I went with the V&H Eliminator 400s for my M8. I really, really like them. I have had louder pipes before but after 30 mins, shit gets on my nerves plus on my SGS, I wanted to hear my sound system. Has a good deep sound, low at idle but comes alive when you roll-on then levels out, makes the guys notice and the girls wet. If I had a bar-hopper or performance type bike, I would go louder & obnoxious but for touring where I am going long distances and want to enjoy my stereo, I will keep running with the V&H 400s. Hope that helps in making a decision.
John, A video suggestion. Can you go over the different cam options and possibly the different stages for the Harley models and the improvements they make for the different bikes......
Thanks John. I really like to hear the difference on stock and VH pipes. Merry Christmas John. Hope you and your family have a great holiday. Looking forward to some more great videos from you in 2019.
I didn't notice much difference but like you said can't really tell on the video , I got neighbor haters on now and none of my neighbors complain so this month putting on Vance and Hines big radius short turn downs and a stage one up grade . Every body have a nice Christmas.
Once again a great video, wish you a merry Christmas. I have a question for you, what do you think of DP clutches for Harleys I have a 2018 street glide special. And been hearing a lot of good reviews about the DP clutches. Was wondering what your thoughts were. Thanks and have a safe day.
Literally just ordered one of those speakers, from $200.00 to $85, yeah i'll take it.....Thanks John......oh and great sounding exhaust.......thinking about those now for my 18 Electra glide.....
Got a question for you. By replacing the stock headers and getting rid of the cad will the bike sound better and even have some extra power? 2017 Ultra Limited with stage 3 Screamin Eagle. Crap sound in my opinion. Looking for a better option once warranty is over.
John My question to you is can the governor on my 2017 SG CVO Stage IV get off...? My driving style isn't from light to light, but rather Hwy and Distance, but I must add I don't want to lose my dependability she gives me on my travels. Got to love retirement. Sorry John
sort of nice to be slow this time of year. you can organize things like your tools etc. plus think of new video's. I hope 2019 is great for you and the channel. I look forward to these. merry Christmas man.
We just installed the flat black ones. HATE THEM! They scratch so easy. We touched them up with header paint. Costumer was satisfied. That's what counts. See Ya!
The Kove speaker is a decent purchase-I bought mine from the last sponsored video code. Just not crazy about the touch sensitive skip controls on the end that you have to swipe.
Love your channel John! Thanks for everything. I had these installed at the dealer before I took delivery of my 19 RKS. It’s got bad decel pop/backfire. Is that normal without a tune for slipons and no air cleaner?
I've changed the manifold gasket on my Vance& Hines dual exhaust and it still leaks. Everything is tight. Have a question about the pipe that goes into the head. There are three parts that move on the pipe. Are they all supposed to move?
Hey bud. Do you have to tune for full exhaust. I just picked Vance and Hines. Power duals and blackout rounds. Everything I look at online seems to be mixed answers.
Hey John, Here’s something I’d like to know- I see lots of bikes getting exhausts/mufflers, even brand new at the dealers having v&h fitted so the question is, which brands/mufflers WONT invalidate your new bike warranty or must everything be screaming eagle?
Mr. Maxwell.....if you can and i always like to ask a professionals opinions....i want to throw on a stage 1 and maybe stage 2 at same time.....could you tell me what you would put on my breakout 17 grey denium....at least the stage 1 and thank you.....i got tampa harley doing work.....thanks man 👊🙏🇺🇸
John - looking for some advice on slip-ons. Got a 18 Softail Sport Glide earlier this year and I'm tired of it sounding like a sewing machine. I'm looking at TAB Performance and Cobra. Thoughts? I looked at Screaming Eagle and holy crap $$$ expensive. Any other recommendations? And do I need a fuel tuner for just a slip on? Thanks!!! Ride safe out there!
I have the 18 Sport Glide with the Tab Performance slip-on zombie baffles. You don’t need a tuner but after a month I got bored and picked up Vans n Hines FP3 tuner.
Hello friend, I have an issue with this Vance's 46714 exhaust model. I want to install it on my 2023 Road King Special, but the right exhaust doesn't align with the bike's exhaust; the Vance's exhaust is larger in size. Have you encountered this problem? Is there any adapter available?
What exhaust are you going with john?... Sorry if I missed that video man, been busy with the holiday and my 6 year old daughter!..... Merry Christmas bro...
Nothing beats the sound of a full exhaust. What’s the deal with all the talk of not being able to install header pipes on a M8 engine without voiding your warranty?
John, can you tell me if your dealership has a long waiting list for the clutch recall? Because, the dealership I purchased my 2018 RKS is telling me the waiting list is long and their only getting in a few replacements at a time. I hope you can shed some light on this.
Like the pundits of those V&H 400’s. Those don’t affect the warranty? Thought the a-hole Moco only would cover if SE parts used. Another great video. Thanks John
Have you ever installed the Vans & Hines 30+ horsepower kit. If so what are your thoughts is it worth the money or am I better off buying 1 of harleys stage and the exhaust separately
John I bought my neighbors street glide standard and I was wondering if I could change the infotainment out to the specials? I’m wondering if the wiring has to be changed or if it’s possible.
Thank you! I didn’t expect to hear from you so soon... This is my first Harley and I love it! 17 street glide velocity red and it has a stage 1 kit and some more extras. 3k miles and was taken care of.... just can’t say enough about it.... your videos is the reason I have it so thank you for that!
We aren’t flat rate. We’re hourly + billed hour commission. That pay scale keeps us from starving, but we definitely make less money during the winter!
hey john, live the videos and information. question for you? would you recommend these slipons with the screaming eagle headers. also have the screaming eagle tuner. can you help a brother out. thanks in advance
The only muffler to work with the SE header is the SE muffler. They made them different sizes so that they aren’t interchangeable. Trying to keep the EPA happy I suppose!
You should be good. You can always have a run done on the dyno to check it. We charge an hour of labor for a run with AFR readings. If you decide to do the tune, that money goes toward the total cost.
What about the new crush washer that is between the head pipe and the muffler. Do you have to replace that every time you remove the muffler. Example I change my rear tire I have to remove the top muffler to get the the nut. I have not seen you talk about the washer and is it even needed.
Would love to get some "louder than stock" pipes for my 2018 Fat Bob. BUT in the nanny State of California I am seeing signs all over the place about this noise ordinance thing. I am sure some snowflakes are running for safe places when they hear me coming as it is but it would be nice if there was some info on decibels from these cooool after market pipes. The dealers around here can't even install them. You have to meet a guy in a dark ally at night to get performance around here. Love the vids John, make the way you like too ! they will watch :

@@donalddavis7160 I have this pipes on a 16 103 and they definitely aren't quite really like them myself and 50k on them still look good and sound good
@@bradhaaksman1125 brother that's good to hear. I have a 2018 RGS with a stage 2. I put CFR exhaust. The first time I heard the pipes I was very disappointed. But the longer I rode them the better it got. After 2k miles... MAN let me tell you. Just my opinion, there isn't a better sounding pipe.
I just put them on my 2018 Roadglide Ultra along with the SEPST and high flow air cleaner, bike runs perfect, much better than the stock setup. And the Rinehart Slip-On mufflers sound nice, definitely not to loud but performance wise it’s running excellent.
John your acting career has really taken off. You have a stunt double now (Travis) to do the dangerous stuff! Very cool.
Always fun to catch your videos! 🇺🇸

I put them 400's on my Street glide a few weeks ago, lov'em
Richard Hall did you need to retune
Got my Kove going now. I got it via your channel link before.. Great speaker!!

Tab Performance Zombie Baffles are where it's it. Way louder than any Vance and Hines. Swapped out my V&H 400's for TB. No regrets
The stock exhaust actually sounded better. But I sometimes don't hear that good. Love your youtub!
