@@HowtoRetro managed to get an impressively stable retroarch running nicely thanks to another of your videos. Looks great so far with only one or two software errors
Had a Commodore 64, Amiga 500 and 600 HD. Absolute amazing machines. Such a shame they lost markets and terrain. Miss those days in the 80’s and early 90’s
There are three other _existing_ options for Amiga emulation... [1] Amiberry - Linux and Mac. Amiberry was initially designed for ARM based boards like the Raspberry Pi, they also have X86 versions for Mac and Linux. The interface is a cut down version of WinUAE's UI with added support to directly boot a WHDLoad package. And for some more esoteric options (probably not worth using)... [2] clksignal - Linux only Has SDL and QT versions... but the SDL version is commandline only and the QT version that does have a GUI doesn't work, but you can put an ADF into the commandline after clksignal and it works, just don't ask me how to configure it. [3] MAME It's MAME with MAME's ROMset requirements and MAME's UI. Probably the only way to play Arcadia games (arcade system that was based on the Amiga)
Sadly FS-UAE is no longer being developed, the latest build is a couple of years old. Also, there's this new emulator called "Denise" which emulates the C= 64 AND the Amiga.
I lnow to use all those emus, but it's a SHAME, after more than 20, still no user friendly amiga user friendly like genesis emulators....This is sad :(
Whilst I've been familiar with pretty much every Amiga emulator going, you're right, it'd be so nice to have a really easy to use Amiga emulator, just for convenience more than anything.
I use the Android emulator and the Amiga mini. None are perfect, good and bad in either systems. The mini has whdload options, where you can simply drop it onto the usb stick, while the Android supports upto 4 floppies without any trouble. Pandory mod for the Amiga mini uses puae, albeit i dont like Retroatch, while the mini uses a different emulator under the hood.
The emulator is friendly, what happens is that The Amiga had several variants and that is why you must know how to configure it, that is, the type of AMIGA you want to use, even the WinUae emulator itself helps you preset with the type of AMIGA computer that you want to use.
I know what you mean. Most computer emulators suck because they don't account for people who have no idea what the fuck any of the hardware combos are in the first place. Biggest tip and advice for you for an easy experience: Look for the following UA-cam videos from NettiGaming, and basically download what she gives you and make a backup of it so you always have it since it's nice and has iGame already configured with Opus file manager: Play Commodore Amiga games on your PC - EASY SETUP! I’ve struggled with winuae for some years… don’t know why it never occurred to me to look for simpler emulators! Thanks for the vid 👍
Thank you! It's still not a perfect world with Amiga emulators, but at least there are options!

Thanks again! Yes, RetroArch is a pinickity little app sometimes, but is absolutely one of the best once you get familiar with it!

Winuae is also included with Amiga Forever
I use fs-uae on mx linux and it runs ok..However i am not sure fs-uae is still being maintained,,
FS-UAE with no doubt.
Which Amiga emulators are NOT under active development?

Today I discovered Alice, but I didn't get it to work

I had one back in the day, remember playing Batman for days. Is it worth it today? Don't want to spoil the memories…
amiga forever was not easy to use, and after trying several games which didnt work well, i gave up.
i wish someone with common sense would make an amiga emulator. theres not a single amiga emulator that is user friendly.
