I have always regarded Nitin Gadkari highly because he seems like a person and office trying to better our society. If he doesnt get it right today, thats okay. Because a step in recognising the problem, looking for solutions and trying to implement them, will be a step in right direction. And its a high time we switched for solutions rather than just crossing our hands and waiting for problems to resolve themselves. This one from Gadakariji was a hit and miss but we have started a discussion and that'll eventually lead to safer roads for everyone tomorrow. Living in India, Ive recognised one thing, you have to be patient and optimistic. And so far, in few problems that Ive watched our country tackle on the past decade, like climate change for example, I have not been extremely disappointed, only slightly disappointed. And for an optimistic person like me, thats a good thing in a country where so much as discussions about carbon emissions, renewable energy were an unknown thing just few decades ago.
Agree with your logic but atleast its a most cost effective step towards safety compulsions to be adhered by the manufacturer. If Mr Gadkari were to make the car body more safer as mandatory, it could have resulted in the car getting still more costlier. All these global standards will slowly and surely come into Indian cars too. Trust Mr Gadkari's wisdom.
Excellent video. Active safety is more important than passive safety, therefore, government should make strict norms and disallow sale of unsafe Cars altogether. Government should also question Car companies as to why they are selling safe Car in Europe and unsafe Cars in India. If government don't take such action then it will show that it has joined hands with the Car manufacturers.
Build quality should be preferred more important than 6-9 airbags. If you travel to hill region, for instance, you'll be worried about rock falling and vehicle rolling down the road. I believe building quality would help more.
Amazing content, I always share these videos to my friends & relatives. Glad that finally Indian government is taking some initiative for safety. These manufacturers were taking people for ride for so many years.
I appreciate Gadkari sir's efforts, but in my opinion accidents can be reduced drastically if the govt starts implementing road safety rules more strictly. They need to think smtg else beyond just putting fines
When ever government takes a steps people start getting all the analysis. Please note we are a country where safety was considered as luxury and all the safety features were only provided in top variants. Nitin ji has done something which most of the politicians failed. He cares for everyone safety and 6 airbags will help at side impact it will save lives. Agreed price will increase but the value of life and actual value of money paid is only know when we meet with an accident
The purpose of six airbags was never safety, but it was to reduce costs. When you mass manufacture airbags and deploy in all vehicles it will cost less than using just driver side or passenger side airbags.
What about read end collisions in MUVs ? If you see the last row of seating in an MUV like Toyota crysta or Maruti Ertiga don’t have any protection apart from the seatbelt. These cars have virtually no protection for the last seat row . The front row has some amount of protection due to airbags and the engine which also takes up some of the force
😭 So true. People driving on high beam with LED headlights. It is so painful to drive. I suggest a timer like in indicators so high beam turns off after 10-20 seconds.
True... Use of UHSS should be forced in the body shell... By law... We are already paying ~50% tax which should be reduced for this to be implemented....
Government should incentivise those car companies offering cars with minimum score of 4 star in crash test rating by reducing tax and also government should emphasize in making a crash test facility in India with Euro ncap standard and making mandatory for ensuring every car brands and each of their models go for testing before they hit the market.
As you said to install 6 air bags, structural changes will be required. I appreciate Nitin ji for taking the initiative and taking decisions which others failed
"Why is TATA motors not making 4×4, RWD, AWD cars?" Iss topic pe ek video banao plz 🙏. Jbki pehle unki Safari Storme aur Dicor 4×4 thi, Hexa 4×4 thi, Sierra sumo jaisi cars bhi thi
Unless structural standards are improved it really wouldn't matter how many airbags are there. Making 6 airbags mandatory is simply going to increase the cars cost without much safety benefit. I don't really understand on what basis he said that airbags only cost 800rs. And GNAP is a hypocritical scam. India really needs it's own independent crash test.
he said each airbag costs only 800 rupee.. so lets consider installation overhead to be 700 for each, making total 4 and installing them will make it 6000, add the tax on this (30%) making it well over 7500
@@SoulShadow69 It's not just ₹800, there's also the cost of R&D and the structural changes required to fit the additional airbags which the customer will end up paying. And airbags in reality costs ₹5-₹10000 to replace.
Skoda and VW are yet to prove their safety for their India specific vehicles. There is a reason why Kushaq and Slavia won't be sold outside of India. You cannot just assume them to be safe just because of VW Polo scoring 4 stars at GNCAP.
Yep. Also government should just decrease the taxes, companies selling cars are making peanuts and government taking lakhs on each car in terms on net profit.
European cars sold in India are relatively Inferior Built in India.I have VW Tiguan and Renault Fluence here in Germany And after my uncle's Tiguan in India i was completely upset.Leave about performance but behaviour of vechicle was not up to Mark. Most importatanly price is almost same.
@@panditbhudev21 Yep, that's because of huge taxes in India on vehicles. Octavia cost just 18-20 lakhs to make but taxes make it 32 lakhs vechile. Imagine for same price could have got better cars even if taxes were halved in India. Margin is just too low for manufacturers.
Transport Minister can only speak abt safety, ground reality can only be improved by making the driver training and certification stringent and strongly enforcing traffic rules.
True that airbags was able to save only head impact. Airbags can improve but at a cost. But as per your comment by using good structure it will increase the cost more then the cost involved in airbags. I am not sure these foreign companies will give a competitive and affordable vehicles
It would be easier and more economical to put higher strength steel in the same moulds that are already designed to manufacture car than to redesign almost every single car in India for 6 airbags.
SRS on airbag cover itself says everything....In my' science'😜 for a vehicle ●100-0 should be more important than 0-100,ie good breaks, esp, abs, ebd etc and need rule for not using 'decade old-shinning-plain tyres'.....this can make a car 20% safe.(the moments just before accident are crucial, you may get time to control your car or reduce speed or impact) ●Next 40% is for structural rigidity(ref:latest launched mpv with 6 airbag vs some other cars/..ns with 2) ●20% for seatbelt,20% for airbag. So this rule only for 6 🗯 wont make sense. However 'cars' will become dream for the 'majority' of this country, agree we are not hearing voice of majority.....Even now majority of bikes are on loans....As maruthi chairman said we are providing 'a vehicle' with roof..but we dont need that quadricycles but need techy, perfomance Tanks(but, have no money in hands).....ah,however bikes with airbags(one company even patented it)will be safer for indian normal families..

I think government of India should mandatory to perform every car ncap for india and they should specify their performance on their website or app for every car
Only indian brands are excellent and upto the Mark. Baki brands india k logo ko faltu samjhde hai. Apne last m jo baat khi vahi sahi hai. Majbut structure
(This is a very doubtful and sort of quite wrong feeling thought) So, the 6 airbags thing actually might be to promote our Indian brands cuz, these other brands aren't gonna improve their safety much, so obviously the public will shift faster to the indian ones
Well said bro .... Gadkari Ji, please note this and make this mandatory on all cars including base models. Two air bags is sufficient for base models but body structure built quality is more important and should be punished if not followed strictly. Especially, Hyundai n Kia have pathetic built quality in India. They give lot of Features to attract customers but safety negligence. Maruti Suzuki have started working on their new upcoming models recently.
India mein manufacturing cost aur tax session donon high hai also petrol price companies ko gadi ka price aur mileage donon acche rakhne padte Hain iske liye companies India ke liye special perform banati hai
The problem is they wouldn't mind selling high quality cars but they would have to price those cars higher that are already expensive. The government squeezes too much money from import and other taxes
More than the vehicle itself, it is the casual approach towards road rules all over India that is claiming lives. It will not suffice to increase fines for traffic violations but to find more ways to enforce such fines. I am a radiologist and was working for a trauma hospital in Guwahati. A couple of years back the Government had enforced the law of wearing helmets for both the rider and pillion rider in Assam. During that period the number of polytrauma and head injury scans went down to less than half of what it was before that. With the fines being now less enforced, number of cases have gone up again. If driving in the wrong side of the road , overspeeding , drunk driving , overloading of vehicles etc are fined regularly, there may be no need for structural reinforcement or 6 airbags in cars. My two bit take on this 🙏🏽
Airbags or helmet or rigid structure can reduce risk of serious injury however it will not reduce number of accident. Implementation of motor vehicle rules strictly can reduce number of accidents to great extent.
Main cause of so many accident in Indian roads because government give out driving licences without test whether they know how to drive or have knowledge about rules to follow.
INDIAN CUSTOMERS PAY LESS FOR MORE FEATURES. THIS IS ALSO A BIG REASON. PEOPLE WANT SUNROOF AND NOT PAY ENOUGH MONEY SO MANUFACTURERS CUT IN SAFETY DEPARTMENT BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL STILL BUY IT.
Yeh saari baat boli but sabse simple point pe baat nhi karri. Har gaadi jiske 2 aur 6 airbag walle models aate h unka impact dekhna tha naa kittna h safety pe.
You have missed to compare the cost of airbag vs cost of strong structure. When a company is not ready to put a cheap airbag why is it not investing in strong structure
to fix all the problems in the indian car the government has to reduce the high taxes on the automobile industry this will not only reduce the cost of the entry level cars by a lot but also after seeing the profits earned by the companies, they will add better structure and safety features at least this is what i believe
The main. Reason is price in europe suzuki swift costs 20k euros starting and automatic variant with laoded features can coat upto 30k Compare that to India.
A good intention that might end up with bad result. 6 airbags will make the price of base-level cars to jump and the people hoping to shift from two-wheelers to car - a much safer options, will not be able to afford cars.

I think making cars with good quality materials is comparatively more expensive as compared to integrating 6 airframes, even in basic economy cars, that's why Gadkariji took such a decision.
@ 9:15 Aah about Honda, their city 4th Gen, even though it got 4 stars, was still rated as unstable but Jazz wasn't in global Ncap 😮🤔. And Maruti's Brezza and Toyota's Urban Cruiser also have different score and dummy pattern also better on Urban cruiser, clearly lot of manufacturers skimp on adding HSS along with strategically placed crumple zones too, to save costs! There has to be a proper bill drafted for vehicle structure stability, ESP should become compulsory too!
The Brezza and Urban Cruiser case was because of Model year Differenciation. Brezza was tested years ago when some features weren't made standard that time. Or else both of the have the exact same bodyshell
@@25StevyLovesDaddyTata The dummy pattern has more red on brezza, you can verify this by comparing full gncap (cars for India) reports on their website. Year and features difference has nothing to do with the structure performing differently under same test conditions!
@@aashishdevgun How are you associating protection levels with Structural performance? Read my comment again, both of them have the exact same structures. Both performed a stable body shell. Brezza offers standard SBR only for driver while Urban cruiser for both Passenger and Driver. Another car which is currently a segment leader and has scored 5🌟 in GNCAP, not without an unstable structure though is Hyundai's new gen Verna. On the other hand, VW/Skoda's Virtus and Slavia both achieved 5🌟 with a stable structure but still people are running behind Verna for that extra 10 bhp of power which they'll probably never require and unnecessary tech.

You are amazing bro, talking sense and truth, most other channels are junk now. Keep your good work on👍
Excellent video.
😂😂😂😂 Even tata cant survive those falling rocks bro
Amazing content, I always share these videos to my friends & relatives. Glad that finally Indian government is taking some initiative for safety. These manufacturers were taking people for ride for so many years.
I appreciate Gadkari sir's efforts, but in my opinion accidents can be reduced drastically if the govt starts implementing road safety rules more strictly. They need to think smtg else beyond just putting fines
Completely agree with you ... this is what is called constructive criticism 😃
Best would be:
1. Seat belt mandatory for all passengers and traffic rule to strictly enforce it.
2. Strong body shell
3. 4 Air bags
Also to ban all the powerful LED lamps causing huge distress at night time driving. This to be taken seriously by Nitin Gadkari.
😭 So true. People driving on high beam with LED headlights. It is so painful to drive. I suggest a timer like in indicators so high beam turns off after 10-20 seconds.
5 ⭐️ Rating should be mandatory in India instead of 6 airbags
India really needs it's own independent crash test.
he said each airbag costs only 800 rupee..
so lets consider installation overhead to be 700 for each, making total 4 and installing them will make it 6000, add the tax on this (30%) making it well over 7500
this is basic stat manipulation to make it sound cheap
@@SoulShadow69 It's not just ₹800, there's also the cost of R&D and the structural changes required to fit the additional airbags which the customer will end up paying. And airbags in reality costs ₹5-₹10000 to replace.
Skoda and VW are yet to prove their safety for their India specific vehicles. There is a reason why Kushaq and Slavia won't be sold outside of India. You cannot just assume them to be safe just because of VW Polo scoring 4 stars at GNCAP.
They are sold with different names
@@sudiptobhattacharjee4141 no they're not
I am not sure these foreign companies will give a competitive and affordable vehicles
bro, u doing a great work man! Proud of u✨
Great decision by the government of India 🇮🇳
It would be easier and more economical to put higher strength steel in the same moulds that are already designed to manufacture car than to redesign almost every single car in India for 6 airbags.
Did anyone notice in the video that this UA-camr has an unsafe car😅
I'm worried about your safety, bro. India needs people like you.
I can't be happier to see Honda didn't dilute their build quality in India. It justifies my purchase of Jazz even in the year 2022
its pretty sad how the govt doesn't understand safety as much as a random guy on the internet. very good video 👍
SRS on airbag cover itself says everything....In my' science'😜 for a vehicle ●100-0 should be more important than 0-100,ie good breaks, esp, abs, ebd etc and need rule for not using 'decade old-shinning-plain tyres'.....this can make a car 20% safe.(the moments just before accident are crucial, you may get time to control your car or reduce speed or impact)
●Next 40% is for structural rigidity(ref:latest launched mpv with 6 airbag vs some other cars/..ns with 2)
●20% for seatbelt,20% for airbag.
Vehicle structural strength is more important than 6 airbags.
Yes
The most perfect solution will be reducing exorbitant taxes. reducing taxes will increase margin for manufacturers and they might improve quality.
True
100% true. Manufacturer are running on low margins. Companies like Toyota, Tata making 80,000 net profit on a car which is sold over 30 lakhs is a shame and not a profitable business.
Atleast they didn't say "flying carpets" , "sun revolves around the earth" , "Marry underage children" or "earth is flat" like in 🅱️ooran
Lol, cheapest hatchback small cars in foreign countries start from 25 lakhs on road
@@KattarRSSHindu 55 lakh me to landcruiser aa jati hai dubai me kis duniya me ho tum 30 lakh for X1 aur abhi to inr ki value all time low pr hai tb bhi is rate me milti hai
I see this as a small necessary step in creating public awareness about car safety.
Yes other features such as crumple zones will come in the future.
No need to critique it just yet.
the biggest problem is the use of uhss govt need to work on that
India k Kharab roads sabse badi wajah kaafi accidents k liye 😢
I think government of India should mandatory to perform every car ncap for india and they should specify their performance on their website or app for every car
Finally someone talked some sensible things on this matter
Only indian brands are excellent and upto the Mark.
Baki brands india k logo ko faltu samjhde hai.
Apne last m jo baat khi vahi sahi hai. Majbut structure
I agree with your point i too emphasize better build quality while considering a car.
Proud of tata🔥
It never compromises on safety standards for our indian people.
Nano?
@@LRH-mq8obit was made as an alternative for 2 wheeler it was safer than 2 wheelers
@@kanishksaxena3342 then maruti are also safer than two wheelers, many people buy maruti to replace two wheelers as it is cheap.
NCAP rating isn't the only parameter of a safe car.
tata being safest car is a myth
Nitin Gadkari needs to update his knowledge and impose ban on cars below 4 star rating.
Bilkul sahi baat. Structure related regulations aane chahiye, airbags tin can me 50 bhi daalo thodi kuch kar paegi..
I'm so grateful that I found your channel.......
We should implement legal requirement for 4 to 5 star global NCAP rating cars in India
Apki aavaaz India government tak pahuchni chahiye .very nice
(This is a very doubtful and sort of quite wrong feeling thought)
So, the 6 airbags thing actually might be to promote our Indian brands cuz, these other brands aren't gonna improve their safety much, so obviously the public will shift faster to the indian ones
2 saal hogye lekin 6 air bag nahi milte base model and mid model mai, kuch to airbag bhi mushkil se dete hai abhi bhi
Absolutely Great 👍 Video, you're correct 💯💪
Very well researched video. good work
Well said bro ....
Hats off to you
More than the vehicle itself, it is the casual approach towards road rules all over India that is claiming lives. My two bit take on this 🙏🏽
We need good cars driven by responsible drivers.
Proud owner of Tata Tiago and i have been driving since 2020 till now i haven't faced any problem.🥰🥰
lord tiago bol bhai
Airbags or helmet or rigid structure can reduce risk of serious injury however it will not reduce number of accident. Implementation of motor vehicle rules strictly can reduce number of accidents to great extent.
It was a really good video. I was planning to go for Kia... But not anymore. Gonna go for Tata. Thanks.
Your video topics are really good, keep up your good work.
Aapka content dekh ke maza ata hai ... Har baar best quality content
to fix all the problems in the indian car the government has to reduce the high taxes on the automobile industry this will not only reduce the cost of the entry level cars by a lot but also after seeing the profits earned by the companies, they will add better structure and safety features
at least this is what i believe
Hey.. make a video on all NCAP tastes, their system and how many types of NCAP are there and which is important among all of tests.. 👍
Minimum 4 star compulsory karna chahiye. Bikes me combi 2 channel ABS compulsory karna chahiye.
Very informative appreciate you 🙏
Thank you sir
Good information 🙂
The main. Reason is price in europe suzuki swift costs 20k euros starting and automatic variant with laoded features can coat upto 30k
Compare that to India.
A good intention that might end up with bad result. 6 airbags will make the price of base-level cars to jump and the people hoping to shift from two-wheelers to car - a much safer options, will not be able to afford cars.
Jus bought creta, after seeing this planning to sell... Good video.. Thanks🎉
Well if we compare to 2014 , we have come a long way because of nitin gadkari ji. So i think jald hi platform par bhi rule aayega
I agree, Atleast a start!
better then 0 zero airbags!
The solution might not be ultimate but I think they are on the right path
Kaash yehi baat mai kuch Maruti Suzuki ke andh bhakto ko samja pata .... Unki safe cars zadatar nexa platform me bikte hai jiska price b zada hai . I think making cars with good quality materials is comparatively more expensive as compared to integrating 6 airframes, even in basic economy cars, that's why Gadkariji took such a decision.
Why can’t road taxes be decreased to handle increasing car prices
Also the position and the Child seats used in both cars are completely different according to what the reports say. Please take time reading the reports first.
Bhai Europe mai jo same model bik raha, uska price bhi post krdo in comparison to india, fir dekho log kya choose krte hn.
Gud work...ise kehte hain info.
150+ bhp makes no sense while most of your usage lies in heavy traffic.
6 airbag ki jagah agar ADAS ko compulsory krte to phir kya hi baat.
Aur ADAS me use hone wali chezo ko PLI ke under subside de dete to uski price km ho jati
Everybody here is commenting on passive safety in every case well,1st step should be towards active safety and good driving habit ads and appreciation. This can save a lot of lives. When will we understand that even after a solid structure death is possible and driving responsibly is a duty and equal to service to nation. Improving driving skills should be a prime focus too.
