I had a 524 that is now a 639 score. one month. One month. And still climbing. Please listen to this woman and stick to it. She is my credit Angel. Stick to her plan. It is the way credit world work's. Thank You Girl.
cool and congrats. definitely taking her advise. I have no credit and want to build credit fast. I opened a secured credit card and want my utilization to be excellent. I'm sticking between 0-9%..don't care what anyone says different.
renee p I just opened up a secured credit card I only put $250 on it so I should only spend a little less than $25 on it month to keep my utilization good?
Awesome video and great information. I would like to add that if you pay off your card 3 days before the due date and don't use it for 3 after the due date, they report it as 0% utilization. The 3rd day after the due date is usually when they report. So you can max out your card every month as long as you pay it off 3 days before due date and don't touch it for a week. Your credit score will continuously go up and you will be approved for higher limits faster.
yeah, but I thought 0% utilization is not good because it means that you're not using your credit card and not using your credit card at all doesn't improve your credit score. Am I right?
55 years old. why am I only learning this now? could have saved me , so much grief, so much heartache, so much money. I'm making all of my children watch this video. very well done. Thank you.
Girl! I’ve probably heard this a million times! But since you sound just like me and I knew you were Dominican heard that in another video. This has officially made sense! I will absolutely go divide pay 10 and continue my aggressive paying down on my CC debt. I love your videos and am officially/currently binge watching lol!
Great advice! But one thing you forgot to mention was that if you do need to make a pretty big purchase like you mentioned which will put you over the "0- 9%" you can still go ahead and make it as long as you pay it off right away or pay off enough to keep it below the 10% before the statement closes. Ex: $500 Credit limit. Buy item worth $400 puts you at 80% but then you pay $355 for it and let the statement close.. you'll b left with $45 bringing you down to 9%. Because the percentage that's reported is the amount in your statement. Then pay it off when you get it and rinse and repeat :D
Eljanny True. Thanks for pointing this out :) Although, If you have the cash to pay it right away I don't think you would need to charge it on a credit card, but I guess if you have a student loan check coming or a paycheck coming in a few days and you really need something in the meantime - then this is a good tip to fall back on.
+MissBeHelpful That's very true and that's where credit cards come in handy :D. Though i'd still go ahead and put certain transactions on my CC mainly for rewards that my CC has and many others do so too either cash back, points, traveling etc... (which you should make a video about :) ).
+MissBeHelpful so is Eljanny right about if you use more than 10% but then make large payment before bill statement, and then owe only 8% of your limit on bill statement, then that's what will be reported? Because this video makes its sound like if your at 80% of your limit ever, even for just one hour from paying for hotel ect your in trouble?
+wise man the banks do not report to credit bureaus every hour, they report once a month. So yes, Eljanny is correct and so is MissBeHelpfull. Some people just prefer to take advantage of those rewards that certain cc offer. Just remember that if you are going to hit the card with a high balance, pay it off to where you are at a 10% again before the bank reports to the credit bureaus. Hope this answers your question.
Thanks! good to hear i'm on the right track.7% or less on the first bill statement is best.heard 1% is perfect percentage.Of course paying your balance in full one day after first bill statement will stop someone from having to pay any interest.Rinse and repeat every month. And owing small amount on the first bill statement is best for your credit score. Not paying interest is best for your credit score.Owing nothing on any of your bill statement is bad for your credit score.
Thank you! I'm going to use this strategy and I'll be back in a month or so for an update! . UPDATE: Its been 3 months and my credit went from 700 to 732 by using this method!🙌🏾🙌🏾 I found it even better to stay at 9%, I will continue to use this method in the future! Thanks again ❤
I'm 18 and just got my first credit card with a $500 limit and this really helped me understand utilization. Thank you for the help! I'll keep my spending to $45.
Saw a few of your videos and I have to say the way you explain it really got through to me. Usually I can't listen to somebody talk for 10 seconds with out zoning off. Verry informative. Thank you
This was very informative and simple to get! I finally decided to FULLY understand how credit scores work so I can utilize certain benefits of having a credit card and you got straight to the point! No chalk boards with a bunch of scribble scrabble and confusion like some other videos I've seen lol. I have a better comprehension now and will watch more to learn. Keep doing these vids and thanks!
You explained this better than literally any video out there 😭 thank you sm I’ve been building credit from scratch in my 20s i really appreciate this advice. you just got a new sub!
🦋🦋I am sooooooo extremely grateful for you and your experience with credit!!! I messed up BIG Time and to learn the hard way because I wasn’t taught on financial literacy. I paid on time but my utilization was too high and it dropped my score by 49 points! I will NOT make that mistake again!!!!🦋🦋
I used more then 70 percentage of my my credit. The tick is how you paid it off! I was stupid at first but now its easy . Now i spend all i want on my credit, just gotta paid it all off the next day. Been doing this for a few months now and every time it shows my utilization at 0 every cycle. I went from 600 to 750 in two months on my credit scores. Wait, its now 780 since yesterday. Love it!
MissBeHelpfull. another thing you can tell people is. online baking apps now have the feature of "reoccurring bills" so you can set say $50 to automatically come out of your checking account on you your credit cards on a specific day, and you can cancel it anytime. Its super helpful for forgetful people like myself. I do this for my phone and credit card.
Thank you for laying the information out so clearly! I have only heard that my utilization should be under 30% and I'm 37 years old! 🤦🏽♀️ Found you through TFD. Can't wait to watch all your content!
I am in my 50s, and this is the first time I have EVER heard this VERY important information! I have dear friends that call me "Too Helpful", but you got me beat with this one MissBeHelpful! Awesome, just awesome! Thanks for putting it out there! I hope you believe in the blessings God has in store for you because of the way you are blessing others! If not, you'll miss out!
Nobody explain me like that. Awesome information to who need to increase credit score fast. Thank you so much. Happy to watch your new video. Thank you
+Jose Sanchez Wow that's amazing! Congratulations. My friend just texted me the other day to say that her score went up to 750 after watching my videos and I am so happy to hear stories like yours! Thanks so much for watching, subscribing and commenting!
I love you thank you so much you are very intelligent my little brother restores people credit for a living as a side job online and he said the same thing thank you so much
Great info on the percent of utilization! This is definitely gonna impact my financial decisions in the near future! You're just so darn helpful. lol :D
That's one way - but credit bureaus like to see something due on a bill and then you paying the bill on time. You don't want it to see like you have an inactive account.
Congrat your video is very well explanatory youuuuuuu are right to the POINT not like other videos that takes an HOURRRRR to explain something so simple
Wow. You should be in every single colleges and universities in the United States. You should do lectures and save those who foolishly bared themselves in student and credit card debt.
Good morning. I saw this video a couple years ago even before I was commenting on videos .... Lol !!!! But this video right here gave me a very powerful lesson on credit cards and how to use them. Because of this video, my credit has skyrocketed over these years and I just wanted to say thank you for this video and pray you continue to do great things !!!!!
That’s me right here! I’m 31 and I’m just learning about all this. My score was in the 300s 😨 when I was 18 I used the max out of all my cards. Glad that’s in the past
My credit limit is very high ($6,500) with a low interest rate (8.24%). I use it to charge my textbooks, and then I pay off my credit card bill in full with the money I've saved up for upcoming textbooks. You can negotiate with creditors for a higher cash limit and lower interest rate. If you have great credit, you can ask for a higher cash limit or a lower interest rate, and they'll pretty much always give it to you, especially if your credit card is with a credit union bank. And, if you're between the ages of 18-35, in college, and female, you are seen as a statistically error if you have phenomenal credit. Creditors will love you.
what i dont understand is how you don't have more subscribers! this video was extremely helpful. I'm nervous about applying for a card but I've watched a couple of your videos and I got a confidence boost. thank you so much!
+GoodGali I'm so happy to hear that! I'm working on a video now about what to consider before opening a new card - so that one will definitely apply to you right now LOL!
Nice video, very clear. I sent your video to some friends of mine to help them understand better. Also, not to be rude, but 10% is .10 in decimal. Therefore, $500 × .10 = $50 - $5 = $45. This can be used towards a tank of GAS every month and Paid In Full each month. Awesome video tho.
i just got approved for a secured credit card of 300$ with a fico of 480. So i did the math and that means i can only spend 25$ a month? im going to try this and only use it for gas and hopefully raise my fico score. Thank you for a really detail ed video:)
Ana Velasquez you can use your 300$ and max just pay it atleast 4 days before the due date and keep it at 0% utilization for 3 days after your due date in other words don't touch it. It will appear on your credit score as 0% even if you have maxed it all out
+awakeminds That will get you nowhere. Kids can pay cash you just break you piggy bank run to the corner store. I know people with 6 figure incomes (yes I am jealous but I am still in school myself) but they use credit cards. Credit cards simply because if you are going to pay 5k for a vacation to the Bahamas, use the credit card to earn 2% cash back. When you get home, after all the transactions clear, pay it off in full from your regular checking. Then you are the one getting paid to spend your own money. You use your debit card and you spend the same 5k and get nothing in return. I have a shit ass security job yet I have just under 7k in combined credit availability. I am responsible enough to use them for what I need until I get my degree. Then I can loosen up a bit. Paying cash is a sure way to keep you out of debt because you only spend what you have, but responsible credit card users spend only what they know they can afford. Like the video says, pay your bills, raise your credit.
Great video and I love the information. I put the 10% utilization into use, and in two months I got a raise of 42 points in my credit score thanks alot.
Hi Girl! Omg i just find you on UA-cam ... you are so helpful. i am thinking to make a balance transfer or a loan and you explain it so well :) eres increible..... i will send you an email to ask you a question :) kisses and love Karla
Thanks for being Informative! So does it hurt your credit if you pay what you spend before the statement closing day or is it better to wait to pay the full amount on the day of statement closing?
It doesn't hurt your credit to pay early but you want to at least leave a little balance there for the credit card issuer to report to the credit bureaus. Call your card company and find out when they report the balances to the bureaus for your card and then you can make sure to pay it down to 10% by that date and then pay the rest off before the due date. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@missbehelpfulhowl long is the due date from statement date … my statement date is the 24th of every month and they report to the Bureaus on the 27th so when is my due date miss … would I have to call for that
Great vid! I agree! Very informative, clear and concise information. You're definitely one of the major players in regards to anything credit related. Credit Utilization (which is 30%) is one of the 2 major categories (payment history which 35%) that make up a huge part of our credit score. I've experimented with different credit utilization percentage and that was probably the first time I noticed the biggest jump in my credit score. Thanks for always providing great content. Totally SUBSCRIBED now so that I don't miss any of your videos!
Yup! Good question. Same tips so that you show responsible use of credit available no matter what type of credit it is. Thanks for watching and commenting!
thank you so much for these videos on credit cards. i am going to be applying for my first credit card very soon, and i have been doing a lot of research to help educate myself on them. i have been watching a lot of your videos lately, and they have really helped me out! thank you
This is false. You do not and I repeat do not have to limit yourself to using a fraction of your credit limit per month as described in this video. You have a $500 limit and you're only going to charge $46 all month? Does that seem reasonable to you? Your utilization only needs to be at that small fraction on your limit on the close date of your card. That's right only ONE day per month dies your balance need to fall within the 0 to 29% range as described in this video. I use my card for everything all month. I make multiple payments to pay it down and off by my due date. I'm only limited to the small balance described in this video from the day after my due date to my close dates. For me that's the 22nd through the 26th of the month. My statement closes on the 27th. Whatever balance I have on this date is the balance that is reported to the credit bureaus. This and ONLY this ONE day. You can use ALL your credit ALL month long except during this period. This video is false.
+Faye Sikora So could you help me out to understand this? So I just recently got a capital one card and got a $300 limit, my due date for my payment is on the 27th of this month, so what you are saying is that I have to pay off a certain amount right before the 27th to get to the "excellent" range she was talking about so that way on the 27th it shows as I only used a small percentage? So then basically my utilization is reported to the agencies ONLY on the 27th in my case?
JoKeRR Ogie you want to pay your card off by or on your due date to avoid interest charges. You need to have ideally 10% but no more that 30% of you limit charged to your card on your cards closing date. Your balance is only reported on your closing date. So that means there are two dates you need to be aware of on your card. Your payment due date and the statement close date. Both are on your bill but you can call the issuer and ask if you don't see it. The day after your due date until your statement close date is the period during which you need to keep your balance between 10-30%. For example, my payment due date is the 21st. I make sure my balance is 0 on the 21st having made the number of payments I need to to pay it off so I don't get charged any interest. My statement close date is the 27th so between the 22nd and the 27th I don't charge more in that 10% of my limit. Then on the 28th through the next month I use as much of my limit as I need to and make the payments I need to get it paid off again by the 21st. I use my card to do everything then I use my cash to pay off my card. I maximizes my funds and earns me points I can use towards airfare and cash back.
You're welcome. I wish she had responded to my comment because people really believe they have to deprive themselves of using their credit because of videos and so called gurus like this one.
I appreciate you clarifying this because I wondered if what this video was teaching was correct. My due date for each of my cards are the 20th and the 23rd. I also make several payments throughout the month to ensure that by the due date, my cards have 0 balance. I don't know when the statement closings are but I will find out and use this method. Thanks again!
Great vid! Im an old person who has been working diligently on my score for about 4 years.I went from around 530 to 690. After my score passed 670 or so, I got offered credit cards-good ones! 0 interest for 18 months etc. I paid off my house and began to remodel...and promptly maxed them all out. :) 3months passed, and when I checked my score I was horrified to see it had dropped 111 points! I had no idea how much utilization mattered AND that there were levels. Thank you!
Yup - that's a great example of responsible seeming behavior that can yield poor results - That's why we have to know the credit factors! Great post - thanks for sharing!
I know all about utilization. Mine is excellent! But I have a hard time explaining this concept to my husband. I love this! Its super simple how you broke it down
I regret spending so much money on my credit cards. My score dropped so badly. Now that I don't have much money I can't open anymore credit lines because of my credit score. I need to switch my life around and fix what I messed up. Thank you so much for this informative video!
THANK YOU!!! This video has helped me to truly understand how the credit score is calculated. I'm about to start building credit and now I know that I can't go crazy with my credit card.
Credit is like a game but it’s not a game ! It will ruin your life if you don’t play your cards right! I appreciate you for educating us. Wish they would teach credit in school since it controls your life.
After watching your video a light bulb went off and I went out and got a credit card to go ahead and get my score handled One of my scores went up 35 and the other went up 25 in my first month of using my credit card. I really appreciate the great advice and information! Keep it up!!!
Thank you I want to say I have been using my card alot and I was new to my first credit card thank you I will not spend as much as my limit of my cards
❤️ I really like your advice I love the whole divide by 10 & spend phrase thank you so much you were simple & understanding, I don’t like to take risks so I would definitely use your advice & take a few extra dollars off to be on the safe side.
Wow thanks for explaining this I thought it was the opposite an my score went done 80 points in one month I was tryna use my card more thinking it would help my credit but I was dead wrong
Yep! I used to think it was the opposite, too! I wish they taught me this when I was in school and especially in college when I got a bunch of student cards!!
I had a 524 that is now a 639 score. one month. One month. And still climbing. Please listen to this woman and stick to it. She is my credit Angel. Stick to her plan. It is the way credit world work's. Thank You Girl.

how tf did u even manage to do that
Definitely the best utilization explanation I have viewed thus far. Your method of breakdown caused me to understand IMMEDIATELY! Thanks.
Awesome video and great information. I would like to add that if you pay off your card 3 days before the due date and don't use it for 3 after the due date, they report it as 0% utilization. Austin Harris great to know thanks
So what you're saying is pay off the amount owe 3 days before the due date and don't use it for the next 3 after the due date?
Austin Harris that's brilliant I didn't know that
yeah, but I thought 0% utilization is not good because it means that you're not using your credit card and not using your credit card at all doesn't improve your credit score. Am I right?

Pay in full before the closing date and you have nothing to worry about, utilization is out of the picture.
That's one way - but credit bureaus like to see something due on a bill and then you paying the bill on time. You don't want it to see like you have an inactive account.

Devide by ten then spend i like that saying
thanks so much. credit score was going up and down and could not figure out why
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
That’s me right here! I’m 31 and I’m just learning about all this. My score was in the 300s 😨 when I was 18 I used the max out of all my cards. Glad that’s in the past
Thank you. You have really helped me a lot. Keep up the good work.
+Tasnee Johnson No, thank you for watching! I'm really glad to hear this!
Tasnee Johnson does really work?
Tasnee Johnson your beautiful.
EVEVRYONE needs to take her advise
Opened up my first credit card a month ago
And my score went up 51 pts just following her instructions
Amazing!!! Thanks for sharing that!!
Go off, Jenn! You're on the right track girl!
Damn, how’d you get a rate that low?
what i dont understand is how you don't have more subscribers! this video was extremely helpful.
If you have to use more than the 30% make sure by the time your credit card company reports to the credit bureau the balance is under 10%.
i just got approved for a secured credit card of 300$ with a fico of 480. So i did the math and that means i can only spend 25$ a month? im going to try this and only use it for gas and hopefully raise my fico score. Thank you for a really detail ed video:)
Congrats! That's great! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ana Velasquez hows your credit now?
Ana Velasquez you can use your 300$ and max
just pay it atleast 4 days before the due date and keep it at 0% utilization for 3 days after your due date in other words don't touch it. It will appear on your credit score as 0% even if you have maxed it all out
@@NyCtHuGGa3 only if you know that you would pay for that item anyway if you had hand cash . General rule of thumb
That was awesome. You put it in the simplest terms that anyone should be able to understand. I'm on my way and thank you so much for this video!!!
+Dee Johnson Thanks for watching!
The is the best credit card lesson on youtube. By the way, you are very beautiful as well. Thanks for your help and have a great day
+Rocky Peter A Thanks for the compliments, Rocky!
You are welcome. I am sure people tell you how beautiful you are everyday. Keep up the great work. Beauty plus intelligence = goddess.
Cut the cards up and pay cash for everything.
+pinky1933 2% cash back is your argument? Look, I really don't care what plan you have, but I'm following Dave Ramsey's plan.
Great video and I love the information. I put the 10% utilization into use, and in two months I got a raise of 42 points in my credit score thanks alot.
Amazing! You're welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Girl! Omg i just find you on UA-cam ... you are so helpful. i am thinking to make a balance transfer or a loan and you explain it so well :) eres increible..... i will send you an email to ask you a question :) kisses and love Karla

Congrats u gained another sub!!!
THANK YOU!!! THAT WAS THE BEST EXPLANATION OF CREDIT I'VE HEARD IN A WHILE. AWESOME.
You're so welcome! Thanks for commenting!
Awesome! Thanks for the comment and the sub!
I recently got myself a secured credit card, should I use the same methods your teaching for my secured credit card? Thank in advance.
Yup! Good question. Same tips so that you show responsible use of credit available no matter what type of credit it is. Thanks for watching and commenting!
thank you so much for these videos on credit cards. i am going to be applying for my first credit card very soon, and i have been doing a lot of research to help educate myself on them. i have been watching a lot of your videos lately, and they have really helped me out! thank you
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Holy smokes! She’s beautiful.
About to get my first credit card. This is great!! Looks like it can also help me to be a responsible spender. Thanks! 😊
Nice! You're so welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow, ok I completely understand now. Thank you for the information!!
YOUNG LADY ! YOU DESERVE TO BE SHARED RIGHT AWAY ! KUDOS FOR YOU AND THANKS !

How rare, pretty face and brains
I know all about utilization. Mine is excellent! But I have a hard time explaining this concept to my husband. I love this! Its super simple how you broke it down
