I seriously need to start learning about dosing. Im a year into my reef tank and ive been working on getting the essentials right but literally everyone with a beautiful tank does the dosing so i really have more to learn.
Loved seeing Blakes set-up....I love the simplicity of these type of set ups....Blakes a cool guy aswel....I'll be in on Sunday...thanks for another great video Sam.
I have a couple of XR15s and the PAR at 100% isn't anywhere near the PAR of my XR30s at 70%. One of my tanks is a similar sized tank and this has inspired me to do a reboot on it. What a great little tank this is and I love that it doesn't have all the expensive gear on it. It makes Blake's efforts even more impressive.
This tank and Julian’s wow just beautiful. I am looking for a light on my 15 gallon cube and I am very attracted to this blue…almost blue aqua look. Not a kessil blue. Is it the radions or your camera? Thanks for showing us these amazing tanks and reef builders!
@@ParkersReef I did really look hard at the AI Prime. I think the scheduling is putting me off a bit. I am trying to find lights that appeal to my eye and then see what might be best. I can no longer tell if the look I like is the actual fixture or the camera’s! I like the look of Illumagic pixels in the fragger and the reefer combined. Gives off that aqua colored water with a coral pop but not a deep, deep blue. I understand the corals gotta have what they gotta have so it’s not all about my eyes. I am getting back into saltwater. Used to be we only talked about watts per gallon and a white and blue tube! These leds, although a bit confusing, are amazing.
I honestly cannot recommend the AI blade enough, very affordable, slick fixture with a great looking spectrum that the corals seem to respond very well to
I really appreciate this video... simplistic and beautiful nano tank. It is always overwhelming to see big tank and the amount of $$ required to set it up (especially for beginner).
I just updated my 45cm cube nano that also run with Tidal 110 to a 200 litretank. No skimmer just one wavemaker. The good thing about Tidal 110 is besides high volume is the flow that you adjust a little, you can just use the surface intake, one can fit a sufficient heater inside it and you can have the cooler fan on top of the filter instead of the tank.
Fantastic video Sam, I loved this one. Blake is such a talented reefer. Well done mate. Such a beautiful mature nano system 🙌. Would love to follow your journey on the Cade. Blake, please get a UA-cam channel. Top stuff gents 👍
That tank is awesome. K.I.S.S. really shows here. Just a thought, the light seems a bit high for the g5 or g6 radions. BRS has done tests to show the best heights for spread and par. The newer generations just have way more spread. Seems to be a small amount of spillage outside the tank.
Thanks for the info! We'll suss it out but as a tank replacement and eventually an upgrade is coming, it's probably best not to change the formula too much just now :)
16:38 hey that thing on the floor ypu called it an air scrubber or c02 scrubber can you explain what that is and should i add it to my tabk what are the benefits and whats the white stuff inside of it ?
ive found if you dont want your nem to move increase your flow and stick it in the lowest flow location which sort of traps them there. until the power goes out or you do maintenance on your wave makers haha as for the gsp i hear of this alot. i.had my whole back wall covered in gsp then they closed up and melted. i have maybe a 50cent peice size remaining. it was thankfully given to me after it melted in store and only had 2 polyps left withinn 12 months it had spread across the whole back well besides the shaddows and it looked great..hoping that in a year from now it will be back to what it was but after 2 years without skipping a beat my tanks been over compensating and having back to back problems. probably due becoming complacent
It’s been proven time and time again you can grow any kind of coral with cheaper lighting. That narrative is just wrong. I love the simple unconventional equipment, you can run an amazing tank this way!
I turned my aqueon 30 gallon tank to a reef tank no sump , using a canister filter but after keeping it for over 3 years my next build I will definitely get a sump 😂 . All the gear would be hidden underneath instead of having all kind of equipment on top of the tank like his
Oh for sure, a sump is always a better option - but this is still an incredible result for a system that was never meant to produce results like this :)
I actually feel the opposite about lights. My first tank I ran g5 Radions and was a little annoyed at how little par I got from them. I don't see the hype with these lights.
He's too modest, done a great job with such a small system
Agreed! The tank is amazing!!
@@ParkersReefI love what hobbyist are turning these nanos into
Thanks!
Thank you!!! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏻

At the one year mark, you definitely want to look into it. Makes life so much easier :)
Blake is a funny guy with a great personality. Just to see what can be done in a glass box with not much filtration. Beautiful tank!
He’s a master at the reefing game!
An excellent example of a system. Good to see an actually obtainable reef tank. Proof you don’t need to drop tens of thousands. It’s beautiful.
That’s it, this system has been setup around very obtainable equipment and still kicks goals. Truly inspiring!

Just the hype marketing made these the LED standard
Yeah that is interesting hey??? Glad it was able to inspire you to reboot though, this tank is super inspiring!
@@porboi1 The XR30s are definitely the gold standard. The XR15s would be lucky to take bronze.
always thought the xr15 was just half a xr30, seems they're less than that
A little jewel ❤, Blake is a special guest 👏👏👏.
Absolutely!
What a great personality and a brilliant candid interview. Wishing you all the best with your new tank.
He’s a legend! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment :)
Awesome system ;)
It really is!

Many thanks! Lots of options for a tank that size, personally I'd be looking at an AI Blade, but a radion xr15 would work nicely too

I’ve been pushing him to start his own channel!!!
Beautiful tank man! Great job!
It’s a beauty!!
Love a good old hang-on-the-back filter. Super basic concept but nothing more needed on something that size, well done!
Totally agree!
Will second that filter choice, im using the same on an aqua one 182L tank and fantastic :)
It’s a quality unit 👌🏻

@@ParkersReef yes sir. I just wanted to pass on those lighting tests to the fellow reefers out there. They were quite comprehensive with the testing.
Wow . This is a nice reef tank without breaking the bank . Very well taken care . Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great job 🙌👏👌✌️
Blake’s sure kicking goals with this tank
yellow coral goby best character, love mine
They’re cool hey!
Great tank, even better music taster Beartooth!!
Hahaha yes, Blake has some awesome taste in music!!
Awesome Nano. Congratulations on your success !
Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
My GSP frags on the glass took FOREVER to start growing. Then they got settled i suppose and started spreading like wild
Got their in the end though!!!
@ yes! Just nice to see someone else had that same situation. I was starting to think i was the only person that couldnt grow gsp🤣
More nano vids👍👍
Will try!! Just got to get more willing participants.
Have you seen this one:

16:38 hey that thing on the floor ypu called it an air scrubber or c02 scrubber can you explain what that is and should i add it to my tabk what are the benefits and whats the white stuff inside of it ?
It just draws air to the skimmer through it. The media inside removes c02 from the air which increases ph
Thats a radion and hes running it at 95% in that small tank ? I seriously need to crank up my lights lol
yep those XR15's don't put out a huge amount of PAR.
Hey, What forum/website do reefers use in AUS to trade corals, frags livestock etc?
usually short lived facebook groups before they get shut down for livestock sales :D
Bro doesn’t have a sump but everything that goes into a sump is hanging on the sides. 😂
I know right and the tank still looks better than 99% of the reefs I see!!!

Yeah that’s certainly one way to tackle it 👍🏻
We’re can I get that Cadbury purple Monti from, do you know who sells it?
I think Blake got it from deer park aquarium, but it could have been a Batavia frag?
I’ll check it out thanks… I think u must have a frag for myself!
Purple pink and red glitters are my favorite corals of all time.
they're pretty gorgeous hey? Some of them are sooooo glittery it isn't funny :)

What were you switching from though? Radions are a decent product, but they are certainly not the only viable option out there
Thats a green mandarin, the psychedelic is white, but the green mandarin is a much better looking fish in my opinion.
Funny you should say that, I’ve always thought they were the other way around. But you’re right
