- To calculate percent ionization for a weak acid:
* Calculate the equilibrium concentration of either H+ or the acid's conjugate base (usually the same; use an ICE table).
* Divide that value by the ORIGINAL concentration of the acid.
* Multiply by 100 if you prefer to do that for percentages.
