Glad that I'm not the only one. Most people are saying fluidic Verna is the best in terms of design, but in my opinion the new model is better looking than the previous ones.
Had they given 17" alloys with verna, it would have filled the wheel arch a little more and made it look slightly better. A simple multi spoke design for alloys would also have been nice. Fluidic was the best verna design they launched till date honestly.
When it comes to automotive industry, the most important thing is the brand identity. Best example is the Porsche 911. It's been around like more than 60 - 70 years but you can instantly identify it as a 911 even today & it's not like it hasn't evolved with time, they've updated it as time has passed but they haven't moved it away from it's identity. Professional car designer here. Here is the thing, when Indians buy cars, they don’t base decision on just style, its the company rep, maintainable, resale, service etc. Proof is Hyundai Creta. From day one ppl said its damn ugly, its this or that, old creta was better etc. Yet before launch only in had 30K bookings and has had super sales since. Also, social media comments are not representing actual Indian public. Half of UA-cam comments can’t afford cars.
So true... Thanks a lot for serving such a detailed and amazing explanation. Nowadays these weird designs are not appealing as well as before. Foolish futuristic arguments.. 😂🎉 .
Hyundai old designs used to miss character, but new designs are really good. Each of it's product has it's uniquness even in the segment and even in the whole hyundai line-up. For example if person is buying creta and one is buying tucson, so there is uniqueness to each car and people know the difference in premiumness. But now look at Honda, each car has resemblence with whole line up, there is common grill, common shape etc So that really makes bad impression for person who want to buy premium product.
Whenever a new design of a particular model comes out, i get too sympathised and used to with older design such that i dont like the newer version until it becomes the older version. This always happens with me. I consider Camry changing designs from 2007 to 2023 models is prime example of this

The best example are the Chris Bangle era cars-be the E46 3 Series, E60 5 Series, E65 7 Series, or the OG X5 and Z4
I love these new futuristic cars from most of the manufacturers but connected lights (like in new Venue and Verna) look too overdone trying to give the premium look. Connected lights look good in expensive sports cars and EVs .
People are saying that the new Verna looks are polarizing but I strongly disagree. If we are to talk about polarizing looks we can talk about the new Creta and last year's Verna design (there are many better examples but Creta is from the same company as Verna so...) Some people liked new sleek looks of Creta while others preferred the original design same was with the Verna. It looked like some knocked off version of a luxury car. But those things were subjective. However the new Verna is objectively ugly. Even though we appreciate what they are doing and going for, we can't deny that it's improportionate, weirdly angled and asymmetrical and the roof drop design like Porsche can be triggering for people with OCD.
I think people will get bored of this design, just like people have got bored with creta's design. I don't think there is any match for German cars' design which are classic & evergreen
Let's wait awhile. Because I remember the new Creta's design not being liked by people on launch, but the Creta is selling very well. I still hate Creta but I do like this Verna. Maybe Hyundai's designs take time to grow on people.
One more reason why BMW is increasing the size of its kidney grills is because of China. Like in India, BMWs are seen as a status symbol in China and Chinese like the big grills as it looks more expensive. Also, China is a big market for BMW, so they have to adapt to Chinese needs even if it hurts its western customers. Donut media has an excellent video on this topic.
I am one of the people who sees the New Verna’s design as an upgrade. Except for the front light. Other than that, I absolutely love it. It looks like a mini Elantra. Hyundai knows what they are doing, and isn’t afraid to do it.
We have a 2017 Verna. But I Loved The 2020 Verna the most. The 2023 Verna looks like they took santro and stretched it a bit from the front. On eday i stopped for a traffic light and there came a very stylish sedan beside me..... initially it felt like some Audi (from my peripheral vision) but then i looked and was surprised to see that it was Verna 2023. The side and back looks of Verna 2023 are great.
The real reason is depreciation. If designs are changing so radically, with each new version the old ones instantly start looking old. However if the newer version is simply an evolution of the previous one, sharper yet still carrying similar elements, then the old one is able to retain its value better hence less convincing for people to switch. The secondary reasons are to expand or widen the scope of customers attracted, which is made possible by not limiting or shoehorning the design of your cars and hence your customer base to a certain style associated with the brand. If you think about it, if someone dislikes the Honda City, they wouldn't pay any attention to each new update it gets because it'll still resemble the same. A lot of this is marketing and psychology.
The new verna looks way too cool!!! I find it hard to believe that there are sections of car enthusiasts who don’t like it. I believe a buyer who’s age is less than 35 yrs today will opt for the newer model as it appeals to the youth more than anyone. Personally I feel it’s the best design sedan in 2023 Indian market.

Bhid main unique dikhne ke liye wierd gaadiyan banaao.... Aise to pontiac aztec bhi bheed se alag dikhtii hain....... to kya ab unique rehne ke liye ugly designs banaye...?? You can still make good and unique designs and there are many examples in past... One of the best example is land rover Evoque.... Vo gaadi abhi bhi fresh, unique aur sabse main acchi dikhti hain.... Aur gaadi ki uniqueness bas design pe nahi, alag alag factors pe bhi depend karti hain.. like tata for their 5 star safety in smaller budget cars makes them unique from the competition like alto 800, ignis etc... Virtus, slavia makes them unique for their engines...... Hamesha design bighaadne ki koi jaarorat hi nahi hain💀

For some people new verna is cutting edge futuristic but for me it is concept car ugly or futuristic abomination as we can say 😂. The old ones are better looking. Heck now the old verna is gonna be crazy expensive due to crazy demand for it in the used car market.
The thing I like about Hyundai is that they dont let their products feel outdated. If tata or mahindra sold car with design like verna of 2012, they would be still selling it. Hyundai changes its design fully to keep it fresh.
I bought the new Verna and absolutely love the way it looks. Performance of the turbo engine on highways is a dream, but that aside even in a city like Bangalore, people turn for a second glance. In an ocean full of SUVs, people in my housing society and office know me because of my car. I say this because in many instances people have come over to talk about this car. 😊 Also, the sales numbers speak for themselves. The Verna outsells the 'supposedly' more good looking Virtus and Slavia.
If you look at new verna. Its not a bad design. BUT problem is that the front led bar is in an increasing eclipse that looks like a smiley, and the headlamp unit is placed on a straight line. So some rotations on headlights will still look better. But this…. this looks like a mistake that has poisoned the honda city design early 2000s model. Man that honda city was the most ugliest design. And im afraid ppl will say same thing for this verna. If i term this from the front, its a BLIND FISH design 😅

Like in India, BMWs are seen as a status symbol in China and Chinese like the big grills as it looks more expensive. Also, China is a big market for BMW, so they have to adapt to Chinese needs even if it hurts its western customers. Donut media has an excellent video on this topic.
Just saw new Verna today and it's something different , looks absolutely stunning man
I am one of the people who sees the New Verna’s design as an upgrade.
I think Kia needs to teach them both how futuristic looks can sit in logical designs
New gen Verna looks far more better than Prev gen although not better than starting Verna.
That sleek white line looks so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Looks are subjetive. I don't like the front look of new gen Verna. You can't impose your choices onto others.
@@Anoymous464 exactly, and I don't who are there designer who changed Hyundai chrome badge to this cheap third class silver badge
I HEREBY DECLARE THAT THE STATEMENT ABOVE MENTIONED IS TRUE TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE AND BELIEF
Hate the design personally
Virtus looks much better
Though you are spot on about BMW mismanaging front grill...
Majority of people are loving new Verna 's design.
🤣🤣🤣
The ones hating on it ride cycles. Trust.
Truth is that majority is not accepting this design
I like how you have grown your skills in presenting and making really interesting content.
Love your calm energy while you talk...
Great work, keep it up
Bhid main unique dikhne ke liye wierd gaadiyan banaao....
Bhai apka channel aur content boht hi bhardia hai. Mai automobile enthusiast hu esa hi informative channel dhoond raha tha. Esai bhardia content dalte raho.
Aur sabhi categories ke vehicles jese bikes ,pickup trucks, etc. Par bhi videos dalo ❤❤❤
Itna deep analysis aaj tak nehi dekha👌👌👌
Thank god!!!!!!! Finally kisi ne toh mere dil ki baat exactly keh di!!
Nio cars look better than Verna😂😂😂
I bet you don't even own a car 💀
@@anshnandagiri9390 so what even though someone not owning car? You judge people based on cars?
@@nikhilnigam5068 I said that because, is the new Verna really that bad? Dude, seriously comparing it with Nio, really?
Hyundai Elantra
@@anshnandagiri9390 yeah atleast the front is, it looks like a toy with a tubelight at the front
0:48 wala meme badiya tha😂😂😂😂😂😂
I bought the new Verna and absolutely love the way it looks.
Performance of the turbo engine on highways is a dream, but that aside even in a city like Bangalore, people turn for a second glance.
In an ocean full of SUVs, people in my housing society and office know me because of my car. I say this because in many instances people have come over to talk about this car. 😊
Also, the sales numbers speak for themselves. The Verna outsells the 'supposedly' more good looking Virtus and Slavia.
Best side view is the world is Jaguar Xj.
Nothing beats that
Very much informative
Love to Biturbo Media❤️
Except Volkswagen and some high end brands all make weird looking cars
If you look at new verna. Its not a bad design. BUT problem is that the front led bar is in an increasing eclipse that looks like a smiley, and the headlamp unit is placed on a straight line. So some rotations on headlights will still look better. But this…. this looks like a mistake that has poisoned the honda city design early 2000s model. Man that honda city was the most ugliest design. And im afraid ppl will say same thing for this verna. If i term this from the front, its a BLIND FISH design 😅
My favourite UA-cam channel ❤
Very informative video. This guy knows alot about his particular field. Clearly a automobile geek like me
90's Car Lovers Definitely Love this Model, what less? Retractable Headlights.
I find the front side of the new Verna absolutely hideous.
People buy hyundai for status in the middle class society whereas bmw is bought for performance and driving feel instead of design
Wow, Hyundai for status?
Yeah, if they wanna look like an uneducated chappri, your statement remains valid!
