    That shelf above the bed is CPAP awesome. Sweet rig, they sure make a beautiful home. The paint package is really nice I am sick of the swirly stuff. Who ever decide the new exterior should get a bonus it breaks up the length without looking like a shoe ad. Nice rig. Enjoy the harsh times with your baby she will soon be gone to college and you will wish she was there even if she is grumpy. Stay safe and healthy Josh.

    One of the best, just got a little better. LOVE LOVE LOVE the spice rack, the whole rear living setup and the stove being flush with the counter top.
    Not a huge fan of the bathroom sink but its not a deal breaker.
    Do not like at all the new bed slide that has ZERO end table space. Would have preferred a queen bed and a table.
    Love the solar addition, love the new design outside, LOVE the inverter prep
    Can not wait to check one out with the new AC system. but I have no doubt its better. I was looking at an Alliance Paradigm that has 3 x 13.5 AC's and 2 of them just direct dump. It was the fastest cooling and one of the quietest AC systems I have heard, or didn't hear.
    Was REALLY hoping the new model number system meant the were going to a 12v compressor fridge or a residential... maybe in a couple more years.
    Either way it's a 310RL alliance or a 3121 Montana to retire in a few years. If its a montana, it will be from Haylett.
    Thank You Josh, love your vids

    Josh, I totally agree with your previous stance on residential fridges in RVs. They are still difficult to work on, they have warranty problems and are a nightmare to replace. I believe that a 12 volt compressor fridge is pretty much equal to a residential fridge and far more versatile as it allows you the option to camp off grid for a few days without requiring shore power? Does your recent flip flop coincide with your manufacturers now choosing to use the cheaper option of a residential fridge in more of their models?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 роки тому

      Our feelings on resi fridges have been shaped on the service records we've seen over the past year to year and a half. The biggest thorn in our side was Samsung who seems to have been nudged out as groups like Whirlpool have come in
      I don't know about cheaper. My viewpoint hasnt been shaped by cost. It's been shaped by performance

    Don't need a CPAP shelf (anywhere). A shelf up high like that is only good for books - a phone shelf at the location it was in last years design is much better (at least I think so anyway). Will have to see how the A/C noise turns out... Josh - you should compare it to the others.
    The USB outlet in the chair doesn't bother me one way or another, as I won't be using it. I don't use Apple products that need to be constantly plugged in as my wife does. By the way, not everyone only wants to keep the house batteries topped up while in storage. Here in Texas, we had a week of no shore power this February with temps down to -20 and now we are in month 2 of 90+ degrees. We need much more than one small solar cell for those boondocking or emergency power 'weeks'. The top end power package for me please. Plus the Generator.

    You do the best job of showing all the equipment and there specs of any youtuber out there but... What I would like to know is what make or model of washer dryer will fit in these units? The curvature in the ceiling where the laundry prep is looks pretty restrictive. Just can't seem to find this information anywhere. Just ordered one of these units yesterday (I live in Alberta) and would like to get a suitable laundry pair on order as well as it does take some time to get these in as well.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 роки тому

      Usually splendide is the go-to on these but there can be a few options. It often varies by the space available in the RV and how big the unit can be while still getting it thru the door
      Years back we had an issue where Redwood prepped a bedroom for a stackable washer/dryer, but didn't make their bedroom door big enough to get it into the room. That was an adventure.. lol
      Thankfully that's SUPER rare now

      We always manage. it has a hookup for a gas grill but we tend to do cooking on the fire pit quite often. We'll set a cooler outside for drinks to cut down on foot traffic. Cooler stores easily in that giant pass-thru

      @brendanmurray6996 2 роки тому

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Unfortunately where we are we're not allowed open fires for 95% of the year so a gas bbq is all we can use. So an outside kitchen area is a must for us.

    In response to 23:15, We owned a '04 Keystone Cougar 293BHS and in 2010 we reached out to Keystone because of internal aluminum frame damage which could be seen inside the passthru storage compartment just behind the lower front cap. They would not speak to us because we bought it used in '07. They refused to help us figure out how to remedy/fix the issue.
    Later on in '16 we purchased a new Keystone Outback 324CG, and it had quite a bit wrong with it from the factory that wasn't discovered in PDI. Of course you expect a few things to correct on new units, but I've lost faith in the brand based on the apparent negligence.

    3:59 some put them on the outside edge of the cup holders; however wherever they are located it’s a waste to power the recliners through the inverter (as the recliner is plugged into a 110 wall outlet) 🔌 ⚡️ to then power a DC USB plug (unless you’re on shore power)‼️ 🤷🏽‍♂️ Plus they are notoriously under charged so you don’t get good regular charging much less fast charging❗️😞

    The one thing about Montana is they don't have a family model with a bunk room. Overall they are nice looking, but for those with kids or a family of 5, I had to ignore them. That and too heavy for a SRW 1 ton. Oh BTW, just an FYI, or side note, for those using through the floor water hookups, IE the water bay, stuff some brass wool in the opening when hooked up, or you might find a chipmunk in your storage bay! A few weeks back we were at a campground and as I sat there sipping my coffee I watched a chipmunk climb the hose and go inside a neighbors Montana.

    Thanks Josh. This is beautiful. How well would this do in a Michigan polar winter vortex? Or a Chicago summer ? What's the insulation stats? What's the exterior made of? Any risk of delamination? Is 400 watts solar the max you can go? Really like this RV. We will be going full time soon. I am stepping up my search for the right RV for us. If this had a rear kitchen I'd be perfectly happy.

      → Montana = SRW to Dually One-Tons depending on the model
