- Thanks to the original poster of this clip, I was able to clean it up & sync it to the stereo soundtrack. Not perfection, but it works.
For best results, watch in HQ with headphones on (or really good speakers!)
Each of those backup singers has a better voice than anyone singing in 2023. They're awesome.
Days of class good tast and fine songwriting...happy we lived them
The female vocals on this are what set apart 70's rock and today's music. Awesome.
They are stunningly beautiful aren’t they? Same with “every time I think of you” just brilliant backup vocals.
I second that!
I wanted to be a backup singer. I ended up messing up my vocal cords. But you are correct the backup singers make the songs good.
Absolutely beautiful especially Myrna Matthews and John Waite has a gorgeous voice of an angel 😇🙏 ty so much for being a US citizen while retaining your British citizenship roughly 5 years ago I love you so much my dear were my first MTV crush and favorite British male rocker you look adorable and sweet and darling funny and sexy as hell I've had the privilege of meeting you a few times and we've spoken on the phone multiple times and I've seen you live 7 times no shit hunny you are so cute people who are jealous little dicks

Still enjoying this song❤at almost 70 years of age, keep listening this over and over, pure music!
I have always loved this song since it first came out. Beautiful and powerful! It's hard to believe how old it is now.
For a moment in time, John Waite was on top of the world.
Missing You by John Waite was a MEGA HIT back in 1985!
Amazing song, what a brilliant production. 40+ years later and it still is just as amazing as the first time I heard it.
No comments? OK, here's one. Great song, terrific vocals, very surreal romantic. It's almost gospel-like.
Those background singers are fantastic!
This song blew me away in the late 70s. My parents bought some compilation album that JC Penney commissioned and sold i believe. It had Meco's Star Wars disco theme and Heaven on the Seventh Floor as well.
One of my top 10 favorites from the fantastic 70's👍
John Wait and the Soul Sisters, knocked it out the park. :)
Not 1 dislike, so I’m not alone in my love for The Baby’s!
Just amazing background signers..this is real music with real talent....l love this group...all over again
Great great song!
Good memories with this song
Saw them open up for REO in ‘78-my first concert. Thanks for posting....Waite still has the swag
You are so lucky.
Dan, remember that well. Duluth, MN at the Duluth Arena. Went for REO Speedwagon and Gary Richrath, came away being a huge Babys fan.
Saw them in '78 with REO too in Jackson, MS. Great concert
Are they the best backup singers ever?😊
The Frankie Valie of rock. Great voice, versatile, part of our lives on the radio for years. 😊🎉❤
I love this song!
Still as fresh as it was way back in the late 70s !
This song/production has it all! Why did the music world lose sight of such awesome beauty!
John Waite is a truly awesome bassist!
And an absolutely fucking amazing lead singer
Still a great song
Timeless... amazing song! 👍🇳🇿
Sooo damn goosebumpin' uplifting good...
John Waite🌹All songs are poetry of love ❤️ [avec une voix d"or du Rock] 🎶🎶🎶🎸🎹🎹🎹🎹 T.H.E. B. A.B. Y.S. so talented 🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎸❤
Always felt this track would've been a great addition to Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. It has that same elite blue eyed pop soul. Killer production.
One sexy singer! He’s still got it today! ❤️
Those zemantis bass is amazing
Rest in peace Judy mauldin.
I tried a Waite song the other night in karaoke. I just can’t hit his high’s. Super star all the way
I'm 70 now. Love the Babys and the backup women on this track. No room for racism or homophobia. Just enjoy the talent. Wish the band with Michael Corby and the Babettes had gone on for a few more years. I like " I'm falling " a lot too. John Lennon said the 70s were a drag, but i think he kind of had his head up his arse in the 70s. Rich hippy in his bubble in a penthouse in Manhatten.
Racism, homophobia ?
Great F’n tune
Amazing song... Thank you for cleaning it up with the video : )
Angels
Seems so many that I Loved, have passed...tell them....
This John Waite And The Babys song entitled, "Isn't It Time", reminds me of living in Northern California circa 1977! The female vocalists on these song are fabulous indeed!
I vividly remember KFRC in San Francisco playing this great song in '77 and '78.
@@brentmann2988 I spent almost 2 years in San Mateo county, Ca. in 77/78! Listened to KSAN FM as I liked early Journey on their NEXT album!
@@johnbeckham1483 KSAN was a really good station. The Bay Area radio stations were great in the 70s.
@@brentmann2988 Yes the FM dial in the Bay Area was loaded with quality Rock & all types of music! I remember KOME in San Jose, KARA in Santa Clara. Do you remember when KCBS FM was light rock? Steve & the Music on KCBS FM! Great station indeed...
@@johnbeckham1483 I lived in the South Bay, so I remember KOME and KARA very well. There was also KEZR and KSJO in San Jose. Yes, I do remember KCBS-FM playing light rock. Fun memories of great radio stations. I also remember a fast talking guy named Tom Campbell doing radio commercials for Cal Stereo!
What can you say about John Waite 🥰love his talent so many memories 🥰
At 01:27John is too far from the mic when he begins singing, revealing he is Iip syncing. He then just smirks at the fact.
Where did they find all the cool clothes back then?
Custom made for the most part
Brits are always best dressed . ;)
@@SuperAnimelover100 exactly my point darling
Do you know if this was a performance video or a TV appearance?
I read that it was a "Umatic promotional video".
Lip sinking and posing to the studio track. Somewhat sad, but Lord what a great song!!!
I thought Jonathan Cain was in the Babies??
The bass trombone is amazing. Anyone know who it is? Perhaps Dick Hyde?
note perfect with the record :/
Yes because it's not live it's the band miming to a recording
@@Slashkamr Yes, I'm painfully aware. My comment was meant as sarcasm.
Hi my name is John. And i want to be Bowie...
Who didn't want that hair back in the day, man or woman? Even me, a rocker.
He looks so pitiful. How sad.
great song but what's with the David Bowie get up
Live lipsync
The fact that every guy in this band is a dork, held them back from superstardom. Tom Waits had an ego that was far too big for his tiny talent. Plus it didn't help that they could never write an album of consistent songs.
