In couple of months ago i bought the Nikon 50mm F1.4 and Nikon 85mm F 1.8 and they are absolutely beautiful on my Nikon D5500 when I do street photography and street portraits
I started my street photography journey with the a6000. Although I have had many high spec cameras since, the a6000 was the one that I had most fun with. It went everywhere with me, many times to NYC. Got my best street shot with that camera. I may need to get another one.
What a nice proving video, that shows how perfect the a6000 can still work! I now own an a6000 with a sony 50mm f1.8 lens which works beautiful rn! Already thinking about adding a 30mm F1.4, what do you think?

Great video. I've been wondering how my little A6000 could handle low light situations with better lens than my 28-70 kit lens. Really liked the results even though it's a 10 year old camera. This video is a good example of gear is usually less important than creativity, composition and technical details (shutter speed, aperture, etc). I heard lots of great things about the 56mm Sigma lens, I'm thinking about buying one. :)
Hi Curtis, fantastic video ! I’m thinking about buying my first ever camera to shoot everything with it and was considering the a6000. Would it good paired with the kit lens 16-50mm?
this is literally the video i've been looking for. i've been planning on getting the a6000 but was held back by what people said about the low light performance
I need you to come to Shrewsbury, bit of a way out mind you- about 4 hours drive from central London. We've some amazing Tudor architecture and as it's quite a rural town still there's cars but nowhere near as many as in London.
Genuine Question, I thought shutter speed had to be at least double what your focal length is? So 56mm would have a SS of at least 1/125? Why is this something others have stated in videos but clearly from this video it's not an issue?
I just picked up an a5100 Its my first digital camera... I'm hoping to set up for night street photography. Would a sigma 30mm f1.4 be a good option... its not full frame so what would the lens spread end up as...?
Hey Curtis, I got a sony a6000 as a beginner to shoot photos of my kids basketball games. Would you recommend a6000 camera for this as most gyms have low light. If so what lense would you recommend to pair with this camera.
Loving the videos Curtis, still not managed to get back to London but hopefully soon. Can I ask, I’ve recently got hold of a Sony A7iii but only have the 50mm 1.8 with a standard zoom apparently on its way. I need a telephoto zoom for wildlife etc but have a strict budget, any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Bro can u do a review on the a6700 with the Sony 24mm 2.8 g lens . That compact lens would be awesome for street I just picked me up would love to see what u do with it
Loving the shots Curtis! London is an incredible city to shoot in! Loving the excellent London accent 😂 As a fellow northerner I find it hard to resist doing the same whenever I’m Darn Sarf! 😂
Hey man, i love your vids! I have an a6600 but I'm afraid of wearing down the shutter. I Know you like to shoot bursts so you don't miss moments so i was wondering how many clicks you have at your a6400 and how its holding up! Any way, thank you in advance.
You can shoot in silent mode which won't use the mechanical shutter. There's the risk of rolling shutter when using the electronic, but as long as subjects aren't moving across the frame too quickly it works very well and doesn't add to your shutter count.
Can we get more videos with A6000? Such great results by a 10 year old camera. Maybe some testing with old lenses and adapters. Manual lenses... stuff like that 😎👍
Making me miss London sir. Wife will be there in a couple of weeks but sadly not tagging along this time. Hopefully by the next time I come I'll have my 6700 though.
No you can't do that 😭😭😭 Nighttime street is for a1, a7RV or a7SIII only 😭😭😭 U need F1.2 lenses and IBIS to do that 😭😭😭 A6000 has always been crap 😭😭😭 FF or bust 😭😭😭 Sigma is for losers 😭😭😭 My lenses kost 2x your combo 😭😭😭 Just kidding. You're proofing once again, outstandingly, that it takes a basic cam, fine affordable glas, and photography + editing skills! Thank you for making that clear once again! 😃
The man outside smoking in Chinatown outside the restaurant I have eaten in his restaurant which is open till 3am in the morning and is the oldest restaurant in Chinatown London
What I love about this channel is that you explore so much crop systems. It's not that common these days on UA-cam.
Thanks dude, I try keep it flexible between Fullframe and APS-C cause I like shooting with both 😃
I have the A6000 with Sigma 56MM it’s my first camera and I love it. The 56MM allows me to take pictures of anything whether it’s portraits or cars.
What a setup 10/10!
This man is single handedly & quite literally teaching street photography without making any tutorials - love your videos thank you!
I appreciate that! Glad they are insightful and helpful videos 😀

Awesome style man. Keep em coming. I would pay 100 bucks for having those awesome presets for Darktable instead of lightroom.
