    Fantastic tutorial! 😊 It helped me a lot with my first ever project ( even done a video) ! I needed to decant TS-8 and there were no issues along the way! Decanting was the part of preparation proces that I was afraid most. As I have never worked with airbrush I didn't know how much thinner should I add (if any?) but thanks to your video I was able to find the right ratio! Thanks! 😀

    I love how these contain 2 marble balls for mixing instead of the typical 1 ball xD recycled a can of this today for free sheet metal not much bit for small washer/mounts fabs it'll do!

    Another great tip. Thank you! I use mostly airbrush paints and clear (splash) but have always stayed true to Tamiya Primer.. love the stuff. Looks like it’s time to decant it!

    Hi Paul,
    I expect a lot of people do this, that is clean the straw with a pipe cleaner dipped in
    lacquer thinners. Thought it might help someone who is new to modelling. I have used the same straw for decanting for a year or two. ( Tight begger ) Cleans it perfectly, no matter what colour. Thanks for an interesting video.

    Paul, Tamiya sells there Grey & White primers in bottles ready to thin and spray. The bottled primers are far more economical than their canned primers. Have you tried them yet???

    Well... Few things become much clearer for me now. I recently tried to decan TS-55 and closed it in a bottle just after the process. It almost exploded with bubbles, when I tried to put it in airbrush a bit later. Very helpfull video, thx a lot Paul.

    This is really helpful, thanks. I have been using Tamiya Surface Primer from the rattle can on my Bandai models which work well but I would prefer to airbrush it, not least because you probably get more economical paint coverage. Can I use the same technique for spraying TS-13 (Gloss Clear) and TS-80 (Flat Clear)? Again it would give me more control and I always feel like most of the spray is disappearing around the model in a big cloud! incidentally I use Vallejo Model Air colours for the paint coats.

    So if I use the decanted paint with a brush for some fine work on a lexn body, then what do I use to clean the brush? Yes I can buy some Tamiya sovlent, but what else will clean brushes that I have used with Tamya Polycarbonate PS spray paint. There's nothing really positive on the internet. What do you suggest?

    Hi Paul, I tried to decan the Tamiya primer because I like the airbrush more than the spray cans and everything went well. Got the primer in the plastic cup without any mess, but after an hour or so the plastic cup started to melt completely waisting all the paint. Any idea how that's possible?

    • @InternationalScaleModeller
      @InternationalScaleModeller  3 роки тому

      It’ll be because your cup isn’t lacquer proof. Some of the cheaper shot glasses and medicine cups melt with lacquer. Get the proper medical grade ones they are not much more expensive
