Today is my birthday...I am now officially 19-years-old...on top of that, this is the car I have always wanted since my Freshman year of high school...and this is the ultimate birthday gift right here!!! Thank you, Kyle for making my birthday wishes come true! Keep up the good work, bud!!!
@@jjh9507 they are, my cousin's friend bought a 2019 ford mustang gt 5.0, and it sound nice, it drives fast and when u press your foot in the gas, it goes, no wonder mustangs crash
This design looks so much better than the new 2015 models. This design looks so nice, mean and modern. The new design I feel will not age well. But this design will age nicely.,just my 2 cents.
+Acuravigor47 I used to say that too, until I saw one in person at the beginning of the year, and saw one cruising down the highway a few days ago. The design of the 2015 R/T Scat Packs and above models are beautiful. Underneath those models, I am not a fan.
I owned the exact same car in this video, a black/black 2012 SRT8. I loved the back end but wasn't really a fan of the Dodge Ram front end. I always though the best would be this back end, with the 2015 front end added, but I've grown to like the new back end too. The 2015 car had all 4 corners pulled in to make the car appear a little smaller. It works.
I haven't been watching your videos long, but I love cars. Yours is the only channel on youtube, or anywhere for that matter that I can see just about any car in depth and reviewed with style and best of all consistency throughout all the videos no matter the car. Please don't stop making these!
ZF is looking at different gear boxes for Dodge's upper level uses. The 8 is here for the powerful pentastar(which is not direct injection yet but look out Hemi owners when it is). There is talk on using either the 7 or the 8 and bumping up the 9 on the Dart for 2013. We'll see. Dodge did it to 11' owners and put the 8 sp in the exact same SXT(Rallye) version cars. What's nice, is the 3.6L pentastar(87or E85), running 12 million miles on CAD design stress testing, first in the USA, ever.
Love this car. When we were buying the 300c. I asked the sales if they'd let me give the srt8 a go. No words can describe the total package of this car. The only flaw that I found on these was the transmission. It didn't feel like it was up to par with the engine and needed better tunning.
man i thought i knew alot about cars, but untill i started watching you car review vids..i feel like my brain is overloaded with car facts on diff makes and models now lol. Thanks kyle for the awesome reviews!
WOW first this is the most detailed review i have ever seen second dodge really took this seriously look at the car the dispaly and the balance of power/torques 470/470
I currently drive a 2012 Challenger 392 Edition, 1 of 200 in Sublime Green. It does not have the same system as the charger or the same interior. Same seats and steering wheel, but that's about it. But let me tell you, its a monster. Replacing it with a red Charger SRT8 in a few months. I highly recommend either one, having driven both, you won't notice a difference in driving dynamics much. But the interior is not the same quality as this. It does have the cup holders though :D
The timeless style and design plus, the more meaner and meatier Hemi V8 convinced me that I should look into this trim level or the R/T Max as my future car
I hear you. But I think we should make an exception for this four door. Look at that roofline. Now that's a good-looking two door coupe roofline if I ever saw one! So how does it hurt to have rear doors? Think of it as a maxi-cab instead of a king cab. Just one man's opinion.
I have a question. Maybe in the future I will buy Challenger 2012 SRT8. Does it have all of these futures from this video since it's not a Charger, but Challenger? And I'm talking about this little computer inside. Does it have all of these gadgets like SRT8 Performence, G-forces, setting radio volume for certain area etc? And does it have those inside gadgets like these drink holder that can worm up drink or cold it down? Thank you.
The 2006-2010 Charger wasn't even called a Charger until well after the car was finished. It was originally going to be called Dodge Interceptor. Hence the actual Charger design cues added in the 2011 and 2015 refreshes.
And at least you can see out the windows on the current Charger which has more glass area and less blindspots, unlike the previous car which you couldn't and had MAJOR blindspots. Also, headroom is better here than the last Charger.
Kyle is selling his Roadmaster for the RT version of this car, he shared this on Facebook. I bet this video had something to do with that decision. The Roadmaster is for sale for $7500 at his dad's dealership.
Wow, HUGE difference from the camaro and the mustang. Dashboard is much easier to read, a helluva lot more space inside, less blind spots, sounds cooler, and better mileage.
One thing about the Taurus I don't like is the visibility is pretty poor as far as the rear end goes. Also, with it being twin turbo charged, you do have that slight turbo lag as opposed to the HEMI V8 in the Charger where you would have all of the power right there. The Charger is also a bit lighter than the Taurus and is roomier on the inside. As much as I love the SHO, I'd pick the Charger out of the 2. But I suggest driving both and seeing which you like best. Both are great value for money.
Yes, the new SRT8 model starts at around $47,000 and is a little over $50,000 for a more well equiped model. SRT8 model Charger is their most expensive lineup. Hope this helps!
Starting at 15:20: I would absolutely LOVE to have this software for my vehicle. I'm sure all of that information is already wired in (except maybe G-Force sensors) it just requires a hack here and there to make it work. How does the software flash work for these cars anyways? Do dealerships have it all and just select the model when uploading it or is it all factory hardcoded? I've got a 2012 SXT.
Just because you don't like driving a manual as much as everyone else doesn't mean you have to take away one of the fun, last connections between the driver and vehicle.
Since this car came out the Challenger SRT8 has all but pretty much stopped selling. They need to re-do the Challenger and make it more competitive with the Mustang (size, weight, power and price).
I love your videos, and how you really explain and give all the details and whatnot. But why don't you ever tell us how many MPG the car gets? Thankf for the Vids!
I never understood why some Chargers had the ignition chime that this one had, the typical Dodge one that you hear in most of their vehicles today, during accessory mode, and a secondary one when the vehicle was turned on. My Dad's 2012 Charger had that, and the newer 2014 one he has now has the same ignition chime for both modes.
I can tell that you put that little extra effort on your reviews for new american vehicles. Which is cool because your obviously a big fan of american automobiles.
Which is why once my 07 Mustang GT is paid off, I'm selling it and get a car from the muscle car 60-70s era, so my car is actually made of metal, and I can ACTUALLY work on it without dealing with electronics and plastic...
This is one amazing and sexy looking car.. I was surprised when I heard what the price was, which makes it an even better car! And no, not only Americans love this car. I'm from Sweden and this is one of my favorite cars (next to the Mustang)..
@TheWolverineMachine Do you mean the HEMI tick? It's rod and rocker arm mostly, but the valves "clack" as well. It's called the HEMI Tick, but we know know it as the Monster's hearbeat.
Hey Kyle, I have a question, does this have adaptive cruise control? because i didn't see the module looking thing for it in the front and it said on the DIC "Brake Distance cancelled" or what does that mean?
Nice to see that American car companies are actually trying to step up their game with their cars. Do I like the car, kind of. I think the interior should be a bit reworked. If some of the bits were fitted better, the weird (IMO) air vent curves would go, 2004ish looking screen shape was reworked, the 5 speed automatic was changed to a 6, 7, or 8 speed, then maybe I'd like the car more. That was a lot to say, but that's my honest opinion on this car.
I get M3 and M5 owners checking me out at the lights usually. The Beemers all look alike, I'm glad to get away from the look, even though they perform very well. The M3 can't compete to the car's track capability, but the Charger is on the M5's tail. Plus even though there is way more room in the Charger, I feel like I'm in a 2,800 lb car and not a 4,300. Although are 69 is only 300 lbs shy of the 12', the 12' is crazy safe and can stop and turn, lol.
I like this generation of the Charger, especially if it's red on the outside. I've seen some of these at classic car shows, as well as new-model auto shows.

The price is so much cheaper than the new higher performance chargers. You get all the features the new ones get under 20k.

Definitely go for the Charger. You'll get virtually the same level of performance and quality but with all the convenience of a full-size sedan.

Glad to see such a good sound system. I find that to be a major factor in my view of a car.

Lines are beautiful and agressive, not to mention the N/A V8
It’s practically the same body style of 2011 to 2023 nothing changed about it besides the headlights and tail lights

What a Great review. Perfect
How responsive are the paddle shifters? bc I've driven a few that have like a slight lag to when the gears change. and does it come in a MT?
