Bruce Wayne has found a dancing partner for his Swedish ball. Here's the review on the irresistible Nordic anomaly that has to be one of the BEST cars I've ever driven.
The V60 is Volvo’s 5-door, 5-seat mid-size estate. It is built on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), Volvo’s advanced modular product platform that underpins all Volvos in the 90 and 60 Series.
Underlining Volvo’s position as a maker of cars that combine good looks with everyday practicality, the V60 highlights the company’s pedigree in family estates that cater to the diverse needs and realities of modern family life.
Like the S60 sedan, the V60 carries the proud and confident face of Volvo’s design language, along with classic Volvo styling cues. Key features include the iconic “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlight design, the new grille and Volvo Iron Mark, and the expressive use of the Volvo word mark on the rear.
Inside, Volvo has taken cues from the clean, Scandinavian interior design first introduced in the 90 Series cars, raising the bar in the segment with natural materials and new details on the dashboard and instrument panel.

Its a shame station wagons hardly exist in the United States anymore, they really are the best vehicles for multi purpose use from hauling kids to school and hauling stuff from Home Depot while being more fuel efficient, more easier to park and more maneuverable. Who needs giant pickup trucks, suvs and crossovers when a station wagon can do all the cargo hauling and family stuff more easier

Nice review Kirk! I own a '21 Volvo V60 Polestar, bought new and it has traversed the country and has been to a couple track days. You nailed the perspective for this Thing. It is supremely capable for the price point. While it is tempting to upgrade for the increased EV range/power, the loss of the physical switches for touch sensors along with the putting the drive modes behind the touch interface are not great trade-offs. Highly recommend if you want one, get a CPO unit and purchase the additional extended warranty to have complete coverage.
A couple answers for you based on my ownership observations:
    1. Volvo quotes the electric range in "Hybrid" mode. The difference in range between "Hybrid" and "Pure" is around 2-4 miles. This is so the car can still act as a mild hybrid
    2. The rumble you felt after firing up the ICE at 11:28 is the car prioritizing the warming of the catalytic converter for greater ICE efficiency. It returns to a lower idle after
    3. The car will also not provide you with 100% power from the ICE after starting it. The motor incrementally ups the amount of power it can deliver as it warms up and all the sensors agree with its condition
    4. The pre-2023 model year V60PE's will have Volvo's Sensus OS which allows you to have greater customization over the digital dash

@@avdp9095 I totally disagree. Today's Volvos are Swedish engineered, some are Swedish built and have more saftey features. The 200 series was dated, the 700 series OK, the 900 series an updated 700 series and the 800s were very nice. But today's cars have more sophisticated road manners and are just as, if not more, solid than the ones built in the 80s and 90s.
Also, Volvos are managed and designed, crash tested, etc. in Gothenburg, Sweden as they always have. They've had two parent companies since, but by far Geely is the better one and Volvo enjoys a good amount of autonomy in their group.

I had the XC60 Polestar for a day and I loved it (I have the last year V60 T5 inline-5 turbo) but was disappointed at the performance but I'm not sure if the electric assist was working b/c I think it didn't have a charge (it would fluctuate between 1-3%). I would really like to drive the V60 PS and see how much difference there is.
Has anyone else noticed that the newer XC60's look like a wagon from behind instead of SUV size? IDK if I maybe the ones I saw were lowered (saw 2 in the same area on same day) but I had to look 4-5 times to make sure it was the XC and not the V and I'm also sure that it wasn't the V60 XC (which is what I have).

I had a 2023 one of these, in the same color. Loved the car but I got a bad APR and was eating into my other hobbies too much so I had to get rid of it just last month. Dealer told me that Volvo only made 200 Polestar Engineered V60 wagons for 2023.
The only drawbacks imho were the transmission (it's nice, but it's not a sports car transmission, it doesn't shift that fast or consistently) and as Kirk mentioned the lack of customizability in the displays/infotainment. The latter is because of their switch to Google Auto. I had a 2021 S60 (non Polestar) beforehand, which was the last year before they switched to Google. While I did love having Google Maps in my 2023 V60 PE, I missed a lot of the features they removed because of it, including the physical button to change drive modes (instead of having to go thru 3 button presses on the screen now to get to them), the Individual Drive mode (setting custom engine/trans/traction settings), and the removal of traction control setting (which let you put traction control into a Sport mode for quicker take offs and a bit more sportier driving).
But that said I did love the car, I miss it a lot, but my wallet doesn't, ha ha
