      Yup! If you're a newer comedian or up and coming, Bill doesn't even try to understand or flow with the conversation or the humor. He lectures you and tears u apart. I appreciate his honesty,and I'm a fan. But he does that shit on podcasts. Except for Joe Rogan! He doesn't do that shit to Joe. Idk man.he talks about making friends and knowing people but isn't giving other people a chance to know him. Ugh

    Rewatching this years later. Its pretty clear Theo was flustered and nervous, which added to the difference in generations and attitudes. Theos the kind of guy to tell his friends he loves them Bills the type to roast his friend for being sad.

    If Bill and Theo do another podcast together I think it will go a lot smoother because they'll both know not to try and relate to each other. They have literally nothing in common besides being in the same industry.

      I don't want to be that guy, but Burr has also mellowed out a ton after doing shrooms. The amount he has changed in just two years is astounding, and I think he'd be a much better guest for Theo, especially after seeing him on all these other podcasts post 2020. How he was on Tyson's podcast comes to mind. It's like a night and day difference compared to this.

    I think Bill was taught vulnerability is weakness that must be repressed and eradicated
    by his father. Theo is humble, honest and vulnerable. I think his vulnerability stirs up something in Bill that he is still wrestling with. They are both brilliant comics.

However, I'm a grumpy fucker myself and I grew up with a less than exemplar dad, but with age I've realised that the "that's who I am" excuse is just another sign of arrogance and immaturity. At no point in this interview has Theo lacked respect towards Bill and yet he really leaned into him whenever possible. I don't care really, it's just a sad realisation that people aren't always what you think they are.

    This wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. From the comments I thought it was going to be super rough. Bill is brash and abrasive. That’s not surprising. Theo did a great job interviewing. He adjusted his style to try and make it a good episode. Good job Theo.

      Theo’s IMDb has him at 16 actor credits, 4 writer credits, he has a Netflix special, popular podcasts (which is big enough to have Bill Burr on), and just cancelled his European tour (which on its own is pretty big) for a movie deal so I mean yeah... That sounds like making it to me. But it is all relative for sure

      I noticed that, too. He REALLY didn't wanna get shot down for that. That was the only part of the podcast where I felt the discomfort. I just saw Bill cracking jokes like he always does. But when he asked if he believed in heaven and Theo was just serious and continued his train of thought, I was like "Bill, don't you dare...". I'm glad he didn't roast him for his beliefs. Usually I'm the one to respect people more who push buttons in comedy no matter what the topic is. It might be because it's personal for me, also.

    This was so sad to watch after just watching Bill on Steve-O's podcast. Bill was so respectful of Steve and it is so sad to see him being so rude and callous towards Theo. I was excited to watch this old episode... and I think Bill has chilled out since this cause he talks about how's he's been working on being more peaceful and such. Love you Theo.       Good one. Especially since its scientifically salient. Theo has an awareness of language that Bill really does not. Bills strength is his jumping between concepts in language, which probably stems from his action based cognition. They both have this brand of being simpletons, but their genius is so specific that they did not have anything in common at this mood and time.

I think this is just how Bill is, doesn't matter who's interviewing him he's always on edge and ready to be annoyed.       There’s a difference in friendly arguing and just not having chemistry. The first H3 podcast was really bad, Burr just wasn’t going along with any bits, or really saying anything funny. It was just super tense and it just felt like they don’t fit together. But his new H3 appearance was much better, I really think it just depends on Bills mindset because it feels like going in the first time he is really on edge and not expecting to have fun.
