Hello from Las Vegas! I’m a young family man and it’s a big dream of mine to own a small property one day and do something like this. I like your videos!
Moved to Arkansas 3 years ago, I fell in love with the Ozarks. I have no plans to ever leave. Stay safe, sending love and light. So glad I found your channel.
It’s a great feeling not having to worry about what time it is, what day of the week it is. Just do you & nothing to worry about! Much less stress that way. We find your channel very relaxing. We’re 71 years old & thankfully retired. Your adventures in Peru sound interesting. Thanks for sharing.
You're living my dream, no clock, no calendar, don't care... sounds like paradise to me! Keep up the good work! (And I agree, a shop is a good next goal.)
Reminds me of our move to AR in the 70s. We had 2 sable shepherds like yours (Have had several more over the years) built an A frame cabin with generator power because there was no electricity nearby. Had to haul water from a spring. We were much younger, stronger, and enthusiastic. In the ensuing years, we have adapted to an easier life, but we’re still here, dug in deep on another mountain near the original and still love it.
I had to watch this one again I just really enjoy seeing fog , and in this nursing facility , I just don't get anything like that anymore. I just miss weather and wildlife, like the birds singing of in the white invisible clouds on the mountain side is so beautiful... Anyway thanks again for your time and consideration when filming these it's really does mean a lot to me .. Peace and Love to you ✌💜❣️🙏
You seem to be enjoying yourself. It must be a great life. I'm trying to learn to live without money. My sister has some land, and I just try to disappear into the woods. It's great. It's really my first year of it. I hope you find what you are looking for. Peace
I was looking up scenes from the show Ozark and came across this-I love your setup and this was a great video. Also your dog is adorable gotta show love to the German shepherds....keep posting your videos this is super cool!
I moved from CA to AR and we are just getting used to the country life. Eventually when my kids grow up, I want to purchase some land in the Ozarks and live off grid, God willing. God bless you all!
Hahaaa! I’m born n raised in The Couve. It’s just not the same anymore. Too many people moving to the area. I’m considering buying raw land in The Ozarks, and then moving when I am able to live off grid & homestead. That would be a dream come true! ✨🤩✨
16:51 Hello! This is nice to see! I have property in NC ,AR and am about to move there, too! I, in my heart, know it is my blessing as well. Also, I've spent time in Peru, also with indigenous people in both the Andes and the Jungle. I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience with your camera and stuff. I absolutely loved being there and was fortunate enough not to have run into any situations, which I heard, unfortunately, can occur, often. Anyways, your property looks a whole lot like mine, fog, drop-off, and all. Hopefully when the fog lifts, you have a freakin' FABULOUS mountain view too!! Well, I just wanted to say hello and I enjoyed your video and look forward to seeing more. Blessings
I feel the same way about my place here, even though I am alone most of the time. I also agree with the videos, it also keeps me motivated to get on the work
What part of the states you live in and where is a good place to look for land? I just moved to Missouri and I'm currently living in a sprinter van using solar energy and propane for heat.
Before you start your shop build. Plan for additional space for future projects. A 12’x20’ shop. Consider 6 foot will be taken up if you put benches down both side. Leaving you just 6’ of space for working. That does not leave you much room to walk around a 4x8 sheet of plywood. A 12’x20 could work if you put work benches and tools at 1 end and open work space for larger projects on the other end. Just food for thought. Good bless. Enjoy your videos
Your view is awesome. Your land clearing is going well and I admire your rock fence. We live south of Huntsville AR area. I know how much work it is to do what your doing.
I'm from Massachusetts. Hopefully, next year I plan on doing the same thing you are doing. I'm kinda heading in the direction of East Tenn. I enjoy your videos and I will be doing it alone also. For your Harbor Freight Canopy, If it didn't rip, try building a wood frame for it. It will make it stronger and you may get a longer use out of it. Looks like the 2 of you are very content and enjoying your place. No need to leave if you don't feel like it. By the way today is Thursday, August 13, LOL.
Welcome! This is a great way to live if you ask me! You won’t regret it. TN is beautiful. The HF thing’s frame bent and was completely destroyed. Some storm we had!
I used to deliver the roller bearings for the giant roasters at Folgers coffee in Kansas City, MO. In downtown KC on the north side. I loved to go there and smell the beans roasting, Oh, man what an awesome smell, Mmm !! Awesome smell !! Hot 🔥 fire roasting beans ahhh!!! Anyway that's a really great looking morning, I like foggy cool mornings on the lake , it's really nice thing to wake up too. And Yes , your videos are looking good Abram, you do a great job at it. Oh, man stolen back pack and no Passport , Canada all over again in my mind , oh yukk!!! I was also a professional photographer by trade, I owned the After6ix newspaper and entertainment guide in Green Bay Wisconsin, well my wife and I did. Very cool job, career I love it, been doing it since high school long ago....😂
We have lived in the middle of 50 acres of woods for the past 15 years and love it.. We drink Folgers and don't care what other snobs drink. Life is to be experienced. When you die, you have only two things to be said about you He was a good man and his word was gold! Other than that. nothing else matters. Live by yourself if you want, but seek others if you need to talk. Solitude is good, lonely is bad. We love your dog. Dave T.
When the world is ending....this is how you wanna live:) Actually....this is how I’d wanna live throughout the rest of my life. Big city life is a drag. No peace. Too fast paced. The sky’s are cluttered with man made skyscrapers stealing the beauty away from the heavens. I’m going to Missouri in July. I’ll be passing through the Ozarks on my way.
Love your video. Been a while since I ran across you. I drink nothing but Folgers coffee! Nice beard. Do you trim it yourself or have it done professionally? I wish you all of God's blessings. I am from upstate SC.
No restrictions pretty much means that. It is rare to find raw hand that has nothing. The majority of land already had a house at one time, even a homestead. There is usually power around and lots of times an old well. I live on a trailer on wheels!
You were worried about the content of the vids you are making, worried about rambling. Not the case, one guy in Canada I follow has TWO channels. One is for the construction of his homestead, the other is for his philosophies and personal thoughts. ALL is interesting!! I enjoy your videos!!
I currently live on 18 acres north of Houston and I work in an office that is on the south side of Houston (75 mile commute). Even with this distance, the property taxes are just about killing me. My dream is to hold on 'til retirement, then move to N. Arkansas. Better weather, better property taxes, better views! Anything up high will make me happy. After dealing with 40+ years of mud from various flooding, then finally the ultimate house flood with Harvey, I was so happy to move 60 miles north and settle on a hill. A Prius made my commute workable. The rising property taxes are close to making me move yet again! Damn greedy politicians.
I wish I could do this. I live in SW Missouri and while I'm close to that scenery, it's not the same as living in it. Wish the best. Edit: just found out you passed away. RIP
I do not! I’ve heard that rural listings are as low as they’ve ever been and buyers are buying all sorts of land. A couple plots of land have sold around here. People wanting to get out of the big cities. My advice is to drive around, find the more specific area you like and start talking to normal people in the area.
