- POV Street Photography - Sony A6000 + 55-210mm
In this video I hit the streets with my Sony A6000 and 55-210mm lens to see what I could get. I got so much good stuff I decided to split it into 2 videos!

Great video David! Enjoyed the look around as always. Loads of great images of people just going about their day, which I guess is at the heart of street photography. You captured that felling well here mate. Really enjoyed it!
Thanks, Paul. I wasn't sure how it would work out with that long lens for street, but I was pleasantly surprised. I feel like the best of the images are in the next part though once I'd figured it out a bit.
Thanks for watching, mate 🖖😁
5:06 I like the bench shot. Shadows on the wall look pretty cool.
Aye, there was some nice shadows. Best ones are in pt2😜
Thank you David, this lens will get back into my camera bag.
love your photos and even better that you chose this setup of 6000 and its “kit lens”. Photographer over equipment every single time. Cheers and happy holidays.
Thanks very much. I love doing this kind of thing as a way to test myself and to show that you don’t need to break the bank to get nice images.
Have a great holiday🖖
@@DavidFlowerOfficial Thanks to your video I went out to try this lens and got it as a kit option today :)
CrAZY how much cameras they have on the street...CRAZY!!!!
Really Nice shots!! Keep up with the videos, amazing stuff and inspiring! I'm about to get my Sony too and really excited to go out and shoot.
Thank you. These are the best kind of comments.
Take care mate 🖖
Recently stumbled across your channel. Loving your videos. Running an old school A6000 myself and loving what you get from yours even with this lens. Fantastic. Keep them coming!
Thanks very much. The a6000 is a great little camera. It's the one I reach for most of the time despite having full frame cameras too. Thanks for watching 🖖
@@DavidFlowerOfficial thanks for the reply David. Funny, I can watch hours of reviews, but the real beauty is just getting the camera out with a lens on and trying isn’t it? Doesn’t matter what camera what Lens, just try, and enjoy it. Looking forward to watching more of your stuff. Have a brilliant day
Exactly! I'm not one for chart tests and such. I think real world use is a much more accurate way to judge gear and it's way more fun.
Have a good one mate 🖖
love using my 200mm in the street. keeps me out of the action but feels close enough to be in it! Great shots man!
Cheers, Chris. Hope you're doing well mate 👊
@@DavidFlowerOfficial thank dude! life is crazy but i'll be back to making videos soon hopefully!
That worked well David - I think you're proving that to shoot street, you need to be out there with a camera and spot the compositions and definitely not get too hung up on what equipment you're shooting with. I absolutely love the road sweeper shot, brilliant stuff. ....and just look at those Blue skies - seems like a distant memory as I gaze up into the damp gloom of today, ho hum.......
Thanks, Tim. That's exactly what I was going for. Using "entry level" gear makes no difference and the a6000 remains one of my favourite cameras regardless of it's label. It's hard to believe that was less than a week ago looking at the weather now😂
More rainy, shiny streets coming up though I reckon 😁👍
@@DavidFlowerOfficial I must admit that I've never done my homework on the Sony cameras so I can never remember if the a6000 is "professional" or "amateur" - sarcasm intended!!!
The rain has definitely stopped my carpentry for the day - much soggy wood!!!!
The a6000 is the first of the a6xxx series from about 2014 or there abouts. Apsc, 24 mpx and incredibly capable. There's a reason it's one of the best selling mirrorless cameras ever made 😁
Great video as usual sir. Sorry not watching your other videos. Been busy at work and Twitter is my go to for my everyday needs. Have a good night there 😁❤️✌️
Thanks for watching, mate. Hope you're well 🖖😁
loved all the black and whites especially. nice one!
Thanks very much, mate. There are even more in the next part. All I need to do now is learn to edit bnw better 😂
Preset so good
Nice vid and shots, just bought a 55-210 recently and loving it. Just a question mind if i ask where do you edit your photos?
At this point I was using Lightroom and photoshop to edit, but more recently I’ve been using Luminar Neo 🖖
Yeaps Same a6000 do great work
a6000 doesnt have a stabilizer..using this lens without gimbal ,the come out pretty good.
The 55-210 is stabilized though, so that helps a bit. Thanks for watching 🖖
Buena jornada🎉
I just watched your video, wow there are camera trees there, it resembles a Chinese city!
If by camera trees you’re referring to those in the opening city scene, they’re actually lights. They project all kinds of things onto the buildings in the square, I’m pretty sure I shot the lights in a night video at some point. We do have cctv and a fair bit of it, but that’s not what you’re seeing at the start of this video 👍
Never thought to use a zoom lens for street photography. Great video, Great Images 👍
Thanks a lot👍
It worked out way better than I expected 😁
Great job!!! What is the camera did you used to make te review? Its a cellphone?
The talking head bit at the beginning and the PoV was all shot with the Osmo pocket. It’s an excellent camera that I still use today🖖
@@DavidFlowerOfficial cool. I have a Osmo pocket 2... I will also use it to record. Thanks for the tip!
Do you have a video showing how you place the camera?
@julianovieiraa For chest mounting the osmo I just bought a cheap Ulanzi case for it that has the standard GoPro style mount on it 👍
Thank you for this amazing video i really enjoyed every second
i have a question can we took a portrait with this objective 55-210mm ?
Yeah absolutely, although it's not a fast lens so you won't get as much background separation as something like an 85 f1.8, but it'll still do the job. Thanks for watching 🖖
What iso would be used in this kind of light? Or would you use automatic?
On a sunny day I’d always keep the iso at base and use the shutter and aperture to control the exposure and look of the images 🖖
is this lens 55-210mm are suitable for landscape view? for example himalayan view
That all depends on the distance away from the subject. 55-210 gives a ff equivalent of around 80-315 so it’s not exactly wide. I’d use a lens like this for detail or distance shots, but without seeing the scene it’s hard to know if it would work or not. Thanks for watching 🖖
which one best lens 55-210mm or 16mm ?
2 completely different lenses for completely different jobs. Not really comparable. Thanks for watching
@@DavidFlowerOfficial i want many blur background . which one lens best
If you want blur then definitely go for 55-210mm lens!!
What maximum operture is there this lens 55-210mm ?
I don’t have this anymore but if memory serves it was f4.5-6.3🖖
You used superior auto mode or manual?
I always shoot manual simply because the camera doesn’t know if I want a shallow depth of field or to freeze motion. I do occasionally use auto iso in manual mode but that doesn’t impact the characteristics of the shot👍
Where is the pink, purple led lights at the background bro ?
You mean in the intro? I sometimes use a blue/teal light but oftentimes I just can't be bothered to set it all up so in this case you got good old fashioned window light 😂
@@DavidFlowerOfficial actually I’m talking about typical classic UA-camr room design 😅
@@anilogretmenler oh I'm not young enough or UA-cam cool enough to have a 'studio'😂
@@DavidFlowerOfficial haha 😅 Nice works you have anyway 👍🏻
Is it good for background blur?
It's not as good as a fast prime, but you get a decent amount of separation at longer focal lengths due to background compression 🖖
@@DavidFlowerOfficial can this blur more than 50mm f1.8
