Hybrids are hard on ICE's. ICE's wear because of temperature cycles, not because of miles driven. Batteries wear because of charge/decharge cycles (especially fast charging). Guess what? Hybrids have a lot of cycles in temperature (ICE on/off) and battery charge cycles (every few minutes in city traffic). Plus, having two energy storages and two engines (sorry, 1 motor) and a connecting transmission gives more weight, thereby annihilating the efficiency for a large part and it adds complexity, reducing durability and reliability. No hybrids for me.
I once owned a Citroen 2CV: the "tin snail". As ancient as this design was, it was still capable of achieving 50mpg. As a long term proposition, all of this convoluted hybrid garbage is a non starter. Together with their obvious limitations, the same can be said for EV's. None of this makes common sense as a practical means of everyday transport, and not everyone is that stupid.

we have Nissans with good Hybrid engines in Europe but unfortunately they are from Renault because Nissan cant do Hybrid engines 😂
That's fine. Choose the powertrain that you see is best for you. Let's hope there's a future with lots of choice
In Miami here we have no prologue available they come in n they disappear.
Honda should make a climax and epilogue trim models.
11:21 Well, that is what you voted for, right? Get rid of the regulations so nobody has to ensure things are safe and the people who never have to worry about being harmed can just make more money. Laughing all the way to the bank.
Move to Europe if you enjoy overbearing regulations
@ overbearing to whom? Regulations that protect peoples health, safety, data, privacy are not overbearing to the people. They’re overbearing to the billionaires who cry about them even though they’re making record profits. That’s whose side complains about the “crippling regulations”.
Basically, the Chinese are going to take out the Japanese and Koreans in their home country. Maybe VW and German luxury brands survive. Ford and GM are also done. French are also failing hard in China
Keep in mind a hybrid battery lasts about 10 years. Subtract the cost of a replacement battery from the amount of money you saved on gas.
Merging? Or is Honda buying Nissan (and Mitsubishi) and making it (them) a subsidiary? I know this sounds crazy but I wish that Honda/Mitsubishi/Nissan would Americanize kei cars. They would be affordable and fun. And, Americans want affordable cars and small SUVs.
I recently sa a new Prologue on the road on Maryland’s eastern shore. It was gorgeous!
They want Mitsu's off road tech
Do you have a video on your second channel about a Honda monkey?
I talk about it a lot .. but I don't have one (yet)
@ ok 👍
Still no news on a Honda large platform hybrid?
Zilch
So Honduha shakes GM hands 1st and now Nissan? From bad to worse 😂
honda was the original "low emission vehicle" this is on brand
Honda with their market cap of 36 billion probably is hoping for access to a bit of Mitsubishi's 70 trillion market cap. Unfortunately for Honda Mitsubishi is more concerned with making guns, military vehicles and rocket engines currently. They don't do much with Mitsubishi Motors anymore.
EVs are a sinking ship for many manufacturers. Merging to make more evs may not be a good idea. Just sayin’
A bigger number of Nissan cars compete with Honda, Toyota while Mitsubishi is more on the off-road vehicles which Honda has less of.
Well everything sold by Nissan and Mitsubishi in the US is garbage, and I’ve driven the leaf and the Ariya and the prologue. I don’t see how the merger is beneficial.
Some companies just have to go out of business, I guess.
Mitsubish didn’t really have a delica in the states but did have the L series vans in the 80s which many delicas are based on.
If it helps all three brands, especially Mitsubishi, to make exciting cars again (Honda and Nissan are trying), I’m for it.
They need to make bold, risky moves with focus on design and features. Hyundai and Kia, especially with their EVs, are making really interesting cars.
I’m also rooting for the Japanese automakers to get back their exciting hey day. Back in the day Hyundai /Kia were among the worst in the industry. They sure came a long way.
But I still rather a Japanese brand .
I still prefer Foxconn over Honda. I’m not worried about Nissan and Mitsubishi under Honda. I worried about Honda if they buy Nissan. They have nothing to gain from them. Honda should deepen their ties with Sony and Nissan should go to Foxconn. Foxconn has more money anyway. Honda can pull this off on their own.
Did the Outlander PHEV get an upgrade to its on-board charger? what's held me back from trading in my Pacifica PHEV for the Outlander PHEV was the charge time... 6.5-hours on level 2 for 38 miles is sad. (for context, Pacifica PHEV level2 = 2+ hours for 32mi)
First thing I said was, how the F do you get on the front seats of that Mitsubishi van? LOL
7:49 *Stolen designs and tech from any company that had a presence in China. It’s
A all knockoffs with no quality. Whoopsy
a Honda is cars... cars is Honda
Wonderful English 😂
understand the philosophy
@@DriverX-JDM understand the language before you use it
u dont hv the caliber to understand philosophy.. i get it now
@@DriverX-JDM moron, the point is that you don't even have enough English to articulate it properly. Your philosophy is generic nonsense I can find on a cereal box.
selling a good car to ppl is like selling a book to cows... it's just impossible!
Kirk, given Honda will take on Nissan debentures, you should do a cost-benefit valuation. Even simple Excel model would reveal how Honda will engage Nissan in negotiations and what the premium would be for the merger.
Nissan has good trucks and SUVs (not the Rogue or the Murano). There is hope to revive to Nissan of yesteryear. The possibilities are endless, but hopefully Renault will leave from this promising marriage.
The two cars look like wanna be cyber trucks
Your thoughts on the Nissan E-Power driving systems. I think it's the smartest system on the market, because the car is always driven by the electric motor giving you an EV driving experience without the anxiety and need to plug it in, and the other good thing it has no gear box.
I'll have to drive one...
HonDatsun
Anyone with a brush knows Honda needs Nissan just as bad. They are decades ahead with EVs
Just because Nissan has ariya and leaf doesn't mean they're ahead in EV tech. Honda zero series will blow Nissans ariya away
That's wired kirk first you say Mitsubishi hybrid is good then another Video after test drive well its not great. Now your saying it's great. I'm confused do you even like Mitsubishi plug in hybrid you seem to flip flop every video on Mitsubishi plug in hybrid.
It's not perfect but if you drive in EV mode most of the time it's solid. It's not efficient in hybrid mode, nor responsive. RAV4 PHEV is superior but typically more expensive.
Nissan makes great cars. The Sentra, Kicks, and Frontier are better than Toyota’s counterparts.
so... Honda Prologue is getting the Integra Type R treatment as of now? (financial damagewise)
im on plus sides on merger, EV as choices i still get it. but if become sole solution MEH. atleast honda updates of hybrids hopefully the trio would be great choices. i know they had small (if not have any much times) but again focused on hybrid first then other prriority
Is Tesla the only EV maker that isn't losing money on every car? I think all the Chinese brands are still losing on each car too.
Its amazing to me that most of these legacy brands, push out an EV, and lose approx. 10K per car while Telsa profits approx. 8K per car.
What well happen with Subaru with their prices and their jobs?
