Love these videos. It’s so cool to watch the progression of skills as you make mistakes or don’t know exactly how to do something but just dive in and find out. This is exactly how most of us mini truckers learned.
Thanks so much for the support! I learn something new on every project. Usually what I learn is how NOT to do something. 😂 I’m finding that you are absolutely correct, most mini truckers have to do it themselves. So we have to step out of the comfort zone to learn how! ✌🏻
You are inspiring, educational, and comical! Thank you for hours on edit and in the shop. Hang the beater bag on the wall, it's as important a memory as those licence plates. I'm lucky number seven if six already watched all the way through. Awesome hot rod even if it is lwb. Lol. Keep it rubber down, God speed.
@@jamesfcookjr awesome! Good luck with it. Hopefully my videos gave you a little insight. 👍🏻 The best advice I have on the topic is Don’t do it on UA-cam if you ever plan to get it finished! 😂😂😂😖
@@wrongwaygarage Yes your video gave me perspective on the process of the body drop luckily I have a 2 1/2 inch body drop to do the hard part is I’m doing it on 20s so I got to see if I got locked the lock rotation for Clarence one running low😊👍🏽
I learned from a friend who cuts the frame at the firewall and Rear of the cab Then You Use thick 2X4 steel and burn it back together. You keep The stock floor and avoid a ton of modifications.. I Do love the videos and the S-10 I learned from trial and error from Hydraulic installs to air bags.. keep on truckin brother Mini Truckin definitely a lifestyle
comment for 13:37, a copper heat sync may help you to stop blowing through, even if you do blow through the weld wont stick to the copper on the other side so you have a little time to fill it
Coming together nicely! The firewall looks good even if theres imperfections its so low hidden behind the engine no one will notice. Almost missed that outro lmfao 🤣 💀 Keep on truckin' ✌🏼
Cool Video Johnny, laughed when the wife said “stupid truck” haha I should have called mine the damn truck cause my wife is always saying you and that damn truck hahahaha…so cool the way it looks on the frame… maybe the intro should be changed to say minitruck instead of low rider truck… So is this the first time you build a Mini truck, or do all this work/modifications?
The #StupidTruck was originally called my midlife crisis. The plan was to do all the things to this truck that I couldn’t do in 1989 because I did not have tools or experience or financial ability or another vehicle to drive while I did it. My wife renamed the truck for the same reason you were talking about. The intro will eventually get changed because low riders and mini trucks are two different things in today’s world. Back in the 80s a mini truck was typically considered a low rider if it was dropped. Or at least it was in my area. This is not my first mini truck build, but it is definitely the most extensive work I’ve ever put in on any vehicle! Up until two years ago I did not even do my own maintenance on my vehicles. So my knowledge is very limited!
I always wonder what people are thinking when they want the body to touch the ground. If I ever decide to body drop anything, the frame will still be the lowest point
In the mini truck world cut pinch weld off and plate the bottom of the rocker with 1/4 plate and drag the hell out of it and replate and repeat when needed for optimum joy.
Love watching the progress of the truck, made me decide to cut my s10 apart hopefully starting on that after the first of the year. And where did you get the purple floor jack?
Glad you enjoy my videos!!! That floor jack is the aluminum racing jack from Harbor Freight. So far, it has held up better than any other jack I’ve owned. 👍🏻
I literally got the cheapest Cut 50 I could find on eBay. It does a good job for what it is when it is set properly. I’m just not very good at cutting straight lines!😂
I find the Eastwood stuff to work fantastic. It is still imported but there is some quality control involved. A lot of the cheaper, no name cutters will work but there is no one you can call if something goes wrong.
Fucking amazing sir !!!looks bad ass I can’t wait to start on mine .since I’m out from work cause of covid might as well start taking stuff out 😅 I’m bagged already so it should be fun ,first time bagging one so might as well be my first time body dropping 😬😬great videos !!!!
That's awesome! (the body drop part, not the out from work part) Hope my videos at least give a little insight into it. It was a LOT of work, but I think it was worth the effort... even if I only went 1.5"
@@davidcrum8538 thanks. ✌🏻 but to be fair, I did not know the difference between stock floor or traditional at the time… All I knew was what I was looking for and I had an idea of how I could accomplish that. 😂👍🏻
To be honest, I'm enjoying your videos 🔧

Thanks? 😂😂😂
A good sprayable polyester filler would cover most of those dimples on the panel.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into that.
I am a mixture of both, definitely a fan of making it right, but find I'm more inclined to work on it if I'm using and enjoying my truck.
I totally get that! 👍🏻
