Idris Elba is quite legit with music - he had a song in the recent Cyberpunk 2077 expansion (where he also stars), and a few days ago a track with Skepta. Also he's been a proper club DJ for years, I think they still invite him to records sets every now and then.
The song Finn played is literally the worst thing I've heard ever. And I routinely listen to Grindcore 😊

Keanu Reeves is such a genuinely nice guy he doesn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Unlike the other hover hand guys that genuinely have no confidence and are fake nice. He's in a different league than your average hover hand guy. You never heard him brought up when me too was a thing.

Brie Larson did all of her own singing in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and I thought her cover of Black Sheep by Metric (which she performed for the movie) was excellent. I even liked her performance better than the original.

I wouldn't say Dogstar is "not good", but they're a definitive example of "mid". If someone were to put on that song I don't think I'd be unhappy about it, but I'd also wouldn't mind if someone skipped it

During lockdown, brie larson did an acoustic rendition of black sheep from scott pilgrim (her followers begged her to do it) and it was the cutest thing ever and kinda made me crush on her hard. She's very talented and i listen to her version of the song every now and again

Keanu Reeves and Johnny Depp really wanted to have a music career but it just didn’t happen for them.
Dogstar is a bad name though, the band name screams that 80’s and 90’s cliché of a band formed by College kids and one of the band members is dating a girl who’s only with them because “they are going to be famous”, and the guy keeps telling his girl “so babe, I’m this band and we are totally going to be huge and we are nearing a record deal”. And it never comes.
How I Met Your Mother parodies that cliche in an episode.

The problem with Keanu's amp isn't that it's a combo because it's a Matchless. The problem is that he's a bassist using a combo amp. Bassist with a combo in front of people is embarrassing. It's also hilariously small compared to the guitarist's half stack.

Here’s the thing, when Keanu plays bass in a band, as mediocre as the rock comes across, you can still sense his intent is honest. When Johnny Depp tries rocking he comes off like a bad imitation of Dave Navarro and his cologne commercial of him in the desert making feedback makes me laugh then immediately vomit.

One of the best things about local music is being able to see real people having a crack at expressing themselves and doing something which is really fun and everyone should try to do, making music. Ripping on people because their music doesn't fit your tastes and saying that it "not good" like you're the arbiter of what is good is lame even if they are famous.

what pissed me off about Wrinkle of Time was the races in the book had a specific point, relating to ancestry, which comes up in later books. They not only ruined any further sequels by changing that, but also by taking out the 2 other brothers. Ruined the entire plotline setup all to be more woke and end up ruining it.

I will say this about Brie, when she did that Clash at the Demonhead track for Scott Pilgrim vs the World it was pretty solid. It's one track done for a movie with a band that I swear wasn't hers, but she did it and it was good. I also love how in the movie Scott's band is supposed to be bad but all their songs are bangers.
