sums up the confidance level I had after a year with them. I've watched a dozen of your videos and I get a lot out of every one. If I had seen this video and your reality based estimate of taking a small account and doubling it in 3 years and then again in 2 years... I would never had wasted the 6 G's on them. I could have afforded a lifetime subscription with one of the top algo generators with data plus had money left over to add to my trading account. Live and learn !! Thanks for all the great info Ali !! Regards,
Thanks for the comment, education cost money most of the time, so u didn’t waste it. Am sure you will get it back, keep ur eyes on the goal, and the right portfolio is around the corner
Hey Ali, amazing content as usual, thanks a lot. In this video you mentioned the starting capital $5000, i was wondering about the other videos when you show us the performance reports of the strategies, what is the initial Capital that you put for these strategies, thanks in advance
this video is about trading small account. In general you want to have at least the margin requirement for instrument you want to trade plus your drawdown tolerance. eg. S&P500 emini futures margin requirements is about $12k. for ETF/Stocks/Micro Futures/Forex it is a lot easier as the margin requirements are lower. All strategies I test are trading a fixed 1 contract, so it doesn't matter how much capital you start with it is the same P/L and DD, but the DD% will change.
Regarding Robbins world cup trading Championships, it may be easier to prove your argument by looking at the championship results from another angle. A few months ago, I found that the returns of the champions in the futures group each year were much higher than the returns of the champions in the forex or stock group. The only exception was this year. Ha ha.😄 And margin in Tradestation is definitely lower than IB. Thanks Ali, you always give us the right knowledge and continuous encouragement. I have a portfolio including 5 strategies on MES and 1 strategy on CL, now i started live trading verification on my dedicated server. Thanks very much.
Your advice is priceless for small account traders. If you please suggest a Futures Trading Course which will help to confidently start trading E- mini Futures.Thanks.
Thank you for your kind words, i do teach ATM, a course about algo trading, you can register ur name here Go.StatOasis.com/atm to be notified when next enrolment is open
Great question, real prop firm start u with 80% your capital and 20% their capital and they keep increasing their ratio as long as you are managing risk. They don’t follow these arbitrary rules by these new wave of “prop firms”. These are netflix businesses disguised as trading, their main goal is for you to keep paying monthly subs. Save your money by investing it
unfortunately I don't think so. think of it from their perspective, why would they spend the time, energy, money to watch you make or not. But most of them will take 2-3 years track record, even on small accounts. So just start and accumulate the records.
This is a great succinct discussion of the advantages of futures. I think you're a bit too cavalier with it, for a brand new trader with no experience. The problem with new traders especially with tiny accounts is *fear* and *greed*.
no slippage and commission, but the average trade is $153 with +78% win rate so for micro future strategy that is more than enough to cover everything. As for strategy/indicator codes, they are available in the discord server, but most mean reversion strategies will have the same profile on SP500
Crypto is just another data series, so all concepts still apply. The only difference is cryptos are volatile so you need to size down to keep DD manageable and commissions are high so average trade needs to be high.
Thanks Ali. You seem to read my mind and always post relevant things :)
My pleasure!

Love your videos!. I have a question. How would you go on about a prop firm? The max daily drawdown is ridiculously strict.

@@StatOasis is there any reputable prop firm that would be willing to give novice traders a chance to demonstrate their skills ?

well said!
What's your take between ETF and Micro Futures?
ETFs are just like stocks. Leveraged ETFs are good for intraday but if you are holding more than one day it’s better to use futures
@@StatOasis why is it better for intraday?
This is priceless
thank you, the big idea, is you should trade/invest even with small account size, and it will grow with you.
Hi there!
Can you share the strategy? And also - does it include slippage and commissions?
Thanks
E.

153$ on the micros or full size contract?
How can I join the server?
Micro futures. You can join through this link
go.statoasis.com/discord
@@StatOasis
Can you share the time frame? Seems like 30 point on average trade. Very nice !
Are you going to show us some interesting stuff about crypto? E.g how to trade profitable the crypto market? :)
Crypto is just another data series, so all concepts still apply. The only difference is cryptos are volatile so you need to size down to keep DD manageable and commissions are high so average trade needs to be high.
